  1. Ugh... Please. QQ moar about the costumes. Apparently you all haven't played the test server/read the patch notes for 1.2, otherwise you wouldn't be so quick to complain. Listen... YOU CAN REMOVE MODS FROM THE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES AND PUT THEM IN MORE "TRADITIONAL" GEAR. Pardon the caps lock, but it seems to be the only way to get through most of your skulls. If you don't like the "Halloween" gear, don't use it. I know it's not what most of us THINK is Star Wars, but you know what? You didn't make the game. You didn't design the character outfits. Yes, you can lobby complaints to BioWare about the designs, but if they don't want to do anything about it, then they don't have to. If you're going to quit over such a minute detail, please, by all means do. I don't need your immature, whiny, sniveling prattle all over my general chat. Normally I don't comment on threads, but I felt the need to here. I see a lot of complaining, and some of it about stuff as ridiculous as sprint at level one. HERE HERE, I SAY! Grinding from 1-14 was such a slog-fest that I regretted it every time I made a new toon. (I have friends on three different servers and am an alt-o-holic on top of) Considering that I have YET to get a character out of Chapter One (laugh all you want, I'm a working father with two kids and have less than two hours a day to devote to the game, if that), I don't much care that they're not adding more storyline quests as of yet. Dailies are "meh" in my opinion, mostly because I don't have the time to find a group through General Chat who hear me over spoilers about other games (ME3, most recently), talking about other people's mothers, or people generally just making asses out of themselves. When new class content becomes available, so be it. MAYBE I'll be ready for it, but maybe not. I'm not going to gripe about it now. There are several other changes that are being made that I'm sort of on the fence about. "Nerfing" (balancing, buffing, whatever you want to call it) is a fact of life when it comes to MMOs. Personally, I don't care either way. You're always going to have some whiny little brat complaining that "Such-and-such class is OP!" because they don't know how to play their own class and are getting wiped in PvP. So, naturally, customer relations are going to go "We need to fix this!" and scramble to make everything more "fair". It's never going to be "balanced". You're always going to have players more skilled than others, and those weaker players are always going to cry "OP! OP!". I suppose the point I'm trying to get at here is that there are always going to be people crying about changes being made. The simple solution is, if you don't like it, leave. We won't miss you. Really we won't. All of you announcing your departure over such ridiculous reasons just make me happier, really. It means I won't have to deal with you in-game complaining about this, that and the other. We're getting rid of the "casual" Star Wars/MMO fans and keeping the hard-core. (I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer, but when it comes to Star Wars, you can bet your life's savings on it) tl;dr - Whiners suck, get the kriff off my game unless you're dedicated to the story
  2. Okay, so this may seem like a n00bish question (considering other people have asked similar questions), but I am looking for advice on boosting performance. I am currently running the lowest of the low settings and getting about 7fps on average. Sometimes it'll jump in the 20's, but I usually have to be staring at the ground, or a wall, and that's at 1024x768 (as I refuse to go to 800x600, since my monitor seems to like the current setting best anyhow, since I get the best fps out of it). These are my current specs... CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 Propus 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor MoBo: BIOSTAR TA870U3+ AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD RAM: 4 GB Graphics: GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Video Card Power Supply is a solid 550w. I'm pretty sure that the current graphics card is most of my issue. I was on a budget when I set up this build, and had actually intended this tower for this game. Unfortunately, I was out of work most of the year and just now have the money to start saving up for a better card. Thing is, I'm looking to spend right around $100-$130. If I can get a decent card for cheaper, that would be fantastic, but I'm not naive enough to think that I can get much better performance without dropping around $100 on a card. My question to you is this... Does anyone know of a card around that price range that should let me run at least medium settings? I don't care about high or ultra (at least not until I can either get more hours at work, or until tax returns come around), and from what I've read about the shadows (and that it doesn't seem to make a difference whether they're on or off), I don't care to have those either. I'm in a bind here and I could really use some help. My brother keeps telling me that he'll look around, but hasn't gotten back to me. Any help in this matter would be much appreciated!
