  1. I've been reported a number of times, or so I've been told. I've had one warning from an in-game action. You receive it as a warning and they are NOT interested in hearing your side of the story. It isn't a debate that gets opened, they just dictate you've been warned.

I've also had two warnings for things said on these forums - people get so upset when you give them some home truths or call them cry babies......ironically they then go crying to BW and you may or may not get a warning.

  2. I've had an issue with the door at the top being closed and you are unable to get that way. The console which will open the doors is not exactly hidden, but easy to miss as you've already used it once before.

I spent two hours trying to get out with one of my characters before I tried the console I'd already used and the doors opened. I now know that you either go up via the "ribcage" and out, or, if that door is closed for some reason, the console.

  3. Guys - feeling stupid here, but after spending 2, yes 2 hours attempting to complete chapter VI now I'm getting rather frustrated.

So I've killed the large rancor and the mission simply says "Find Vaylin". I've climbed up the creature bones and found myself in the loading dock where I fought the large beast.

    But now what?

I'm just running around in circles, there doesn't appear to be any open doors that will take me back to the main area.

I've jumped off ledges, I've logged out and back in - the same thing, I kill the creature in the loading dock and then there is nowhere to go.

    Please someone, a pointer.

  4. OK, so I'm in the beast pits - but cannot get out of them.

I found a rib cage I can walk up and then I can make 3 small jumps from piece of mesh to piece of mesh and this puts me into a little room called "Machine Closet" I believe.

However there are no obvious ways out from here. I'm obviously aiming for the loading bay, but really cannot see a way to get there.

    What am I missing?

  5. For some reason, after unlocking, I was hording War Hero colour crystals. Not much demand for them - a 1m credit colour crystal was only worth 100k in War Hero form.

Now they are all mastery crystals there seems to be a lot more demand for them all of a sudden.

I don't know what I expected the stats on these crystals to turn into - just wasn't expecting Mastery.

  6. This issue wouldn't be so annoying if it had never worked. However I am sure that at one point it always worked, without fail. This was broken and would have been easy to fix in the very next patch.

We're so many months/years passed the point when it was broken, I doubt now that we'll ever see it fixed.

  7. The annoyance is because this question is asked weekly (forum search time possibly for people wanting to post, yet again).

The reason for the shift is to stop people completing things they shouldn't be able to solo - so no, you can no longer solo world bosses and you can no longer solo the flashpoints in any mode except the "solo mode".

Those are the only things you do not totally and utterly dominate in the game. So this constant "but I want it switched off" I cannot understand, unless it is just the sheer demand to be able to solo WB's which does nothing but piss people off who wanted to do said boss in a group etc.

  8. is there an official statement on how they will handle dark vs light achievements or do they simply end the event when the new addon is released? Could not find any proper info but I and many others want to know if we can still finish dark vs light achievements and claim rewards in the near future, even after the uprising event and new addon or will dark vs light simply end as well?

I really don't understand how they can leave us hanging like this and if they simply end it all, I can see a huge wave of reasonable complaints hitting their fan. I hope they don't screw this up.

If the majority of their player base is really made up by casual players, I can't see how they could have finished in time if even I couldn't.

If they do that then the event is hardly "ending" is it?

The only way they can do this is on the 29th you can no longer gain the achievements. Sure, it'll annoy people, but otherwise everyone can just create DvL characters and complete the achievements years after the vent has finished.

I get the impression that "DvL" characters simply become normal once the event finishes, so with no characters existing with the "DvL flag" come the 29th, there will be no way of completing them.

  9. I've got these things coming out of my ears at the moment. I purchased a hypercrate of one of the older packs as I wanted to increase the reputation. So many of the packs were dropping the certificates instead of the rep items.

I've currently got around 120 of these certificates.

  10. But you do understand how random works right?

If I say there is 1 of 10 possible items in a box, you could open any number of boxes and get exactly the same item each time - and it would still be random.

Your "tests" are nowhere near big enough to prove/disprove that random is or isn't random.

  11. Have the two achievements:

    A thorough Assessment

    &

    Simulated Meatbag

    Been fixed yet?

I've been through the process of getting these twice with characters now and it hasn't worked. I've only got a finite number of characters ready to go and collect HK-55, so don't want to waste any more attempts if it is still broken.

  12. "suggested" - yes, it has been suggested by the free and preferred players for a very long time that their restrictions be removed, as it would.

Even if BW listen, the one feature that will always remain will be the credit cap. No matter what perks you add for subscribers it will have to be fluff. You cannot give game changing features to one set of people.

If the credit cap was every to be removed subscriptions would plummet, that isn't just guess work. As subscribers also tend to be the people that spend the most in the cartel market, this would be suicide.

So ease free player restrictions, give subscribers more fluff - subscription numbers will always be based on that credit cap.

As has always been the case, SWTOR is a pay monthly game with a free option. It is not a free game with a subscription option.

  13. As always when the F2P arguments/moans appear - you are getting this game entirely wrong.

SWTOR is not a free game. SWTOR is a game with a monthly subscription that happens to have a free option.

It is not a free game with an additional subscriber option.

Once you realise this, you realise that with the free option - you're entitled to nothing.

  14. Sounds like a cut-n-paste rant from the WoW forums.

Protip: there is no gold in SWTOR. The least you could do is use correct terminology when trying to push your narrative.

Probably for the same reason no other MMO has been able to solve this issue either. ;)

I use the term "gold farmers" as that is the term used in most situations. If you read, you'd see that I use the term "credits" thereafter.

As for "WOW ranting" - wouldn't know. Never played that game.

  15. I'm just zipping around Yavin 4. I've got a character that runs the weeklies there. When I hit the "slicing node" area I find no less than 6 people moving from node to node as they spawn. Each one of them has no more than 300 achievement points - these are your classic gold farmers.

Now I've been away from the game for about four months and I assumed that BW were going to get to the bottom of this.

But what I also see is that there has been a massive inflation in the cost of "desirable" items. I almost fainted when I saw items going on the GTM for 50 million or more.

I'm in a good position credit wise. I started playing this game on the first day of pre-release and I've got a great many credits spread across characters. I can really buy as I like. However I am also very aware lots of people cannot and certainly cannot drop 50 million credits on an item.

So, what has inflation done for BW. Well, if you want those desirable items you're gonna have to gamble for them. Or, buy the cartel packs, sell them for credits and buy the items this way. Either way BW see an increase in the number of cartel market sales.

So really - why would BW want to stop people farming for gold? As long as there is a massive inflation going on in-game and the items people really want cost more credits than the average player has, then cartel market sales and BW profit will always keep on increasing.

Maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm putting 2 and 2 together and getting five. But really, BW have had quite literally years to solve this issue and haven't.....but why?

  16. Recent returner to the game - had to take about 4 months out.

Before returning I was just stock piling the supply crates.

I've reached 20 reputation with each of the specialists on my main two characters. I cannot remember if there was talk of that reputation "cap" ever being extended.

Any point me hanging on to them? Because of course each one is worth a high level companion gift, but would hate to trade them if they might have use later.

  17. I have the original disks....twice....still. I even took the time to put them onto a USB stick and then play around with the manifest file, so I could install from USB in next to no time.

However as the disk version is so out of date, it took an eternity to actually patch up.

On my latest reinstall (a week ago) I downloaded the base client and ran it. Then disabled bitraider and then allowed the whole game to download again. I'm now running on the non-streaming client and it didn't take any longer to download than all the patches for a disk install would have.
