    Its a secret... Shhh!
  1. I agree, this gathering is a good way to speak to the devs directly but is unneccesary in regards to influencing the game. If the Devs have yet to be influenced by the forums, beta feedback, media pages (such as facebook and twitter), etc. then there is a problem and lacking of basic respect for the community. Yes, they cannot invite everyone in person, which is why I strongly feel that they should hold a Q&A online, or possibly open this gathering up to everyone via live video and chat. I don't know about you, but I'd rather speak for myself than have people I don't know represent me just because I was not chosen for whatever reason. As you have seen, not everyone sees eye to eye, and you'll notice I've just clashed with someone who clearly has different views and opinions as myself. Dose that me either of us should be excluded because we disagree? No, and thats where the problem lies.
  2. First off, you need to read the previous posts on this thread. Your assumptions about what I expect are ignorant at best. If they wanted to benefit "all of us", they wouldn't hold this for a select group of people from our entire community. Your mindset is twisted by your overwhelming fanboyism and personal opinions. As for the meeting itself, I never said the meeting was a bad thing, in fact the VERY first post I made clarified that I find this kind of meeting cool for those who enjoy such things. Even more so when it is neccessary. However, this gathering is 'unneccessary'. The forums, open media pages, beta feedback, etc. provide enough information from the entire population of the game to be able to cover most related subjects without showing favortism. I don't care how they sugar coat it, its an unneccessary PR stunt thats favoriting a select group of people. Period. In regards to "my type" being here, clearly you once again have not been reading the previous posts. If you honestly believe that I'm the only person complaining, your oblivious. You also have a twisted view about what "my type" is. You have no idea what good communication is because your too biased toward the game, company, or staff to no any better. Do I feel entitled to general information? Yes, I do and you should too. I pay my money every month and its worth the same amount of respect as everyone elses. The fact of the matter is, regardless of how they phrase it, they chose a select few to come to this, and then opened it up to a few leaders/officers who want to "pay their own way". Its even more insulting that the people who want to come have to go through an application process before being allowed to spend money to join. How many people do not participate in guilds? How many people cannot come because of finaces? How many people live outside of the US? Entitlement here means nothing more than equality in the way that information should always be provided. So once again, yes, I feel entitled. In regards to where you work, I could care less. Though, to throw this back into your face, I worked for customer support for multiple industries for years and I know how things function. Standard curtosies do not involve cutting out a majority of your population, clients, etc. just to address specific problems, questions or concerns. If you honestly think thats good management, then I feel sorry for you. As for "people like me" being the reason why they're deciding to be selective, you don't know me outside of this post, and yet your suddenly an expert on who I am, what I like or dislike, and how I act. Your arrogance is astounding, and when it comes down to it, I find that for someone who works in customer support, your far from being the shade of gray thats typically neccessary to handle relations with other people. You may not choose me to go, but I wouldn't want to represent someone like you anyways. My views are not so linear.
  3. So basically, you've gotten to the point where your just going to give us the finger and tell us to enjoy? Once again, you prove to be an amazing tactician, Stephen. Bravo.
  4. Exactly. BioWare can coat it with whatever topping they like, but it dosen't change the fact that its; 1) A huge money sink for anyone not invited. 2) Unneccessary on all fronts, since they have the means to awnser anything that needs to be addressed here. 3) a huge and unneccessary PR stunt.
  5. Yes, clearly your overwhelming maturity is exactly what these forums need, instead of the people who complain about valid points. Go play with your legos and let the big boys handle the forums. Your clearly out of your league.
  6. Clearly, the people who want information to be provided to everyone on equal footing are the ones who "don't have their heads on straight." I think you should reconsider your personal views before making an attempt at calling out others.
  7. I would applaud you if this wasn't cherry picking to the maxium degree. Allow me to correct this a bit. "we hate bioware, they never communicate!" While generally posted by people who have no base to their claims, BioWare is not exactly a shining star in regards to their communication right now. They're struggling a little bit and everyone can see it. "we are holding a guild summit in order to open communication" This would be great if it was not only for "guild leaders and officers". They're limiting "communication" to a small and very specific group of people, which by the way, is completely unequivilant when you consider that not everyone is in a guild to begin with. "we hate bioware all they do is communicate when they should be fixing the game!" Most people who complain about this are referring to the fact that the communication being provided is limited to a small amount of people, located in a very specific area of the "US". A large majority of players are not even from the US and noone even knows if this information is going to be open to everyone else immediately or not or to what degree the Q&A session will go to. BioWare might be providing information, but this is a sloppy way of doing it.
  8. This is exactly what I was concerned with too. Do they really expect certin types of guilds to be able to represent the entire population of the game?
  9. The fact of the matter is this; if they're trying to get 'more' awareness about the game while showing equality, limiting it to ONLY guild leaders and officers is foolish. When push comes to shove, noone should have to be in a specific state "in-game" to be elidgable to participate in a Q&A session. You might be able to give 50 reasons as to why everyone should be in a guild so as to negate the issue, but someone else is probably going to return with 50 reasons why they shouldn't have to be, and they're absolutely correct. Everyone is entitled to play the game how they want, guild or no guild, because of the fact that they're paying for a service. Everyones money is worth the same, so with that being said, this "invitation process" is utterly stupid. EDIT: Oh, and the entire basis of this Q&A session can be easily communicated via YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, the forums, etc. Seems like a massive oversight or a one sided decision.
  10. This entire 'event' is cool for those who are interested in that sort of gathering, but when push comes to shove, this seems like pointless PR ********. Do we really need guild leaders/officers to convey the problems, questions, and concerns for the entire SWTOR pop? I hardly think so, especially when some people are overly biased. I know BioWare cares about the game and its community to an extent, but holding a conference about what needs to be fixed when you have things like tickets flooding in, forums being stacked with problems and suggestions, beta feedback, etc,; This entire gathering seems like a pointless money sink. I love SWTOR and I love BioWare (I hate EA), but I feel like they could be using that time on something far more beneficial. This is just one mans opinion, try not to bash.
  11. I agree with this idea. Color Crystals should be pureply cosmetic with the stats being static to each weapon you get. I hate having to try to keep my stats at peak, while losing the color I enjoy using (such as going from mageta to blue just because I get 10 more crit rating). That or as you mentioned, give us a way to combine or upgrade our current crystals to match the other components of our weapons. Now, it is true that we don't HAVE to upgrade our crystals, but I enjoy having high stats while retaining my color preference. Not to mention, I do NOT enjoy being a Dark V Jedi with blue crystals. I want my Red, or Orange, or whatever to match my character.
  12. Thats great to hear, but it dose not excuse them from posting a reply or offical thread about the situation(s). BioWare/EA are suppost to be a professional company. This is unprofessional.
  13. Typical remark from someone who enjoys the advantages of the Imperial side. You can claim that you just "want to be an IA instead of a IA/Smuggler" all day long. However, when push comes to shove you just want to enjoy the advantages handed to you on a silver platter. If you really want equality, then you should be voting for balance on a game that claims to host "mirrored or equivillant" classes, instead of voting to keep the unbalanced build. Every mainstream Imperial I see who tries to support their arguments with arrogance and moot points always have the same things to say. "Stop crying", "roll an IMP", "Keep the diversity", etc. I'll tell you a little secret, if they wanted true diversity, they wouldn't have promoted mirrored classes in the first place. If BioWare promotes equality, I expect just that. Oh, and before anyone decides to throw pointless retorts at me; I play Imperial AND Republic characters, but I do not accept the unbalanced favortism that the developers decided to give to the IMPs over the REPs. So, my question now is this; When are you going to post an offical reply BioWare/EA? Do you honestly believe your going to keep your population just by ignoring us?
  14. Same here, and I just spoke to a friend who pre-ordered three freaking weeks ago and they got in.
