  1. I don't get why some think it's too short. Have you seen all the daily GSI missions that are available on Makeb, Hoth, Tatooine, Alderaan? There's at least a week's worth of missions right there, and they're repeatable for good rewards. Add in the new operation and the incredibly long macrobinoculars/seeker droid stuff and that is a crazy amount of content. Smh.
  2. Second this. I'm on the Bastion and have seen three republic players the entire time I've been on Makeb and I'm just now at level 53. I saw more on Tatooine while doing part of the macrobinocular/seeker droid quests than on Makeb.
  3. Initial bump. And our Republic guild is called <Red October Standing By> if you'd like to check out the republic side!
  4. Hey, you! Yes, you, over there! Stop shocking that prisoner for a few moments and read this. <Meatbag Syndicate> is looking for new members as people return to the game and explore Makeb. We accept all levels and all skill, for PvE, PvP, and Raid progression. Formerly called <Coconut Monkeys>, the community guild of PC Gamer Magazine, we decided to relaunch ourselves and try to rebuild our numbers. At one point in time we had over 300 active members, three guild bank vaults, and had completed all raid progression up to Hard Mode Terror From Beyond. Visit us at www.coconut-monkeys.com (site name change coming soon) and see what we're all about. My character, Larrdarr, is GM, please contact me with any questions or if you'd like to join. Thanks!
  5. FWIW, the 7870 is what AMD considers their peak "performance line" card. It is often on sale for not too much more than the 7850. I bought an MSI Twin Frozr 7870 and it has worked great. Newegg has an excellent Asus version on sale this week for $229 IIRC.
  6. Hey everyone, putting out a call for any players who are looking for a new home. Perhaps your old guild imploded, or you left the game for awhile, or you're coming back to the game in search of a fresh start! <Coconut Monkeys>, the guild founded by the community of PC Gamer Magazine, wants you! Check us out: http://coconut-monkeys.com/swtorhome We've been around since launch, originally on The Crucible Pits server. Our members pride ourselves on having a social yet hardcore environment complete with leveling, raiding, pvp and world pve. Read our forums, view an officer list, and apply! Thanks!
  7. You *think* you want Cathar, but oh how you people forget that Juhani the annoying character from KOTOR was a Cathar. Killing her when first meeting her was like a badge of honor because you spared yourself the agony of hearing "I WILL BE YOUR DOOM!" every time she was fighting someone. Yeah, can't wait until half the Cathar dialogue is some iteration of that.
  8. The group finder fails to take into account true human behavior. Queuing for tier 2 flashpoints solo is useless right now, because dumb players who haven't ever completed them still join the queue, and causes the group to wipe and unable to complete the instance. It needs to have a system where if three random people have been grouped and the 4th declines the queue, those three people can stay queued and wait for another person to join instead of being placed at the top of the queue and have that same 4th idiot decline the queue pop.
  9. In addition to it showing up on all your characters' ships, *anyone* can use it if they come on your ship. Example: I bought one using a subsidy from my guild's bank, and several guildmates came onto my ship and bought their crafting buff. Nice little feature.
  10. I'm on a west coast server now (Crucible Pits) and it died last month. The republic side was dead for months but now the rest of the bulk of players have given up waiting for new content. Keep in mind Fatman is an east coast server but that's really the only heavy population server left IMO. Definitely worth a reroll if you're sticking with the game.
  11. planet to fully explore: Dathomir, Dantooine PvP planet: Mandalore, since Ilum was a big bust. World PvP planet: Onderon/Dxun Raid planet: Yavin IV
  12. Have low server populations got you down? Do you feel a chronic sense of loneliness and despair over that time your raid group fell just one person short of starting, every time that happens? Friends, there is a guild that would be happy to have you in our family! We are Coconut Monkeys, the official PC Gamer Magazine community guild, and we want YOU! We play on the lovely West Coast Server, The Crucible Pits. You may be thinking, "Come on now, there is nothing to do in the game anymore, why would I join a guild now?" Well, patch 1.2 is about 12 hours away, and we want to scoop up all the displaced players who have been hovering over that unsubscribe button for weeks, but keep holding out hope that our beloved Crucible Pits population will come back. We love PC Gamer, and so do you. Play with us and never look back to those days of being stuck on the fleet listening to that god-awful cantina song that always plays. Join Coconut Monkeys now and get a free Orange Julius upon admission!* OK, so if you've read this far, what now? Jump on over to our fabulous website, www.coconut-monkeys.com and fill out a simple application form (just a formality, we wouldn't turn you away. We're not the IRS.) That's it, you're done! *Offer will not be honored, as Orange Julius locations seem to only exist in 1995
