  1. Too bad it's 3 months too late http://massively.joystiq.com/
  2. It's funny that so many people blame WoW for the game being easy. I don't recall Blizzard developing this game. Do people blame hard games on Dark Souls too? Give me a break. Also, I don't really buy the argument that WoW is easy. Sure, it has easy modes but heroic raiding can be challenging, far more challenging than nightmare raiding in this game. I'd even argue that heroic dungeons in WoW are harder than heroic Flashpoints in this game. As an older MMO vet, my opinion is that this game launched at the very least 6 months before it was ready which is going to be its eventual downfall. So many people that I know have left and will not return. I'll consider returning when it goes F2P and has a lot more features/stuff to do. No way I'll pay a sub for a game I already "beat", which is strangely possible in this game considering the model of story.
  3. I think as an MMO vet you should be able to know a stinker when you see one. This game will be ready to launch in May at the earliest, but they wanted to get paid so they launched it in December as an incomplete waste of time. MMO vets know that the most important thing is having a reason to log in everyday. Up until about 1.3 or 1.4 I don't think that will be the case. This was a great single player game. I paid my money to go through the stories and it was worth it. As a game, I enjoyed it. As an MMO, it's at the bottom of the barrel.
  4. You must be on a high pop server. I haven't seen a person in 5 weeks probably.
  5. Except, judging by the game, that is not their mantra. It'll be released right after my sub ends.
  6. You can learn to make friends other ways. Like you said, Flashpoints are just one facet of the game. Make friends in pvp, ops, or questing in the world. Everybody can't solo those heroic 4 quests, they'll need help. Stop depending on flashpoints as a social crutch. Learn to make friends other ways. Also, you asked me to go to WoW and spam chat for a group. Well, I don't play WoW but you're right, people would ask you to use the tool. Because it improves the process.
  7. There are several steps companies go through when subs drop. First they try to get their current sub members to recruit others CHECK Next they try a free trial period of some sort CHECK Then they'll offer some sort of voluntary sever jump SOON Next they'll start to close the smaller servers SOON-ish Finally crap will be fixed, though this process will take about 6 more months. By then, the game will be on life support.
  8. You're not going to believe this. Get ready for it. It's an optional tool!!!!! You don't have to use it. You can spam all you want and make your groups the old fashioned way. I played WoW and Rift when this was implemented before and after. Literally saw no change.
  9. Rift has its problems, but that said, it's far and away the best MMO on the market right now. I quit Rift when I didn't have time for MMO's, and now that I do I gave this a try. As charming as leveling was, it has a garbage end game. All of the 1.2 features needed to be in the game at launch, period. This is also the type of game that needs a dungeon finder, since it is so dependent on the trinity. Bioware made so many mistakes with this, I don't think it'll ever recover. Even if they fix the majority of the issues, they've lost a lot of people for good. The people that I know who quit won't be coming back, no matter what's in patch 1.2 or 1.3.
  10. Same reason I cancelled. I told them too in the survey I filled out. 1.3 is May at the soonest, which is FAR too long for me to wait. I'll play a game that I can enjoy until GW2, not interested in spamming chat just to run a dungeon.
  11. This is an excellent question that I think has no answer. I thought they were leaving their team together after launch, but I guess they've been on a 3 month break. Bugs, features, everything moves along at a snails pace.
  12. That's your opinion and your situation. Some of the technical issues could certainly be called game-breaking. I had a game-breaking glitch that took them 8 days to fix. Being on a dead server with no option to transfer could be game-breaking. I'm just saying, try doing some of the content with 6 people on a planet during "prime" time.
  13. Nobody expected the game to be perfect, but people expected better progress. I'm willing to excuse some things from launch, but that doesn't mean I don't expect them. 6 months after launch for a dungeon finder, multi-spec or server transfers is too is unsatisfactory. Part of the reason I was optimistic about this game was the backing of EA. Say what you will about them, they have resources. I'd be even more upset if I were one of the people that had technical issues that have yet to be resolved. A lot of people like me are optimistic about GW2 because it has a system in place that fixes many of our issues. No more spamming for a tank or healer, since it doesn't have them. No need for a dungeon finder when you only need bodies, not classes.
  14. The said "multi-spec" as they were implying more than 2, as in > dual spec. I can't imagine why you'd REALLY need more than 3 in this game but not something to complain about. The fact that they're just now finishing up stuff that should have been in the launch is scary. If it takes them this long to put in Guild Banks and other standard crap, I shudder to think about a timeline for other features.
