  1. Expect more Mercs when 2.0 hits because we finally get a good CC, electro net.
  2. if you find me examples where a base stat was nerfed and I will listen. I just dont ever recall it happening in wow, or any TQ game. Prior to x-pacs they have revamped the entire stat systems but largely they leave stats unignored. you will be surprised. Dev teams do largely stay clear of ever fiddling around with stats, themselves. Most nerfs/buffs in MMO history have been with skill trees and abilities. Not stats themselves.
  3. In game Metrics is showing the dev team that the top pvp teams and PVE guilds are modding with power/surge. So instead of doing the leg work, going out in game, actually seeing how and why this is happening, they just assume a quick nerf to Surge will fix this. With such in game metrics, its easy to assume Surge/Power mod is powerful. However what is frustrating, rather than look at Accuracy and Alacrity (stats that absolutley suck beyond belief) they decide to nerf the only stat that is helping hardcore guilds down Soa in 16 man Nightmare. Lest I remind you that is the hardcore player base that decides if this game lives or dies. We own the websites that promote this game from torhead to torspy and all the review sites. Its the hardcore player base that made Wow successful over the years too. We perpetuated the success of the genre and game. No, we arent entitled. But yea keep going to our websites and using our youtube strat guides to down your bosses. Keep crying nerf when we beat you in pvp with stims and adrenals, blame the surge mods all you want. Dont even consider our rakata/BM tank just downed a 50% damage reduction pot before scoring, which is why you couldnt touch him. I think in game metrics are just flawed. It showed that the top pvp teams were winning with Power/Surge mods and some pve gear (rakata weapons especially). The metrics dont reveal how many times I pop a adrenal or stim the same time as my other Sorc DPS, so we can focus fire and peel targets off the tank. The In game metrics doesn't reveal the intesne strategic decisions we make in vent VS other pvp based premades. Basically PVE premades were beating the pvp premades. Because Pve premades actually had 1-2 good tank runners and 2 healers (just like a raid) and pvp premades are sloppy and lacking order 1/2 the time. We'd pvp after clearing HM/NM soa, and faceroll other premades most the time. We had all rakata/BM where they will often have a few guys in subpar gear. Metrics wont reveal this. Bioware, please. just buff alacrity and accuracy. I know its slightly more work, but its much better to buff primary/basic/secondary stats than it is to nerf them. However leaving them alone is best.
  4. Clearly you have never fought Nightmare Soa nor have a clue what it means to work for your progression. move along, your post makes no sense whatsoever. scrubs like you killed wow. now you are killing tor. you assume too much sir. I have at least 8 peices of rakata tokens I haven't turned in because I was waiting for idiotic nerfs like this because its clear the dev team is doing the best job they can. they are just struggling to make all the scrubs like you happy. because EA is down their backs all the time because greed rules the world. Most hardcores realize this is a paper canoe, its the scrubs that keep *********** up the fun for everyone else. Its not about me having to regear, Im in one of the top guilds in the world. gear isnt a problem for me. Im outspoken for you. your ingorance permeates your being. I do sympathize. But I can not help you. I will always have the most efficient mods/gear set up. For me, its no problem. Its the principle. Plain and unbiased. The principle of nerfing a stat is unprecedented and unheard of in the history of MMO's.
  5. Bioware, the only way guilds are clearing buggy nightmare Soa is with Surge. Surge as is, is already a difficult stat to obtain due to the caps you have to hit prior to obtain Surge. This is a slap to the face of virtually every hardcore guild that clears nightmare. How can Sorcs and Ops heal through buggy Soa aoe, and tossing people at the wrong time? They can't. How can Merc DPS and Sorc DPS maintain enough damage on Soa nightmare last phase to cause him to not enrage and kill everyone? Surge has been the saving grace for PVE progression on bosses like Soa. Now you toss it literally a blind nerf. We know you haven't even tested it much. because its stupid. You have to let Surge alone. Its one the only end game stat currently where players have to spend time grinding out the mods. Without it, i have no reason to log in today, literally. I was going to farm a Surge/power mod for raid tomrrow. I looked forward to playing, maybe even do a daily or 2. It kept me interested. You are simplifying a game even more and more. Most of us like the complicated grind, most of us like the fact we have to actually work for our gear unlike Pokemon er I mean World of Warcraft. PLEASE STOP TRYING TO BE A WOW CLONE!!! The demographic of gamers you have are the mature ones. keep it that way. Why is it, a fresh new 50 complains and you cater to them?? *** is your problem and what are you smoking? you are catering to a minority here. the aderoll/ritalin generation that will just drop this for GW2 or the next big thing.
  6. caps and diminishing returns depend on class. SI and BH can easily hit 90% Surge without messing up primary stats and caps. in fact 50/90 is my magic number with Tracer missle spam. 50% crit 90% surge 100% accuracy I'll be there when 1.1.2 updates my Rakata weapons.
  7. ^ alternatively, you can craft the augmented Columi implants for yourself and they are currently BiS.
  8. Remember the good old days of Vanilla Wow and EQ when you actually had to work for the gear you earned. And you were HAPPY to do so! Remember farming countless hours of Alterac Valley turning in Wolf Pelts for reputation so you could, hopefully, a few weeks or a month or 2 down the road have a cool epic weapon! LOBO! And the gear meant something! It wasn't something that people complained about and demanded. Remember the good old days when you first reached max level in your class, you got roflstomped in PVP by players that rightfully outgeared you. And you wouldnt complain once. It was understood. You were a newb and needed to get gear. MMO's aren't fair. And thats why you play them. to gear up and be better than those around you. Where did all this sense of entitlement come into play? Its ridiculous guys. Everyone expects free handouts these days.
  9. lol qft, ugly duckling coming around. Please also understand folks, when you are getting blasted for upwards of 4k with a Tracer Missle, the BH doing it is exceptionally geared and spent coutnless hours farming out the right mods for his gear. usually a mix of ALL the crafted Augmented Rakata bracers/belt/implants, 2 piece Rakata for set bonus (most players go with helm for looks), 2 Rakata weapons(absolutely essential for spec, customizability of Rakata weapons make them leagues better than pvp weapons).and the rest is Battle Master gear with farmed out mods (usually power/surge and crit/surge mods) as well. (still sit on 6-7% Expertise) Any class that is min/maxed geared will do well if the pilot has 1/2 a braincell in Tor PVP, since the pvp system is failry uncomplicated.
  10. caps and diminishing returns depend on class. SI and BH can easily hit 90% Surge without messing up primary stats and caps. in fact 50/90 is my magic number with Tracer missle spam. 50% crit 90% surge 100% accuracy I'll be there when 1.1.2 updates my Rakata weapons.
  11. Actually all the classes have a lack of customizability when it comes to Rakata gear. There is nothing wrong with replacing the accuracy mod with Crit/surge/power from columi. If you are already in full Rakata it should be easy for you to farm out the IA enforcer gloves a few times for the overpowered mod. Being a BH I wouldnt complain if I were you. Once you get the power/surge mods, and are spamming 4-5 5k tracer missles(adding proc damage from trink) theres no other class in the game that come close to you in damage and survivability. Most players dont realize the incredible amount of farming it goes into min/maxing your toon with mods. For instance with MERC DPS BH, there is only 1 Rakata mod worth having in the BH gear. The mod from the pyrotech Rakata gloves. So once you do gear out in Rakata, you have to replace EVERY SINGLE Rakata mod with a Pyrotech glove mod, then you have to replace the enhancement with the IA Enforcer columi gloves. Roughly 3 of those at least. Since you'll need 2 Rakata Accuracy mods to remain to still be accuracy capped. Even the Rakata weapons, you'll have to farm a few mods for them. such as myself, I want power so need 2 red black power color crystals. When I inspect people on the fleet im amazed at how newbed out in gear and unmodded most people are. Severely gimping themselves. ps- the mod you used totally blows compared the ones I mentioned. its ok for pvp i guess. Also if you are a serious player, craft your own epic Rakata gear for the Exceptional Augment. Craft your own Columi Implants for augments. Augments are a must have as they allow you to cap Accuracy, and help with crit/power/surge. Crafting your own Belt and bracers helps a ton.
  12. Melee is fine. I've cleared all content with a few marauders and an Operative, with an assassin Tank. 2 Marauders in an 8 man are pretty wicked since you can stack bloodlusts. The Bleed spec is tight in pve. I'd say well geared (min/maxed mod) Marauders are currently the second best consistent boss dps in raids after well geared ( min/maxed power/surge mod) MERC. The idea that snipers were tied with Mercs and doing more dps than Mauraders, I think, is situational. I've noticed Snipers can't deal high amounts of damage for a long period of time like Bleed Marauders can. In my personal opinion, if you arent taking a Marauder with you, at the very least, you are gimping your raid without Bloodlust.
  13. sup Retribution and all the OP's guildies replying here supporting your homey. Truth is though, the idea of guild elitism died some time into Cata when Blizzard realized they can spoon feed the masses raid content, make it simple, call it hard. Rake in the profits. ALL MMO's are now following suit. The idea of a 'hardcore' player has evolved quite a bit over the years. Nowadays everybody fancies themselves hardcore with purple shineys. oh yeah, and everyone is a genius. and everyone raids. and everyone thinks everyone else is a newb. Cash Rules Everything Around Me. As long as there are benjamins to be made, Blizzard and Bioware will never ever again make super difficult raid content with exclusive gear. I know some of us on one side of the spectrum are saying HEY!! make content harder!! more exclusive!! but dont fool yourself, we are the vast minority here. I agree with you though. just doesnt make cents.
  14. Having most of my BM gear and Rakata, without a doubt, Rakata mixed with some BM gear is the way to go. Rakata allows you to hit specific soft caps, that BM will NEVER do. Thus after you hit caps you can focus on Surge/crit mod or Surge/power mod. the 56 or 58 ones from Combat tech set glove/head, or the medium armor Enforcer gloves. For more HP, there is the BH helm/chest Columi piece that is an endurance based surge/power mod. Expertise fails on so many levels. In fact PVP gear fails on so many levels unless you have the right 56/58 PVE mods. Expertise doesnt negate crit %. And hardly offsets the insane Surge damage. With a stat like Surge, Critting is huge if you have auto crit abilities or 2 piece rakata BH set. Thus Surge in pvp at endgame, for top PVPers becomes a huge stat. Surge buffs damage more than Expertise. There are also huge stat differences between specific Rakata gear and BM gear. For instance Rakata Implants are vastly superior to Champion/BM implants, and offer more customization. For instance the 20 Aim and stats I gain from the Rakata implants actually more than makes up for Expertise. I know most of you won't undertsand this because you aren't raiding Nightmare nor are you a Battlemaster (actually Im already 65) but try to have an open mind. champion and BM welfare epics aren't that great for pvp other than the weapons because Rakata weps still bugged. In short, you cant PVP well in SWTOR without Hard mode/nightmare PVE mods.
