  1. I only learned about the removal of BM gear within a few days of the patch, as I don't play on the PTS and therefore do not worry about its goings on. However I am not whining or complaining, as IDGAF. But I can see how someone might be aggravated about wasting that time to collect it. Perhaps they were busy playing the game instead of reading patch notes for a test server they don't play on. =P
  2. I played on day one and beta and the lag was there then too. They won't be fixing it any time soon, so if you can't deal with it, then you should find a new game.
  3. So what I gather from this is that I should roll a marauder and spec smash. Got it.
  4. I'm a subscriber so it is much easier for me to out level a planet, but I usually do every mission on every planet. But when doing this, I don't usually need the gear, as I usually have oranges for myself and companions and a cybertech to keep them geared. But I will collect the commendations as I go, to buy mods, enhancements or whatever for alts. Plus, doing these planets allows me to collect materials for crafting, as well. But, you don't have to do them. If you are over-leveled for a planet, then you can skip the bs missions and just do the essentials if you like. Can also fill in gaps with Pvping or space missions.
  5. I would say it is mostly because the Repubic storylines are as dull as hell. If I were a new payer, I would want to be on the cool, interesting, murder-filled side.
  6. It would likely be quicker for you to earn the tokens again and buy the proper item, than to wait for CS to get around to fixing it for you. Hell, it'd be quicker to re-roll, rank up, and then get the tokens again.
  7. The problem with this argument, and this is only in MY opinion, so I am not stating fact or speaking for the consensus; But WOW is like 8 years old. And started with a much lower budget. This game had a 500million dollar budget, supposedly. So, where did all that cash go? Was it just all for the voice acting? Because that seems like a waste. Eventually, most people just end up 'spacebarring' through conversations, because they don't need to listen to a person talk for five minutes, just to go kill 10 pirates or whatever. It's 2012, not 2004. There is no real reason for some of the features that have made their way into other mainstream MMO's to not be present here. This is supposed to be the end-all, be-all of MMO's and it more often than not, feels like a single player rpg, with an oft times annoying chat box. But, in all honesty, it doesn't matter. EA and BW have already made their money. They need 500k subs in order for this to be profitable and worth developing for in the future, and I'm sure they will get that with the fan-boys, at the very least. It's not a bad game, and it does have a lot of potential to be awesome. But there are more glaring issues at hand other than 'No Housing' or 'OMG I can't move my space ship around'. Things like optimization of their horrid engine, or fixing broken quests that prevent a player from enjoying the story they spent millions of dollars to produce.
  8. Story is important to me. I know it is not going to be important to everyone, though. I am a casual MMO player. I never got into WoW, as it was just like most other MMO's out there. A grind fest. But with TOR, even though the grind is still there, it is well-hidden within the folds of the story and that makes it easier to swallow, for me at least. I know I am just going here and 'Killing X' of these, or 'Collecting Y' of those, it doesn't matter. Because the storyis enthralling enough to make me want to see more of it. But I know that won't last forever, as there is only a small percentage of individualized story. But I will probably be enjoying it.
  9. I support this. I have three characters now, mostly low level and all of them fairly caster-oriented. And while no one in a group or flashpoint has mentioned it, I feel horrid when my heals lag and just plain don't work how they should. This is an issue that will make or break the game, in the long run. In the short run, it is completely ignorable by the average player, who is still enjoying the new stories and whatnot. But you won't keep many competetive players around with this, especially with the lack of general end-game content.
  10. Part of the 300mil they spent on this game likely went to the critics. I can judge a game better by the user reviews, than I can the review from some corporate shill.
  11. And I have to say, I agree with what most of the negative reviewers have to say. I played the beta, and I will play the final product for a while. But honestly, I can see this game failing after a couple of years. That is my personal opinion, anyway.
