  1. You cant even log into the swtor.com website and change the info without the Auth key.
  2. And it did. They did not gain access to the swtor account. The hackers tried to login in numerous times without an Auth key, Then bioware locked the account. The Auth key did its job.
  3. In that same link Is Origin required to play Star Wars: The Old Republic? No. The Origin client is not required to play the Game. Whether you purchased a digital or physical version of the Game, Origin is offered as an optional installation as long as you redeem your official Game Product Registration Code at The Old Republic Code Redemption Center. When you use Origin, you will have one consolidated place from which to see and launch your entire game library.
  4. You realize the auth keys changes every 15s or so? So EVEN if they got key logged an auth key, It would only be active for a very short period of time.
  5. Thats the thing, The auth worked, and did not let them access the account. The account was locked because someone kept trying to login in numerous times and failing (because they didnt have the auth key). Wow does the exact same thing.
  6. wrong, swtor and EA accounts are not linked. The OP used the same email login/pw with origin and swtor.
  7. Not true at all. And bioware has come out to say Origin is not needed to play swtor. Even when I installed using my CE cd's. The install process asked me If i wanted to install origin, and I said no. You do not need origin to play swtor. Origin is just a downloading service like Steam. It is there to download it for you and install it. Just like rift is to steam.
  8. No what you dont understand is the Auth key worked, and did not allow the hackers to get into the swtor account, Only the origin account. The account was locked after 2 billion login attempts (without an auth key). So bioware locked the account. The authenticator did its job.
  9. Why? You do know an apple computer is a PC with a different Operating system? And Apple gets virus's just like MS does.
  10. They arent linked. If you bought the game with origin. All you had to do was get the cdkey that was emailed to you from origin. Then come to the swtor website, Make an account (with a different email then origin if you want). Then you can download the game threw the swtor.com website, and basically uninstall origin afterwards. Origin is not needed to play swtor.
  11. Because Origin is just a downloading service like Steam. You can make a totally different email account for Origin, then you do with swtor. The only thing Origin does for swtor, is give you a cdkey to make an account on swtor.com. If you make this the same email as your origin account...then thats there fault i guess? Origin it not needed to play swtor. That would be like blaming the devs for rift account being locked because you made the email/pw the same in rift as your steam account.
  12. Not true, they got the account info threw Origin (if you use the same email to login into swtor and origin), and couldnt not login into swtor because they didnt have the auth key. If anything the Authenticator key did its job. Bioware locked the account because someone tried to login numerous times with no Auth key.
  13. Compremised doesnt mean they got into the account. It means Bioware notice odd activity to your account and locked it for security reasons. They probably tried to login into your account over and over and over. Which bioware notice it was ****ed up and locked it (because they didnt have the authenticator). They do the same thing in Wow.
