  1. I agree my tone is very frustrated. You are incorrect. I am exactly the customer they should want to keep. I am the customer who subscribes to a game he likes for many years. I am exactly who Bioware should want. But I agree my tone is angry. Several issues are going on. I am still frustrated that I made new characters due to population issues on my original server. Future legacy importments and my legacy's are fragmented due to population issues. I will say with absolute certainty that these population issues are the result of some mistakes made by Bioware. Ilum, no ranked warzones in 1.2, etc. Yet here I am paying my monthly fee because I love this game and want to see it succeed.
  2. Actually you are incorrect. Part of customer intimacy is understanding why your customer's left and winning back their business. I am saying that censorship further fractures the relationship between the customer and Bioware. Bioware is actually who loses by being less likely to have the customer return. This is due to Bioware having customer intamacy issues basically. "How dare you not pay me my subscription fee. What your breaking up with me? No your not. You can never post on my forums again."
  3. You have no right to make that claim based on the desires of paying customers. I am a paying customer and I want people to be able to express their opinion if they purchased the game. In some cases they are expressing serious issues which lead to them putting the game down. I am not saying that all the whining is legitimate. It most definately is not. What I am saying is that by censoring the community it is actually Bioware that gets hurt by not having all the voices necessary to make a good decision. I have been here from the beginning. I have been very patient. I haven't complained about much even though I have been frustrated about many things for a long time. I know that if Bioware listen's to the wrong people, like you, it will be the death of the game.
  4. Well I am a paying customer and I got censored. Bioware does not apparently want to listen to me. I am a customer whom Bioware knows nothing about. Believe it or not I am their target audience. They SHOULD be listening to me.
  5. I beg to differ. I had no intention of jumping into this. I barely post on the forums anyways. I was reading the developer tracker and what I read disturbed me. When I posted and had some people automatically refute my position and start defending yours. When I clicked on their name and saw that their friend on their friends list was a Bioware Staff Member it made sense. Sure this person is going to defend his friend. I will be honest it made me think even worse things as well. Such as is this person a Bioware intern (I once suggested that Bioware hire interns to pupulate warzones on dieing servers). I did not realize that interns would be hired to support Biowares claims. But I do not have any proof of that. So I will withdraw my claim that the individual in question is an intern for bioware. However is it not a bit strange when the person's "friends list" has the Staff Member whom he is defending. That is evidence and yes. BIoware you don't want that out. Come on boys... Anyways.. I will drop it now. But I will end it by saying that it is censorship. Bioware you really need to figure out how to filter out all the crap and start listening to the more important underlying issues which frustrate the community in general leading to cry babies and people who come whine on the forums. I am not one of them. I just am here today due to what I read on the developer tracker. If you call that a troll then you have some serious issues.
  6. It is a policy that says we don't care about the customer. But you are correct. It is their policy that Bioware does not care. I mean who am I fooling maybe only myself. Bioware is a business. They need to make money. I get that. But customer intamacy is important and if the game is to survive customer retention should be important to them. The process of customer intamacy helps accomplish this. This policy is an obstacle to customer intimacy.
  7. This is hilarious. I figure from other posts this is just some fan boy. Then I wonder if it is some sort of paid intern. But here is the funniest part. This person only has one friend (click on their icon) and it is the person who he is defending. Come on Bioware. Are you using other accounts now to back up what you are posting? Or are you asking your friends to back you up. Click on the guys name... you will get a good chuckle. Its not like this is myspace where Bioware staff are automatically added to your friends.
  8. I mean come on. You honestly believe that paying 60 bucks (or more for other editions) is not enough to be able to post on the forums. I mean I know they are within their legal rights but still. I am talking about the process of customer intimacy here more than anything else.
  9. An example of Bioware's censorship. This is a deliberate attempt by Bioware to quiet the people who are so unsatisfied with their game that they cancel their subscription. I might be one of those people in the not so distant future if certain issues are not resolved. Why could people post on the forums before the game were released openly without purchasing the game. Suddenly the community is censored. In other words Bioware doesn't want to listen to your opinion unless you pay them their monthly fee. Should not the simple purchase of the game be enough to post on the forums? We purchased the product but Bioware will not allow us to participate in the forums unless with pay them a monthly fee. I never thought I would see captialism used to censor the customer, but Bioware is on the frontier of censorship it seems. Why not. We all know that everything is working as intended anyways!!! Anyways good job censoring people Bioware. I am ashamed that I once respected the founders of Bioware. Obviously their success has made them lose touch with reality or stop caring about their product. Bioware should be ashamed of censoring people who purchased their game on the forums. That is the most pathetic thing I have ever seen an MMO do and I go back to the beginning. I can't believe Bioware is going to censor their players who purchased the game by allowing read only access for non-subscribing members. Shame shame Bioware. I have the right to post this since I pay. Sadly enough before the game came out ANYONE could post. Now you can only post if you pay us our monthly fee even though you bought the game. Good job listening to your customers Bioware.
  10. Actually what is even funnier is I was told to check the forums daily to look for updates on when these servers may be compatible transfers. Lol. Wow. Directed by customer service to check something daily which may or may never update to what I want. Thanks Bioware for having such communicational efficiency with your customer base. We sure to appreciate it. /signed the entire Bioware customer base except for about 150 fan boys who are interns you hired to write the supporting views on your stances... that is my only guess at this point!
  11. So when can I combine my legacy. I played on a dead server. I WAS FORCED DUE TO POPULATION ISSUES TO MAKE A NEW CHARACTER ON A NEW SERVER. The legacy penalizes me a "founder" for playing on the server that Bioware choose for my guild. The server died and I had multiple level 50s on it. Rather than sit on a dead server waiting for in some cases hours for a warzone I felt it safe to make a new character on a new server. After all Bioware would be providing free transfers and with the emphasis on the legacy system I am sure I will be able to combine them. The bioware team even expresses that if multiple legacys the higher legacy will be the one used. So I used this information from Bioware to justify creating a new character on a new server so I wouldn't have to cancel my subscription. LET ME MERGE MY *INSERT BAD WORDS HERE* LEGACY'S. How dare you publish this article to rub it in my face. I am so angry at Bioware. I have been holding on barely for 4 MONTHS. Do you want my monthly subscription or not? If you do you better fix this f'ing problem. Here is the best part. I open a ticket and explain all this. I get a response back saying to give me the name of the character and what server he is on.. and what server to transfer him to. I got so excited that Bioware for once was going to listen to their customers and FIX the GOD DAMNED PROBLEM. This is coming from a customer who has been VERY PATIENT. I am tired of patience. I need action on this item IMMEDIATELY. Anyways. I digress. So I give this information to Bioware... I am so excited.. I wait a day. I get a response saying sorry this character is not eligible for transfer to this server. Please check such and such a post to see when this server list is updated. Thanks but fork you Bioware. Why would you excite me like that just to say fork you to me. I don't deserve it as a customer who has been here since pre-release. Resolve this issue for your customer. Show your customers that you are listening and you intend to make their game experience enjoyable. I will sum up everything in one word = Ilum
  12. Character Transfers from East Coast to West Coast please. I joined a east coast server when 12 of my friends started the game. Most of them are on the east coast. Of them I am the ONLY ONE who still plays. I want to change to a west coast server to be able to have better server response. Maybe they will be back with 1.3 but I doubt it. They are all waiting for guild wars 2 now =( Which means now I am on an east coast server with no friends and raid times that don't suit my schedule.
  13. Hopefully there will be a way to merge my characters to the same server at some point due to legacy. I was frustrated with my server population and made a new character under the assumption that with the character transfers I would be able to merge my legacys. I was forced to do this by Bioware due to population issues on my main server effecting my gaming experience. The first step is a positive one at least my previous main characters are on a server with a healthy population now. The bummer is I have my other characters now without the legacy benefits of my main account. I would have never made them on another server if my server didn't have a low population. This will need to be addressed as well. I know I am not alone in this.
  14. Hopefully someone from Bioware reads my comment below: I have played since pre-release and Bioware selected our guilds Server. All of my original 8 friends who played this game have left. It was pretty decent server up until 1.2 which helped kill off my server. I tried to hang in on the server and play one of my alts and finally got bored due to excessively long warzone queues. I was forced to switch servers. The only server with any population worthy at the time was Fatman. I made a character there and I will be level 50 soon. It really angered me that the big push of the legacy system was a feature that I can not benefit from. I have my new legacy on the server with the same legacy name but I am missing out on all of the time from my original server. Hopefully at a bare minimum a LEGACY TRANSFER will be ok to my server of choice which is now Fatman. I am ok with my other characters on another server (although it does aggravate me... I like having them on the same server)... I want my legacy though. If I am cheated out of being able to transfer to my new server then at some point I will likely move on from swtor. I have been patient as Bioware has asked. I have kept my subscription even though as a customer I am not satisfied with the product. I see the potential and leave my subscription in place so that the company has revenue money to continue to develop the game. As you continue to improve the legacy system it will frustrate me tremendously that I will not benefit from it with my new main character on the Fatman Server.
  15. Someone posted my favorite video of the year to youtube. It sums up my feelings on 1.2 and pvp perfectly.
  16. I think the reason why Bioware is not merging the servers is due to arrogance and overconfidence and denial. I realize it might be a technical challenge as well but the server populations are negatively impacting the game. Many options are available to improve this. This issue needs to be addressed immediately. I refuse to sit at the imperial fleet staring blankly at a screen trying to enter a warzone. I don't have open world pvp.. I have nothing. Now I just get to sit and wait and stare at my screen hoping a warzone pops with a well balanced match, which almost never happens. Please do something before its too late.
  17. I just watched the video again. I am so happy someone made that video. It sums up the communitys thoughts perfectly. I made a marauder too.. lol
  18. OMG. That is the best video i have seen in a long long time. Well done. I laughed so hard and it was perfect. Bioware is in denial.
  19. It is simple the worst warzone matching system I have ever encountered. To make matters worse with the smaller population sizes on servers, I am finding that I keep playing on the same team agains lots of the same people when i finally do get in a warzone. Last night I had about 3 people who were in every warzone I was in for the entire night. I generally would be on there team as all the pugs get put together since the two groups of 4 fit so nicely together.
  20. I haven't cancelled yet. The only thing that I am happy about anymore is the fact that I have plenty of time to do other things now, that I don't feel compelled to play this game. Usually a good MMO can capitavate my interest for at least a year. I guess SWTOR did for about 4 months.. so not terribly bad. Overall for being completely out of touch with their community I would give them a grade of a D+ I believe with the right leadership they could make the necessary adjustments to get to the A range, but I think that the development team thinks they know what we want and stopped listening a long time ago. I also think they need to put a bigger push on their staff to spend more time playing their game (in their own time).
  21. Signed and dated for today. I agree with your post. Don't worry. Everything is working as intended. Move along.
  22. Good job Bioware. You guys make an excellent product with very few bugs. Ohh wait. I forgot. Everything is bugged.
  23. This going to sound harsh, but if I was upper management at Bioware then people would start being written up and given deadlines to fix game breaking issues. I wish I could say that the development team was too busy playing their game instead of working on it. It is obvious to me that they do not play their own game. I believe that all of the development team should spend at least 20 hours a week (ON THEIR OWN TIME) playing their game. This should be considered homework and would help with their decisions. Do any of you play your own game?
  24. /sign I have played on a PvP server from the pre-release. I don't miss the server queues, waiting an hour to play the game. But I have to confess it was better when the population was healthy. On my server it is taking on average 8 minutes to queue up per warzone. Some nights even longer waiting times. The other terrible part is I keep queuing up with the same people on my team and playing the same teams. It really sucks bad when you are getting on the losing team spot over and over again. Somehow with a bunch of the same people the next warzone, fighting the people who just kicked your ***. Some nights I manage to be on the winning side over and over. The same thing occurs when this happens, I am queued with a lot of the same people. The servers need to be merged to have heavy populations on them again. Bioware's pride may be hurt by having to do this now, but it will improve the health of the game for the people who are still playing. I agree with everything the original poster stated. Ilum was a joke at release but at least there was some open world pvp there. As pathetic of a pvp attempt as it was, it sure beats our current options of warzone only. Why even have a distinction between the PvP servers and PvE servers if there really isn't much difference. Is it just to say that you have a PvP server. I was extremely excited to hear that Bioware was making this game. Bioware has made amazing games and I have enjoyed EVERY SINGLE ONE. When I first played SWTOR I was amazed at the level of detail and the amount of RPG elements that were incorporated into the MMO. With so little end game content I believe that Bioware made a HUGE MISTAKE by making leveling to level 50 so easy. Out of my 8 friends who started this game with me 4 of them have 3 or more level 50s. I have 2 level 50s and I barely even played my alt. Ohh and that reminds me. Thank you Bioware for penalizing me and changing the PvP gear system. I finally got a full battlemaster set at realm rank 65. It took me a lot of hard work (with bugged warzones not counting for wins, etc.). On top of that I saw a battlemaster token about every 12 bags (1/4 chance my ...). Even my friends with multiple 50s had the same drop issues. It was not "working as intended" despite your claims. So I finally got my Merc to 50 after 1.2. I buy the blue gear and on the first night I have 4 battlemaster pieces. The very next day I get my battlemaster weapon. I barely am Champion and in a week or 2 tops I can have full battlemaster with this guy, with the new system. Thank you for rewarding my grind to get BM gear and make it easy mode hoping to attract new subscribers. Maybe that is Bioware's plan in this. To lose all the people who pre-ordered there game and make the game even easier for new potential subscriptions. Who knows, maybe if they add an expansion Bioware will be able to attract some of the original player population back, but it is evident to me that their focus is on NEW SUBSCRIBERS and not their EXISTING COMMUNITY. My extreme disgust in some of the implementation decisions for SWTOR has lead to me not purchasing my first Bioware game ever (Mass Effect 3). I loved the series and refuse to play another Bioware game after my extreme disappointment with SWTOR. I hope this is viewed as constructive criticism because I am a huge star wars fan. I used to be a huge Bioware fan even telling the story of the founders to many people that I met because I found their story to be so amazing. What an amazing job Bioware has done with all of its game up until SWTOR. This game brought me out of MMO retirement. When I heard years ago that Bioware would be doing Star Wars I knew the game would be amazing. In fairness I think the potential is there, but the creative directors of the project have lost touch with their community. I know this for a fact because virtually EVERYONE I have talked to, who has played from the release of the game, has either quit already or is playing very little. Out of my 8 buddies who joined the game (all of them HUGE star wars fans), only 3 of us login on a weekly basis. When we do login we usually play for a little while, get bored and go watch TV or play another game. This is not a good sign for such a young MMO. Now you may read this and yell cry more. The truth of the matter is I have been an online gamer since 1988. I played online games on GEnie (Orb Wars, Stellar Empire, etc). I played early internet games like xtrek/netrek and subspace. I played many MUDs (Multi User Dungeons for those of you who don't know) , including Genocide (an awesome PvP only MUD), and Sojourn/Toril Mud (A forgotten realms based MUD that the founder of Verant based Everquest off of). In fact I was in his guild way back when and when he said he was going to make a "graphical mud" we didn't believe he could. Several years later Everquest was released (I played that including the PvP servers). I played many of the MMO's that have been released after Everquest. I have over a 70k gamerscore with xbox games. I played video games from the original Atari. I have always been an addict and if there is one thing I can say I am an expert on, I can admit with shame that I am an expert at playing and enjoying video games. This game has so much potential with the right creative direction and focus. Like I mentioned above, Bioware spent so much time and money on the story and the low level content that they should have made it much harder to level. I barely experienced some of the planets from 35-50 because I leveled so fast. The sad thing is I didn't even want to level that fast. I personally enjoyed the cutscenes and the RPG elements were developed beautifully. As much as it would have infuriated many people I believe that the core story cutscenes should not have been skippable. Another thing that could have freed up a lot of money for more end game content would have been excess voice overs for all of the sub-quests. My hat is off to Bioware for attempting such an immersive RPG experience but they forgot about the fact that in an MMO people are competing to be the first to 50, or the first to kill a boss, etc. The natural human nature when people are competing to level the fast is to skip the cutscenes where so much time and effort and money was invested to improve the RPG experience. Bioware forgot about everything regarding the MMO development. I could go on to criticize the engine and it's incapability to handle large scale PvP. But I see so much potential if the existing engine was tweaked to make PvP more compelling and fun for smaller scale PvP. Another element that really needs to be balanced is more utility for all classes lacking utility for warzones like huttball, etc. At least put in a team deathmatch for the strict dps classes to enjoy who don't have utility. This is a huge issue which makes some great classes not fun to play in the current warzone scenario. It weakens the game because the other classes are fun to play, they just have no place in the current warzone format if they are strictly dps. Ilum could have been great but once again Bioware forgot the MMO component. How about rare bosses there? How about mobs with nice loot. How about harvesting nodes for the crafters. Ohhh wait I forgot crafting has no purpose. Another huge Bioware mistake to make crafting completely useless. Ok.. so now people can make orange items with augments... great... but they will make so many orange crap they can't sell or do anything with that will just eat up the resources and not even make it worth the effort. Kudos on an excellent crafting system. That brings up the server economy in general, What a joke. At least in the early days the green items and blue items were kinda sort of worth something. Good luck selling anything on the broker. I mean if everything is nodrop and you have to get it yourself (Columni, Rakata, PvP gear etc.) What good is any other gear in the game? It is useless. Everyone wheres the same brainless clown suit. Why shouldn't every piece of gear be viable and have more variation in stats and selection and looks.... I honestly could go on and on. Bioware really needs to address these issues and kick some internal butt. This game has SO much potential. It frustrates me to see everything botched so badly. I really hope they fix the game. I want to stay but I am being forced away. I have no desire to play Mass Effect 3 now either, even though I was a huge fan of the series. This MMO has made me lose faith in Bioware (or EA who I lost faith in many moons ago).
