  1. Heh, you might have a point there. But that´s why maybe one hairdresser per planet might be already enough.
  2. I feel the same, but I don´t understand how you need to grind. Just do the starting planet, then hop on flashpoints and do the story missions as you quickly raise your level via the flashpoints. In fact, I have the opposite complaint, as I cannot do every side quest including the flashpoints at their proper level without having them seriously outleveled in no time.
  3. I thought I might drop by and ask you guys, since you have Gree ingenuity and whatnot: Where did the hairdressers go? I mean, come on! You cannot expect a woman to style up the same on Coruscant as on stinky Taris, right? If the ancient expression "living behind the moon" means something to you guys, what do you think the expression "living behind Illum" does entail, hairstyle-wise? So, get yourself some omnitools (you now where to get those from, right?), and install some hairdresser droids, and do so pronto! Yours Onika Falkenherz
  4. Hi all! I am a completionist, so I want to do every content there is. The problem is that leveling is too fast and you end up playing a lot of low level quests. I wonder if you could put in a slider which, say, halves all experience reveived, so that I am always at an appropriate level for a given planet. Right now, if you do any flashpoints or space missions, you are quickly outleveling the story quests and they thus become very boring as there is no challenge any more. Thanks for considering!
  5. Prepare SRM, SRM, UWM, UWM then start fight with Grenade, Blaster Barrage, Blaster Barrage, Blaster Whip, Grenade, Blaster Barrage, Blaster Barrage (if SRM proc). Which Class can do more burst area damage than that?
  6. Same here. Everything has to fit and I am leveling my fourth character right now. One reached level 50. But it is not so bad, because the gameplay at 50 still needs a bit of development anyways and I can truly explore the maps and the different storylines in multiple playthroughs. I started with an Operative and he was cool most of the time, but in endgame, he feels bland. Also, I got fed up with all those evil Sith-obeying quests and defected to the Republic, even if it meant leaving behind a perfectly harmonizing group. I tried a Guardian but got fed up with the armor choices; I never see my hair, and the face unter the hood just looks weird. I tried a Shadow, but they just look like gay hermits. Seriously, they must be played as female to make some good looking at all. Also, just one word: pebbles! Then I tried a male fat Gunslinger, but being pure damage dealer is so boring after a while. Right now I am back again to the roots with a female Scoundrel, because I liked the thought of being married to a tank companion who at least has some normal looks, hairstyle included (pun to evil Kalyo intended). But Corso turns out to be a little boring compared to Risha, and playing female feels weird once you loose touch with the storyline (somehow that happened to me right after I got Risha as a companion; also those "save the republic" generic quests don´t really fit to the smuggler´s class, anyways). AND I WANT T7 AS A COMPANION! (*cry*) And, my, I am so torn with the crew skills! Biochem was cool but that´s my character on the Empire´s side, so bye. Armstech was not enough yield for the money. Synthweaver, well, nothing really looked good AND ALL WITH HOODS GAAAAH... Cybertech is the most fun, as I can slot all kinds of mods except for enhancements. But I somehow miss Biochem, as I somehow can´t stand waisting extra money on stims. Right now, my perfectionism drives me to the following plan: 1. Level a Vanguard with Armormech to experience your full heroic feeling in all those generic quests, plus the armors look decent and I can finally make use of all those armor recepies which already dropped while leveling my Cybertech Smuggler. 2. Level a Guardian who can wear orange trooper armor with mods provided by my cybertech smuggler, doing biochem for being an optimal endgame tank. But, then, I still don´t know which character really is or should be my main, the one I can most identify with in terms of story, character and playstyle alike. It is probably a male scoundrel (though I would even like more a mix of Scoundrel´s blaster and Operative´s knifes).... and here I have to level again anew... sigh.... Gameplay wise, I would want to fully experience every generic quest, after which I could settle with just the storyline and resort for leveling to Flashpoints, Piloting and PvP. But then, again, my maincharacter should have achieved everything so back to all generic quests for the n-th time... sigh... Bottomline, I can feel your dilemma, as I feel it in similar ways.
  7. I would be happy to have such a system. At least, an autotargeting laso for melee attacks would be already half of the cake.
  8. If I throw a grenade or do a ranged attack, an enemy gets auto targeted. Doing a melee attack warrants no auto target which means it fails if you just came from a heal. Having auto target would greatly increase click times, as it is often difficult to click on a fast moving enemy. With auto target, I could SRM, blasterwhip, EMP, SRM, Quickshot in a row without using any mouseclicks on a target. This would be much faster and much more comfortable.
  9. I don´t think the top tiers are broken. Increased criticals from UWM and EMP have saved my groups butt multiple times, just by giving me the time one or two cd more to wrestle out more healing on the group.
  10. Yeah, as many have already pointed out, it is not hard at all if you keep from engaging the Sith chick and concentrate on the fat man. If you or your companion takes aggro from the Sith chick, you are done because she does insane damage. Tanking her, that´s what you have the Jedi chick for. It is a simple riddle, really.
  11. Administration. I know a little bit of everything. I play a smuggler healer. Because this class can do a little bit of everything...
  12. Same here. There was a huge number of scoundrels online on the fleet. By huge, I mean almost as much as Jedi Shadows...
  13. Thank you for your insights, which read very interesting. I stated already that Project/Shadowstrike do indeed feel like BAM!, it is just that the rest seems to get drowned in Force starvage so that I have to use the standard attack much more often than with any other class I have played so far, so I feel less in control. I want to go kinetic combat 31, so force in balance is out of the equation. So far I made up the following heavy hitter combos: Slow Time (30) -> Force Breach (20), so you are about 2/3 force. AoE: Whirling Blow (40) and you are down to 1/3 force; maybe Force Wave (20) and you are out of force. Single Target: Double Strike (25) -> Project (45) and you are out of force. Project (45) -> Shadowstrike (50) and you are out of force. For me it seems there is a lot of filler time where you need to regenerate force, or either you have to apply your combos very rarely and carefully chosen. I am not used to that feeling from the other classes, as with them, I always had the feeling that there was "something to do" apart from spamming standard attack. Well, it sure is a lot of matter of taste involved. I just want some feedback from other players.
  14. I started a Jedi shadow and am at level 13 right now. I already levelled Smugglers and a Guardian. So far, the Shadow´s gameplay is the most boring for me: I usually run in and do a Project/Shadowstrike combo to kill the first mob. Then I have to wait for my Force to regenerate again. Force Wave mitigates damge for a short time, but forces me to run after the mobs. Telekinetic Throw is a very boring channelled spell, if compared to for example the Guardian´s blade storm channel. Other than than I use Double Strike/Saberstrike for the rest of combat or I just spam Saberstrike until I can use the Project/Shadowstrike combo again. All in all, a lot of running-after-mobs and except for Project/Shadowstrike nothing really which makes me really feel BAM!, a feeling that for example Troopers in general seem to revel in, and Smugglers and Guardians definitely do, too (backblast BAM! or Force Jump/Force Blade BAM!). Is this just me, am I too low level for "the kick", or am I doing something wrong?
  15. A big hug to Bioware for resolving many issues so quickly. I have a dual core CPU, and the fixes removed almost all issues I had. Now, it is only some performance issues, as I experience some very annyoing lags ("real" lags) during group play.
  16. Strange behaviour here. I have a razor naga mouse and a logitech g15 keyboard. All mouse buttons except left and right don´t work. At the keyboard, the key "T" does not work as a "next target" button, but something like "alt-gr-T" does. Strange.
  17. I have an Operative medic at 50 and am leveling a Scoundrel sawbone. For me, this is the most flexible, most fun class. My tactics are simliar to those described, just want to add some details: I specced fully medic/sawbones because the +30% critical talent seemed important ot me, and the step to 31 was very close then anyway. Also, I found that the ultimate talent skill kolto cloud/rec nanotech can be rarely upheld when you are already very busy in upkeeping slow rel medpacks/kolto probes on two or three party members, all the while healing the tank or an endangered damage dealer with the cast/instant combination of underw medicine/kolto injection->emergency medpack/surgery probe. (It would really be helpful if the basic cast heal would automatically refresh your hot.) You can employ different strategies according to the situation at hand: 1. Damage - Standard pure damage priorities with all your "backstab" attacks from behind can be even amplified by quickly covering at place in between to add the high-damageing sabotage probe/explosive probe whenever ready. - For even more damage on silver+ mobs don´t forget to apply the dot shot vital shot/corrosive dart. - Area damage situations warrant a grenade on the weakest enemy, which is preferrably also tackled first by your companion/group members; killing it gives you upper hand/tactical advantage to use up for an immediate follow-up area damage by blaster barrage (forgot the skills´ names). After that, grenade is ready again so that you basically can provide for nonstop and high(-est?) area damage. - On non-weak mobs, always prefer crowd-control over area damage. It makes for faster victories, trust me. 2. Healing - In fp, convince the tank to guard a damage dealer and heal from cover. Those few standard adds who focus on you are easily tanked by you behind cover. - Even when healing, if you should get bored, do a backblast/backstab or throw the high-damaging sabotage probe/explosive probe whenever ready. - In general, NOT concentrating all damage on the tank can help to alleviate burst healing pressure, an issue our class has probably the most problems with in comparison to the other healing classes. However, the tank always should take about 2/3 of the incoming total damage, or your healing gets to thin stetched over the group and you will fail. - Standard castbar 2.0s heal plus instant heal is the most energy efficient way, but in burst situations you might want to switch to the cast 2.0s heal + 1.5s heal: Upholding this drains energy very fast but it provides for the highest healing burst you can achieve. For emergencies. Don´t forget to upkeep the hot-healing, either, or you will not achieve this high burst healing. (As I already pointed out, it is even more difficult to maintain the 31-heal spell, especially in this tight situation, as well) 3. Equipment and XP - Use orange equipment asap. Upgrade the mods with commendations instead of buying new armor, as the former requires overall less commendations and you will soon have a top-notch all-orange equipment. - Do the same for your tank-companion. If you can afford, equip also your best damage dealing companion; following the above healing hints will enable you to use a damage dealer as a tank for most situations except for few certain elite mobs. - Running flashpoints is preferable in terms of both gaining good equipment, experience and even commendations. If you have guildmates at your disposal, to it. If not, wait for a kind of wow-dungeonfinder. -.- - Running space fights in between is a fast way to get XP, too. But your healing skills get rusty. Conclusion: If you follow these tips, you will soon get bored by the standard quests, even when you are one or two levels below, because the fights get incredibly easy. If it wasn´t for a certain weakness in burst-situations, I would call the Scoundel sawbone/Operative medic the most OP class available right now alone by its sheer flexibility.
  18. Wah, I have levelled both a Chiss Operative and a Human Scoundreless, and I discovered that I am not made for sinister things. Taking a light side and cracking a joke over a corellian beer and charm the next handsome lass is more fun for me than wondering whether/when that Sith lady is going to electrocute you after the first night, or fetching some torture droids for questioning captured Jedi, or invading a hospital to make sure the injured guerillia fighters will never again cause an unrest. . Besides, role-playing a female smuggler on a RP server still makes some ppl think I am actually a damsel in distress. You still get helped by from time to time in very gentlemen fashion.
  19. WoW Guild functionality includes a "have group, want to travel" button which summons the members of a group on spot. Very handy, and I miss this a lot in TOR.
  20. While the different stories do indeed have their ups and downs, I can only agree on the combat. I never had so much fun in combat since my early X-COM days and that´s quite a different style. The range of tacical situations and the possible responses to it makes it almost never boring. They are enough similarities to quickly make you feel home in each class, and yet there is a lot of differentiation on battle strategies to make it so much fun. So far I touched all classes except for Trooper/BH, as those seem to be the most easy/vanilla to play out in combat... Also, Bioware did a lot to remove the early lag issues, at least for my system spec, and now I am really having a BLAST playing this game. And I did not even touch PvP yet (which I started early in early day-WoW just to get more tactical challenge). My only issue is that most of the time, I have to walk a lot to actually get to the action.
  21. I am playing both an Operative and a Scoundrel healer and I use cover on a regular basis. As a Scoundrel at level 19 on Taris, in the h4 "Locust" mission the Guardian tank and a Commando DD went down due to LOS/range mistakes (los or force leap in the middle of a cast, jay!), I was then cover tanking the two remaining golds while the remaining Commando DD helped shooting them down. It was amazing, and the Trooper instantly wanted to have the cover mechanic for his class, too. IMO it is perfectly viable to off-tank one or multiple adds via cover mechanics. If the tank is bad and also runs out of guardian shield range, you even get free aggro for doing so...
  22. WoW took seven years to give sound and centered monitor feedback, which was provided much earlier by mods like aura or similar. I too really hope that Bioware provides for an alternative to those microspcopic icons above your health bar!
  23. I am currently leveling a consular and trying to defy these forded-upon clichée things you mention. The key is shadow with medium moddable armor.
  24. Some say wear a helmet and in the prefences, toggle "shot headpiece" off. Well, that does not work. I am looking for something like the Tython commendation chest piece, a bit more armor-ish, but with the hood drawn back. I took synthweaving and had hoped for some more free choices as to style. Am I mistaken and synthweave only offers hooded chestpieces?
  25. Concerning Yana-Ton and her Emails, I think there is a bug. You get a one where her brother despairs and she sort of wanders off and one where she seems content how it turned out, except for most probably not seeing you again. Those two emails were probably meant to be mutually exclusive, depending whether you treated her bad or nice. The marriage with her was impressive, especially since I had my true partner watch it all (err--- well not really everything...), but somehow after the ceremony started, it wasn´t an "elaborate theater piece" anymore... very cool story, it packs emotion!
