Could you explain this part? 4% health ticks is @1200 health with a 30k health pool, so give or take 1200 to 1500 health at 38-39,000 health. I don't see how that's a super buff.

You can still turn while immobilized. I assume it'll work like a Sorc's Creeping Terror or a Marauder's talented Deadly Throw. Can't get away, but can turn. Looks like a 1.5s immobilize, since that was the duration of Hidden Strike's stun. In all, it's a fair nerf that lets the person fight back, but I'm showing my Marauder bias there.

Holy cow. No more stun off Hidden Strike. That's... oh wow. That's huge. That's monster huge.
  4. Hey everyone! So, I'm leveling my Sniper and enjoying it a great deal. But if we're dead against 'Sins and Ops, I'm not sure I want to finish getting to 55. How are we doing against Ops now? Any help would be appreciated.
  5. Wow, 100% right on all things. I'm 54 now with about 400k. Looking to augment stuff is going to be pricey, and since last time I played Biochem was the greatest thing ever, i'm still Biochem (was it really almost 2 years ago? Wow... ). I've just maxed out at 2750 warzone thingies, but most of my stuff is PvE level 50 stuff (the fp's you run from 50-54). The trudge ahead looks daunting. My roommate, who has an Assassin that turned 55 last week, has 4 pieces of Conqueror and has 25k health in Warzones. That kind'a worries me. This thread needs the 'Treat Me Like an Idiot, I'm Either Drunk or Have 2 Small Kids' version that just gives instructions to people like me. Could Bioware have made Bolster more obtuse?
  6. Thank you! That helps a great deal. I shall follow this to the letter. So, once 55 I should buy Conqueror stuff, augment it, and I'll be good?
  7. I'm fairly new (I quit a long time ago, just came back a few weeks ago) and... and I have no idea how to parse this thread. It's like in a different language. I'd really like to understand it before I hit 55 though. What I gather is that I stick purple 69/66/58 mods in everything and bolster will take me to 30k health, etc?
  8. Thank you very, very much for that! I'm very appreciative. I'll give a Marauder a shot. I have one at 44, an Assassin at 49, and a Vengeance Juggernaut at 52. Marauder it is. I have to pare it down to one because I just had a kid and kids eat my playing time. Thought, those 10k Maul crits sound fun...
  9. Hey everyone. I'm having a hard time sticking to one character. What interests me really is big crits. It keeps me entertained. So, DPS naturally. Of DPS, which has the highest crits: Assassin, Juggernaut, or Marauder? I know it's a stupid thing to focus on, but I have a 5 second attention span that wanders if I don't see pretty numbers and clap like a 2 year old. In all seriousness, I could use some help on this.
  10. It is a harsh, bitter, cruel, and unfair world when James Ohlen isn't the first one fired.
  11. SWTOR is now the example of what-not-to-do-when-launching-a-MMO. The lessons learned are numerous. Don't: Nerf like a kid with a lighter. If you take things away in the first 6 months of launch, people will get frustrated. Frustrated people leave to go back to characters they've played for years because they have no attachment to the 3 month old ones just nerfed. Or they go try a new game that has yet to nerf them. The mantra for 6 months after launch may and must be nerf if you must, but buff. If it makes bosses too easy, buff the bosses. Player interest is your only commodity and if you lose it, you lose your game. Don't: ever ignore the forums. A visible developer presence on the forums gets attention on news sites. It shows the developers care, or at least fakes it. Never have your community managers EVER say that they have no power or will relay the information as it makes for hostile forums. For the first few months, have one of the developers spend a bit of time on the forums. Yes, the forums are not representative of the player base as a whole, but the forums are the squeaky wheel that gets heard on other sites. Don't: EVER LAUNCH WITHOUT A GROUP FINDER. The genre has changed, this is a feature that is now standard. WoW put theirs in Dec. 2009, SWTOR needed it at launch in Dec. 2011. The whole reason PvP got so popular is that it was far easier to click one button and drop into a pvp queue than it was to find a group to run flashpoints and raids. It's better to launch with less content than to launch without every group enabling mechanic possible. Don't: wait to balance things quickly after launch. It's better to make a quick change at first because it shows you're committed and interested. A responsive development team is essential to maintain player interest. And player interest is the only commodity an MMO has. A month long patch test is for beta, not for live. And certainly not 2 months after launch. The timetable to fix things is so much shorter at launch because you have to give the players no reason to go play anything else.
  12. And that's why we got the free month, to keep subscriptions from looking abysmal. I would guarantee that active subscriptions are below 1 million, but the free month will float it 1.1 million.
  13. As a dps Sorc (Madness), Firetech damage is absurd. It's usually something like this: slow, set me on fire, rail, and if I sprint they yank me back. Crotch punch, respawn. But as a dps Sorc, everything kills me, so what I'm going to do, complain?
  14. The game is going to be free-to-play by next month's flavor. I figure it like this: Sorcs had 4 months, Marauders get 1 month before the tolling of the bell.
