I'm just waiting to install on Monday. What's great is that it will be playable at 12:01 am PST.

I've looked at those vendors twice. The second time was to go back and make sure it was really as bad as I thought, and it was

spare me the 15 year old sarcasm. I ask an honest question as to what you actually do in game because I cant find a single thing that brings me enjoyment. And the internet prognosticators must be right because my server has hardly anyone on at peak hours. Doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out when nobody is home, the door will remain closed.
Then why are you playing?
There are plenty of threads talking about things to do, just search for the common "what is there to do at 50?" type of thread, and inevitably someone will have listed a bunch of things. If none of them sound interesting to you, it's really ok to stop playing if you are not having fun. MMOs are not for life, and are not your gf/bf, so it's not like a life commitment.

I say keep the dash of SWG. The only thing that SWG proves is that no matter how horrible of a game a dev makes, there will always be some people that think it was greatest. I even heard someone talking up shadowbane this week lol

Tera-Online is rather entertaining!
But if we use the measuring stick that was used with SWTOR, Tera has already failed because I could buy it today for $37, and it was released 5 days ago.

I think the Imperial Agent story is the best of them. The Trooper story was good, but it's a bit repetitious in its theme for me. Really lost interest in the low 40s. The smuggler was too mercenary for me, not really the smuggler I wanted to play. I thought the Consul story for part 1 was very boring.

na, those aren't creative enough. They have been used as titles in too many other mmos.
What about....
Datamaster "Name" (pub version)
Datalord "Name" (emp version)
The Completionist
The Legacy Technician
The Wanderer ** I like this one
"Name" the Data Seeker
I shall continue to post ideas. Anyone like any so far?
How about "<name>, Bored Silly"?

They did show loyal customers some love. They gave them a free month's playtime.
But that was like 3 mmo years ago.

The neediness of mmo players cracks me up. Just yesterday this was posted on the dev tracker seeking input:
"Hello everyone! James Ohlen, Game Director for Star Wars: The Old Republic, is looking for your feedback on the game's development once again. This week he's looking out to the stars... and the planets of the Star Wars universe..."

Because those types of groups tend to really suck. For one, grouping is social, and you can never say a thing. I've found that the people that tend to burn through stuff like that are jerks, especially if things go wrong, and they have an attitude of "you guys suck, and all this great stuff is happening for you because of me". Don't forget what was already mentioned about looting chests. So just pass on the experience, and the type of person that flocks to it. Been there, done that.

Based on what I have seen thus far, the expansion will be more Rakghouls, like "Rakghouls in Space" featuring the exploits of Captain Link Hogthrob, First Mate Piggy, and Dr. Julius Strangepork.

I thought Apple owners were too cool to game.
-
I just don't get the infatuation with player housing. I thought UO's and SWG's implementation even hindered the game. EQ2, AO, and LOTRO did it right with optional areas. I still think it's a waste of time so that people can play house, or other things in private.

How about accelerating from zero speed to faster than light speed in under a second or two? Magical inertia dampeners perhaps.
-
You must be really bored if you want to play that. :/
I didn't play it much. Just enough to get a feel for it. I pretty much try all new MMOs unless the community scares me off like Tera. GW2 is a no-brainer for me considering there is no subscription fee.
Hopefully, after another week or two break from SWTOR, it will seem fresh enough for me again. I tried to play last night, but the WZ queues were quite slow. I may have to find a new server.
-
I seem to get this email for every char I get to level 10. I still haven't read it once
-
All I can say is that after getting a char to 50, I decided to take a week break. Now I cannot seem to play longer than 10-20 minutes before losing interest in leveling alt, and I have no interest in doing anything with my level 50. I rather continue playing "Legends of Grimrock", or GW2 beta.
-
Quite frankly I don't care. It will never effect me as I very rarely use the GTN, and when I do, the item has to be cheap for me to buy it. So I get all my gear by questing, NPC bought through comms or credits, or craft it myself.
-
Don't sweat it. The guy literally has no clue what he is talking about. I've played MMOs since UO pre Trammel split and I remember what people were playing back in Daoc's prime. In NA it was EQ and Daoc. You also had games like UO and AC but Daoc and EQ were the big two.
There really was only UO, EQ1, DAoC, and AC to pick from in NA. Played them all. A big part of EQ1's success is due to not having any real competition. DAoC came along and lessened the stupid downtime, then eventually WoW showed up and put an end to ridiculous down time. I have actually read a book while playing EQ1 when having to solo.
-
Is that why they never broke 300,000 with that game?
Sometimes I wonder if all those fondly remembering DAoC only do so fondly because it was their first MMO?
Buffbots ftw! Serious beer goggles for the DAoC fans. I get the same chuckle when I hear people talking about how great SWG was pre-NGE.
-
Yea, there have been quite a few times I pick something like, "I don't agree", and it turns into "I will kill all of you and your pet hamster!" <escape> re-do the conversation, and take all the same options up to the last one.
-
Call me funny names, but I don't care about the cliche back story on why I have to kill something n times, or fetch item x. I listen to the main class line, but that's about it. It's especially pointless when you must pick the correct alignment choice for force users due to equipment having alignmnet reqs on them still. I basically pick the option that maximizes the points for my companion and gives me the correct alignment points. So yes, I spacebar while reading fast. Unless it's one I am quite familiar with, then I just spacebar fast.

Try getting a vibro knife. I RE'd dozens, maybe hundreds and didn't get a single one. I finally just gave up.
I was told in guild chat that you can't get RE vibro knives for blue recipes.
What will make you keep playing?
