  1. may vary with spec. i know as sabotage (sniper mirror but regardless) its very much worth it, with 15% base damage increase,100+% surge and 2-piece pvp bonus (a fourth tick of damage) its my second best dps and dpe per activation move after sabotage charge+all contingency charges. i would think for mm/ss its worthwhile as well assuming they spec for 2-second cast, but not sure about dirty fighting. it does pretty insane damage without buffage, as others have mentioned, even for healing scoundrels, so I'd guess yes. dont know if it counts as periodic effect to get the 12% increased crit chance.
  2. as i think about it, malgus has a much too different ideology for me to see working with the masters. revan theres no reason for him not to be happy to see pubs. maybe hk could be token droid boss, but kephess just makes more sense. considering the apparent 'ancient' context, perhaps one of those imprisoned rakata dudes, namely soa or the one from the tatooine planet quests, gets mixed in.
  3. i had been thinking kephess, but i hope op is right, more interesting character.
  4. its 'easier' to use lokin, but noticeably slower, personally i like to use a tank pet, like kaliyo, that does their share of damage and allows me to just go to town unhindered. i dont bother to heal them after fights, just keep going until theyre low on health then unsummon-resummos/mount-unmount.
  5. probably the most telling response in here, in that it shows how kolto pack is so unnecessary you can be a damn good healer without even knowing what it is. still, i like it for when im sitting on plenty of energy and 3 uhs, or less freqently when im afraid a circles gonna pop under me or something and i wont have the time uwm.
  6. and i hate it when i call an orbital strike on top of a friendly healer thats getting pummeled and they run out of it, so we're even
  7. only difference i see on shadowlands is pubs have way more healers, due to sage/sorc role disparity pretty entirely. means sometimes you get a random group of chain healing pubs in unranked that is pretty much immortal, since the amount of focus fire awareness needed just doesnt exist in pugs.
  8. try swapping in some power/surge enhancements, about 75% is ideal
  9. boundless ages is the power one, but yeah the wh version is pretty awesome
  10. 1. make all non-internal/elemental attacks shieldable 2. daily quests for open-world pvp 3. alter resolve: current format really just encourages stuns as being rotational. i think a system based on whitebarness being based on how much of the resolve bar is filled at a given instant (like above 50% resolve is white) would discourage the stun wars aspect, also staggering of extent of resolve granted by different abilities: enough for a few seconds of whitebarhood from a hard stun like dirty kick, not quite enough from a break-on-damage soft stun/mez (whirlwind, flashbang, tranq), even less than that from knockbacks and pulls (overload, grapple) and just a little bit from roots-not being able to move ones character in an environment as dynamic as pvp absolutely entails 'losing control', albeit to a lesser extent than a stun.
  11. the green dot is not the thing he does whie on the pipes, that's a straight damage ability called noxious spit as i recall. it may apply the green dot, but the green does negligible damage. only times i have trouble healing savrak is when more than a couple people consistently get The Clap.
  12. on your build, id recommend moving the insta-charged burst proc to the 30% extra absorption from defense screen, keeping in mind that with the gcd being 1.5 seconds, all you gain from an instant cb is is frontloadedness, not worthwhile for pve at all and typically pretty fail in pvp as well. on the other hand, if you do pvp, be sure to pick up the added slow to shock charge, otherwise keep the points on the free sabcharge/incendiary following sabotage. also id recommend going further into one of the other trees instead of 5 and 5. the top target dummy pve rotation i've tried is 2/31/8, picking up the 6% booster from ss and the vital shot boosters in tier 2 from df. personally though i use 10/31/0 for the sake of ballistic dampers, again a must for pvp, then 20% armor penetration for aimed shot and another pvp quality of life choice with 1/2 leg shot. speaking of which aimed shot is, though not high priority, rotational, as much for the fact that its slow-cast /low-cost nature makes it quite energy friendly. however, dont stress energy too much, since you effectively have a 1 minute cooldown on cool head thanks to sabotage-which is the only thing you want to use it for in a boss fight, and if you hit 60% energy a few free quick shots are all thats needed.
  13. i just got good at rotating with right mouse button, hold it down good half of every match.
  14. i stopped trying to read politely when i saw op thought back blast=shiv. i play both sides because im not stuck in the dark ages, and on shadowlands i find i that pubs are tougher simply b/c imps are typically less interested in teamwork and pubs have noticeably more healers (due to sage/sorc role disparity mostly). still, win/loss extremely balanced, number of omgwthjusthappened good premades about equal and my biggest factional gripes are a)underworld medicine is way more obviously distinguishable in its name from other casts than the 'main heals' of other classes, theoretically making it more likely to be properly recognized and interrupted and b) orbital strike makes big booms whereas flyby just puts fire on the ground nobody is 'always' going to be on a bad team, but a bad player will always feel like they are.
  15. yep, 'broken', but since even free overload shot spam isnt gonna be good enough for any boss or decent player, i can understand why it isn't mentioned much, compared to a serious issue like entrench not working in natural cover.
  16. animation to shiv looks faster but damage is delivered at the same time, and back blast's mirror talent is backstab, which, you guessed it, does require being behind the target.
  17. when a sniper 'turns' in cover they just kinda twist around, and as it seems to me(from playing sniper, 'behind' me just means opposite the cover screen. i would've thought that even simpler than properly identifying on the fly which way someone is facing/turning (without a good stun to make it easy at least). or maybe that's just me trying to defend the debatable op-ness of autoface.
  18. lolsmash! that said, sents are frustrating mainly because theyre everywhere, i feel like im being jumped at by rift lurkers or something when they jump at me inwaves.i dont have any problems with ptpts, not sure why tbh. maybe if i couldnt kill them before theyre in flameburst range id understand the qq. frankly, the only thing that conistently annoys me about tor pvp is how incredibly dumb some pugs can be. when i get a bad run i go do something else for a while. whereas if pvp was the only thing i enjoyed in life, this game would have lost me a long time ago.
  19. at some point in pretty much every endgame fp or ops boss, im gonna get hit by some stray damage, and med screen is a great way to quickly recover. plus it makes for some pretty satisfying heal crits. i appreciate the little kolto pack shout-out, love that spell. perfectly balacned between emp and uwm, and last time i checked (which granted was before 1.2) was our best hpe (discounting emp and ds) and hps ability. highly situational, in the longest fights ill only use it a few times, but its such a quick and effective talent i get a warm fuzzy feeling every time i do. dont forget the rate limit on srm's proc, and more importantly the reduction in this limit based on uh stack count. effect is that no, one uh is not just as good as 3, and if you can keep just 3 people hotted at any given time you can practically guarantee a proc every 6 gcds if you stay at 2-3 stacks of uh. be sure, if you decide to use cool head, to truly bottom out first so you dont over-regenerate, easy to do with the instand 16 it gives. also dont be afraid to pop it early. sooner its used, sooner it can be used again. just be sure to stagger major cooldowns, essentially cool head, clicky relic and an adrenal if necessary, so you'll always have access to something, even if its just a little more oomph to some diagnostic spam and/or active srms. Most importantly, under no circumstances should you use tionese, columi or rakata field medic boots. they are so disgusting that if anyone in your group happens to catch a glimpse of them without properly steeling themselves during a fight they will seize up for a moment, losing precious time and probably stand in a circle.
  20. if youre a gunslinger then you'll use both blasters for vital shot. if you're a scoundrel i have no idea what you're talking about.
  21. i use the pvp boundless ages, but a matrix cube is good in terms of passive boost too, and a clicky alacrity since it helps with bost burst healing and energy regen via diagnostic. granted, at endgame lvl stats it only shaves a second or two off msot casts, but its definitely very noticeable and valuable to me.
  22. i guard melee at the start of a match, since they'll be noticed first in a zerg. then switch to healers or any dps that gets focused. if you dont have guard bound and an ops frame large enough to satisfy a healer, i frankly think youre doing it wrong. some above poster mentioned sniper, and let me tell ya, a guarded sniper at south novare is just godly. pocket healer is even better, but point is there are situations where different classes should get guard. alderaan mid is 'shoot the target' central, so pretty much always guard a healer there, whereas novare or voidstar i usually guard dps, showing favoritism to snipers since i play one, and know how insane their denial is, and just keep an eye on health bars to see if i should switch. huttball heck just guard whoevers in range.
  23. smug and agent have the makings already, bh would definitely have to be some weird alien thing (love the idea of a voss companion, though not sure if bh is the right class for it) and really i dont think itd be that weird for a trooper to have a low-ranking jedi 'liason' or something on the crew.
  24. idiots will still stand in it trying to cap. smart players never did
