  1. Hi all. I'm not really new to the game, I played when it came out and got whatever use out of the free time you got from buying the game. I'm gonna be honest, this title at the time fell so far below my hopes and expectations that I never thought I'd come back to this and then it went F2P after about 6 months, which I did not think was a good sign (although could've been planned all along as they rolled the game out). I absolutely hated it, the biggest disappointment for me was the "on a rail" space missions. That completely killed the game for me, grinding those missions but not really caring, because you knew where the scripted enemies were coming from, and it was just boring. Other things that I found dull were the lack of starting areas, and the lack of "diversity". Doing the same stuff over and over no matter the classes you chose. Granted most games of this nature are like that, but for some reason, it felt much more pronounced in SWTOR. Please keep in mind that these were my feelings at release. So here we are 2014, 2 years after this game released. I deleted all my old toons (yeah, all that time thrown away), but did so so I can start fresh and get acclimated to the game again. Sure, some of my old gripes are still there, but I don't feel as strongly about them as i used to. Sure it would be nice to have some more diverse starting areas, and a little more freedom to move between them..but hey, most games don't change starting area's unless a huge game update. If you think of WoW as the example, each faction had 2 - 3 starting areas, similar to now, but the main difference is the lack of freedom to move between them in SWTOR completing different quests...I think this is because of the "story" your character is tied to. Was a big deal 2 years ago, I got over that...although some new quests would've been nice, still doing the same things after all this time. I don't know, i feel like if I were going to make more than one toon of a type, jedi for example (since they both start on the same world) that there would need to be a very very very long time between playing them, since the only difference between them is the class quests. What I was really looking forward to is the new starship fights. As I said earlier, my biggest disappointment was the rail shooting. I'm hoping these open PvP space battles give us some reminiscence of games like Xwing Vs Tie fighter. So my questions are (i'm still browsing the site to find the changes, so bear with me) 1- Are those space missions that were on rails, still there? Did they remove the rails (they wouldn't have been so bad if they were free roaming). 2- I know you get your ship @ level 20 or so (or when you leave the planet after the starter planet), is this the same ship you take to PVP fights, or do you get others for that? When can you join those space fights? they game gave me all this pilot gear, didn't know what to do with it. Thanks!
  2. It's sad, I like SW just as much as anyone here. I went and got the CE version of this game. Don't get me wrong, the statue that came with it was worth the price of the CE alone, but the software is lackluster. I can understand people defending the game, but those defending it with such blind faith are well, blind and missing the forest for the trees. There are aspects this game gets right, but for every one right, there are about 3 wrong. I'm like most people I'm getting bored. The response to that seems canned, "Go do warfronts, battleground, hardmode"...why do I want to do the same stuff over and over that I'm already bored with? Space missions suck, they're boring and repetetive and not a challenge. After the third time through, you can pretty much do it with your eyes closed and phone it in, and the fact that it's tunnel and non-free roaming is totally FUBAR'd. I might try GW2 since it's free, but I think this is my last foray into the MMO genre (unless Microsoft smartens up and makes a Mechwarrior/Battletech MMO). There's nothing new to them, and well, I don't care to waste anymore life on an endless grind for some kind of token to redeem for vendor merchandise only to have it become obsolete next content patch / expansion.
  3. 6.5/7 Needs a lot of work, star wars name isn't enough to carry it. personally I may just be getting out of the MMO genre. They're all the same just a different dressing. Go here kill "X" of these, gather "Y" of those, or hit that switch. This isn't the game's fault, it the MMO formula. It's like Call of Duty, it hasn't evolved or changed in years. I think Warcraft ruined the genre unfortunately.
  4. I'm very disappointed as well. I wasn't as hyped as a lot of people but I was up for a new Star Wars game. Personally, I blame EA for this the same way I do BF3's issues. EA buys these production houses just to profit on the titles they've creatred. DICE in BF3's case, Bioware in this instance. They then dictate release timetables and the like and basically rush titles into release then they just make the initial money and watch a title slowly die. I played a little of the beta and wasn't uber thrilled, but the game hasn't changed much since although I reserved a good amount of criticism until now. I've finally experienced space combat and it's awful. The automatic movement and tunnel aspect is terrible. If it was free roaming it wouldn't be so bad but the preset flight path and AI is so freaking easy. I sit with my head in one hand and fly with the other just bored waiting as the counter ticks away. Furthermore, you can shoot objectives through things. For instance the "listening station" you can shoot the gun emplacements through the actual station itself. collision for shots is god-awful. and talk about monotonous, i've been doing the same 5 missions for the last 5 or so levels, and for what, commendations I can't use for another 15 levels or so. -untargetable Npc's walking around world, just as fluff -NO REPLAY VALUE WHATSOEVER. I can play one jedi toon, one "combat" toon. asside from the starting worlds, and class quests everything else is the same, every quest I get. If I get to 50 with one toon, there's really no other reason to play that faction again apart from class quests. Play it one time through and you've pretty much have seen everything. -I'm on a PVP server and haven't seen any open PVP at all. Not even one time have I seen someone in general chat say they're being ganked and asking for help, which makes me ask the question: Is there any Open PVP or just battleground? -Thankfully I'm not 50 yet, I can only imagine how boring endgame must be. -Buggy animations / cutscenes -Limited character creation options -Mobs killed in groups should also add to your social rank rather than just speaking with the quest givers -game feels like it was developed on the consoles and ported to PC. This game like many others this game is pure hype and banking on the Star Wars license. Granted it's early, but vital signs are fading fast. There is so much potential that hasn't been lived up to here. Space flight needs to be completely retooled in some aspects. The current "story-style" quest system is severely limiting in terms of where a player can really go.
  5. Nope, I work full time. Big boy earns and spends his own money. Haters gonna hate apparently, these boards are full of haters it seems.
  6. I'm guessing it's a part of a chest piece then? OK, at least now I know there is some semblance of a cape, if it's not a seperate item, that's cool. From the early looks of things I didn't think they were in the game at all.
  7. I did but couldn't open it. i just saw it. THAT'S what I'm talking about! Is that from modding items?
  8. There isn't. I've seen the pants that have the cloak attached and those are cool, I'm looking for something more.
  9. Back on topic then: they should be postponed INDEFINITELY
  10. Nah, I've seen them...not the same. This could be in addition to those.
  11. Long, flowing in the wind, imposing, cool looking. The grace. And absent? where are they?
  12. Cheaper thing to do would be to go to the store buy the steak, grind it and make a prime burger out of it yourself.
