  1. Nice big, bold statement - Is this game turning into a FULL PvP Game?

You then go on to give one example (it is just one example as this is a mirror depending on which faction you are playing).

And that's it. Your ONE example of this game becoming a full PvP game is the one companion that requires you to do PvP.

If I may add at this point, you already have more companions than you'll ever need who can each play whichever role you want them to, so the companion gained by PvP is certainly not a requirement to the game.

So in answer to your statement. No, this game is not turning into a full PvP game nor is there any kind of indication that it is.

Oh, and I noted you oh so clever "Here come the haters to the thread". This is actually a writing fallacy - but I'll let you off on this occasion. I'm not "hating you". I'm simply pointing out why your post is extremely flawed.

  2. +1. Unless you have a group of regulars to play with, this game has nothing to offer.

Although I'd be interested in the "other destinations", unless they're GW2, TESO, or Asia grinders.

Oh I just assumed on other destinations.

I cannot believe every other MMO out there has neglected PvP and made it into the laughing stock it has become here in SWTOR.

  3. Thanks for the replies so far;

I followed the dev stream where they indeed mentioned that the effects of your choices are not reflected - yet -, and will be made clear in future chapters.

Seeing the KotFE chapters are straight forward and lineair, making the alliance achievements legacy wide would be a great alternative, as maxing your Alliance takes a lot of work for each individual character.

That assumes you'll be taking each individual character through KotFE.

I've taken 4 through it and I've maxed alliance reputation on two of them. However that is it. I've got no desire to take any more characters through exactly the same choices with exactly the same number of consequences (none). My other characters are all level 65, but there seems absolutely no point taking them through a linear set of "chapters" that will remain "one story for all".

If they made it legacy then everyone would be at max reputation after a week or two - BW rely on people wanting to grind away at what will become useless content to keep them happy, a belief there is something still to do in game while we wait for some new content to drop.

  4. Seeing something similar.

I can close down my browser, even reboot and if I load the main "General" forum I'll get threads from around 1:00am this morning.

F5 may or may not refresh, a shift+F5 can work too - I then see posts from many hours later. Read one anc click "Back" and I'll be back at the outdated front page.

The "bugs" sub-forum I cannot get to update at all, no matter which browser I use or how many times I try to force a refresh.

It could be my ISP as they will be caching something somewhere, but I should be forcing an update of that cache.

So in answer - yes, seeing something similar, no, don't know what is causing it.

  5. Hi All

First the game seems enjoyable. Not sure why all the negativity?

I starting playing on and off since about a week ago. I am still only in chapter 1 and I am already level 54. Just started on Tatooine now.

    And you question the negativity?

Not past chapter 1 and you're level 54. You'll be 65 as you hit chapter 2. There is a massive pile of negativity right there. You may be "level capped" throughout, however as you have all high level abilities there will be absolutely zero challenges for you now from where you are until the end of the game.

You won't die, there will be no chance of you dying. You'll hit level 65, buy the level 65 common crystal gear and that is it - the rest of the game played with no challenge, no risks and as you'll only be earning common crystals, very basically no point.

  6. As my big FU to the writers, I exited the story after getting Darth Marr as a comp. I've already finished KtoFE on 4 other toons (1 for each choice [that matters {insert laugh track}] on both sides of the fence) so I'm not missing anything, and I get to keep DM as a comp. Eat it Bioware.

    LOL

They are just sooo gutted you did this.

Hear they might ban you - just because you did this to them.

  7. Have you checked your inventory to make sure the crates are not back and did you finish the conversation correctly or simply exit it?

    If you do the following:

    Hand in crate x20

Exit conversation using Esc or any similar method all reputation is lost and your crates returned.

You must finish the conversation in the correct manner for the reputation to "stick".

  8. I don't get how this is still going on.

An exploit in game mechanics gave people access to opposing starter planets and fleet - well the very fact their are exploiting means they shouldn't still be in the game.

This was also apparently "fixed" some time ago - so a simple sweep and removing all characters from planets they cannot possibly get to should also have been completed weeks if not months ago.

On starter planets they kill quest givers - if that isn't exploiting & harassment I don't know what is.

  9. Well, when people say "you're going to need them" that all depends if you've got that much interest in the current waste of time end-game.

I've got one Rep and 1 Imp - sorry two Outlanders, who have the full 20 reputation with each. But there is no way at all I'm running any other characters through it and even if I do, I'm certainly not taking the time to get the full 20 reputation with them all.

I'm currently stacking the supply crates in case they ever increase the cap from 20 - so my two outlander's will be able to immediately reach the next (useless) cap level.

  10. I have purchased the game time / cartel coins from here in the UK and they have activated just fine. As a UK player they don't appear on amazon.co.uk and although they are delivered digitally, amazon.com require a valid US address.

I got around this with a free service called "Borderlinx" - others have just put a random US address in and it's all worked.

So cannot guarantee 100% that the cards your guild buys will work - the two digital ones that I've purchased from amazon.com as "only available to US residents" have activated fine for me here in the UK.

  11. If at work something we'd rolled out to customers had failed - there would be emergency meetings. We'd all be dragged into a large room and we'd be going through what has happened, how it happened and how we can as quickly as possible fix the issue for the customer.

That would certainly mean for some of us extended working hours as we attempted to fix the issue and prepare patches - hell we've even sent engineers out there and then to catch flights to get customers on-site.

We would dissect exactly what wrong and how it was allowed to happen. All this concluding with lessons learn't. procedures changed and making damn sure this never happened again.

So why do I sit here imagining an empty BioWare office right now - they all clocked-off on time yesterday. The meeting when the problem was discovered was 3 people around a water fountain, laughing, joking "Guess what - event failed in the game" - no way, lol.

BioWare really do seem to have a "that'll do" attitude because they know their customers will take it.

  12. Well that's it. Ask me 2, maybe 1 year ago and I'd say no - exclusive is exclusive. And thus far BioWare have been good about this. If you weren't subbed at the right time you don't have Nico and there is no other way of getting him....at the moment.

What this does is get people, like myself, to participate in promotions. So I'm subbed at the moment even though, in all honesty, content is lacking.

However, as with the whole companion thing, BioWare have shown that if enough people moan, complain and cry they can get their own way.

I mean, how anyone could complain about the HK-55 situation as hinted at above I don't know. Rules clearly stated, promotion points clearly defined.

Yet I am sure there will be complaints from today onwards and if enough of those people stamp their feet like impetulant children there is a chance BioWare will just give them what they want. I await the show.

  13. Just raise a ticket. Tell them which server the character was on and ask that it be restored. If he had all the credits you say he had, then he still will have once restored.

No, they won't "just restore the credits to a different character". So raise your ticket and you'll get the character back.
