HMM, youve got to be doing something wrong... on my sorc(madness spec) i completed EVERY class quest (including Visions and Visionaries) 2-3 levels under the required level including Thanaton (beat him at 48), and on my tankassin did it again beating Thanaton at level 47. and i had no help other than my pet khem at 1st (andronikas on my assasin) then talos almost exclusively after he became avaliable. try adding accuracy its what i did! while useless to sorcs at 50 ,when leveling, and your r fighting NPCs 2-4 levels higher than you it makes a HUGE difference.

really, i did it w/ my madness specced sorc at 48 w/ xelek as my companion, thanaton is easy u just DoT then LOS pop a heal on companion rinse repeat. the key is accuracy!, i leveled my sorc w/o running alot of FPs or heroics so i was underleveled going into many of the quest chains. while useless at level 50 when attacking a target higher level that urself it makes a HUGE difference.

absolutely nothing wrong w/ Xalek, hes just as good as khem at tanking (assuming youve geared him right) and he can be a RANGED DPS to boot. Just turn off those pesky AOE abilities so he doesnt break CCs and he can inherit ur old gear, mine is nearly all epiced out he is definately my tank of choice.
