  1. I personally have only been using the missions if I start seeing one too many nodes that are just beyond the level of the gathering skill. Otherwise, I've saved my credits for something else. People say creds are easier to come by later, but then, the money sinks typically scale up too.

    EDIT:

    V That may help too.

  2. Says on the box you need that stuff to play.

Says you get 30 days free access with purchase of game.

That means you get 30 days free access to a game that requires that stuff to play.

You didn't pay euros for the 30 days, you paid euros for the 30 days + the time on your game time card, because you chose to pay the euros to buy your game time card.

    kthxbai

  3. Some of us aren't rich and can't afford the extra costs associated with Android/iPhones...

But if you can't afford the physical key either, then... skip a month's subscription and use the money you saved to buy a token.

  4. There are alternative ways to get those LS/DS points and companion affection. You can repeat flashpoints for both, and there are gifts you can give for the affection. But affection is almost always something you can get during side-quest conversations, and there are often ones with ls/ds decisions as well.
  5. Game is newly released, so I don't think they've announced anything, but if the game does well enough I imagine that's a likely possibility.

Edit: NEWLY, I meant newly, not nearly X_x sorry

  6. My favorite part is when people say they paid $150 for a lousy lounge/vendor. Not saying the OP did, but there''s so many of these QQ threads over how the fluff is just fluff.

$60 was the game, you paid $90 for the extras, not $150.

Neither did you pay that extra $90 for just one thing, you paid that $90 for:

    Lounge access (VIP Vendor)

    *CE Vendor

    *Mouse Droid

    *Soundtrack CD

    *Map

    *fancy case

    *Some guy''s journal

*Authenticator token key thing (and associated vendor)

    *Darth whoever statue

    Holo-Dancer

    Flare Gun

    Training Droid

    Stap

    Holo-Camera

If you wanna get technical, the Stap, Training Droid, Flare Gun, Holo-Camera, Holo-Dancer, and Lounge access were also available for just $20 more on the DDE. So that means you only paid $70 for the 8 items marked with *. Even if you split that evenly, that means you paid a whopping $8.75 for your CE vendor. likely less since I imagine that statue has got to be worth more than some digital alien pushing fluff. They''ve already said it''s going to be a dynamic vendor as well with new items available as time goes on.

It doesn''t matter what you bought it for, what it is you consider trash and what you actually wanted, you paid $90 extra for all of that on top of the $60 for the game itself. You can quibble all you want over taxes and shipping, but that''s what it boils down to.

  7. Wish people could read AND comprehend my post

Already posted, but if that wasn''t comprehensive enough for you, I''ll target the first line in your OP.

Bioware should have been clearer that you could not play without a subscription. [...]

It doesn''t get any clearer than right on the box. It says plain as day you cannot play the game without a subscription or time card. Your 30 days free access is access to a game that requires this to play.

No box? The website''s got plenty of info for you.

  8. Pretty standard fair for MMO''s all the way back to EverQuest and beyond... I''m not even using a credit card for mine. I have a separate checking account (with debit card) that I can have as little as $0.01 in and it''ll stay open and I get charged no fees for it being under a certain amount or anything. I only transfer funds into it shortly before paying my bills, otherwise, if it''s compromised, they''re only get a few dollars.

I just sign up with that card, make sure I keep $15 in it and I''m golden.

  9. Says in the fine print on the back of the box that the game requires persistent internet and valid payment method to play. your free 30 days access is to a game that requires this information to play. Free doesn''t mean it doesn''t need payment info, it simply means it won''t be charged for 30 days.

And as has already been mentioned, whenever you enter info like this, in order to make sure the card you gave is valid AND has $ in it, their system requests what is called a "hold" for some arbitrary amount like $1 (sometimes even less) and if it goes through, the hold is released and placed back in your account.

There is no surprise second fee, and the fine print as well as the EULA explain the requirements. "No one actually reads the EULA!" yeah that south park episode was funny, but it doesn''t matter if even no one reads it. You had to confirm that you did indeed read it and agreed to it in order to even install the game.

  10. Also, If there's an imbalance, you'd have empty spots sitting there for the side with fewer players that could be used to allow the other side's players to play... If a PvP server were nothing but pvp and no pve or trading or crafting or anything else, maybe... People aren't going to roll a Republic toon to save on waiting any more than they're going to switch to a lower population server. There's still going to be plenty of players who only want to play Sith or already have Sith characters, or have friends/guildmates on that side on that server.

Sounds to me like this would favor Republic players though, if I understand the general reports on average population imbalances. I'm a Republic player, so... I guess in the end, I'm all for it! :D

  11. Not sure I understand how that would work... Players are players, they can roll characters on both sides on the same server, and the game doesn't even know which side toon you're going to play until after you've gotten through the queue to character selection, I'm not sure how it'd work out.
  12. In a game with players from around the world, someone's going to get shafted on patch days...

I have friends who live in the CST time zone along with myself, and while I'm awake during mostly normal hours, they're awake for hours normal in, like, Japan. I find it hard to believe they're the only people who work the graveyard shifts in CST that are awake on opposite hours to the sun lovers. They get shafted too.

That's why I find it hard to agree with threads like these, not everyone, even in your very own time zone, is awake for the same set of hours each day/night. I reiterate: Someone is always going to get shafted with maintenance happening during their prime time.

  13. If we're talking a simple friends list system that spans the servers and friends are added by forum username instead of by character, then sure.

Personally, I just wish at the least your friends list carried over to all characters so you're not having to re-friend everyone (and only while they're on-line, since you can't seem to do that when they're offline apparently) every single time you create a character.

If you're for some reason suggesting that it involve people's real first and last names, I'm not sure why that's even necessary. Maybe it could let you change the display names of your friends (like on instant messengers I see this) so you can change them to their actual names if that's what you need to remember who they are...

  14. Says on the box you're required to have that info submitted to play. Your purchase of the game gives you free 30 day access to a game that requires this information to play. Simple as that.

If he really bought the game but doesn't want to sub with a card, as someone else already suggested, just subscribe with the card (yes, the whole nine yards) then cancel your subscription. The account will simply lock after the time is up and require a subscription or time card to continue.

  15. 1) What do you consider yourself? (Hardcore/Casual/Other)

Guess a little more than casual, but not enough time to be "hardcore", video gaming is the largest hobby I have by far.

    2) How do you define your playstyle?(PVP/PVE)

Primarily PvE. I've always been horrible at PvP, but always willing to give it a shot in each MMO I dive into.

    3) What is your max level?

Just got my Jedi Sage to 18 today.

    4) When did you start?

    Dec. 13th

    5) Other?

Started with a Sentinel, thinking it was my main, until I got to Sage. I planned on swapping toons every 10 levels so I rolled all 4 basic classes, but when I started playing my sage, I could'n't stop after I hit 10.

    6) Number of alts?

4 characters altogether. Not sure if the Sage will be my true main yet or not.
