  1. Patch is fine. Stop crying, and no, I didn't read your post because you need to learn about the Enter Key.

WZ is alright, haven't done the PvE content but watched Deagen streaming it and it is actually hard. UI Customization is fantastic. If your class got hit with the nerf-stick, adapt. They took away my AoE Tankability on my Jugg (cooldown on AoE threat can no longer be lowered from 45 seconds to 30, smash damage lowered etc.) but I'm adapting to playing without it.

    TL;DR:

Learn to adapt and stop crying. If you're really so angry at BioWare then leave without trying to get attention on the forums

No it's not fine, it sucks. The OP is exactly right. They're taking customization out of the game, both in your skill tree and gear. All the MODs are tied to expertise now so if you want a Crit/Surg Spec your just out of luck.

  2. This is strange.

By the way I see people complain both in-game and in the forums, I have presumed that majority of the players here are seasoned gamers that have a solid notion of balances and are adaptive to changes brought along by experiences from other games (MMO or whatnot).

But seeing stupid nerfing whines like this, makes me think the opposite.

See now I consider this strange. All around me I hear healers in all classes complaining that they can no longer heal hard modes, they can't handle burst damage due to the nerf. The DPS Sage is also bunk due to the change in Presence of Mind. I ask you this, how the hell do you think this is balance? Were Sages so OP they couldn't die in PvP? I personally died all the time and feel my Focus Guardian was a lot more powerful. The DPS Hybrid Sage was an ok AOE damage dealer that was simply fun to play but were better served to spec as healers. Now nether option is fun to play and we call it a needed "balance" change. I don't, I call it a mahor nerf that has enraged healers on all servers to the point of quitting.

I offered simple solutions in my original post but I have some more. What would happen if Bioware released this patch without the Nerfs? Hmmmm, lemme think on it a second. Peeps would have been excited and happy because no one thought healers were that OP except in PvP where it was hard to find someone playing a healer anyway. So now, nerf them and see how many healers you have in PvP... The logic astounds me. I'm not sure any of you play in WZ's but I do. If you are DPS melee you have but seconds to live before you get stunned by a Sorc and burst to the floor by Marauders and Operatives. The healer is not going to save you and to nerf their timer is just silly and ignorant all at the same time.

  3. Testing patches only validates bugs. You can get entirely caught up in testing but I find that it ruins the game for me. I rage way to easily and the Devs would simply boot me.

I have calmed down a bit as the 10% Force Sweep nerf to my Guardian did not diminish him as much as first thought. My Sage, however, is totally bunked. I've respec'd twice and if I cannot find a way to fix him it may be closet time for DPS Sages. I don't play a healer on Hero Engine games as the timer mechanic drives me nuts but I am hearing alot of angst from the guildies.

I would say the biggest complaint I have and my guildies seem to have is the Expertise GAP diminishing the custom build scenarios. Once you get to BM that's pretty much it. Just pile on the Expertise because without it your going to suck. It makes for a "one size fits all" kiddy game where thought is taken out of the equation.

I do like the new War Zone. It rocks in every way.

I stopped doing Hard Mode flashpoints and Raids some time ago due to rage timers so cannot offer an opinion there but I heard a guildie claim it was broken. Another aspect of Hero Engine games I find totally assinine. Boss beatdowns aren't my idea of questing, Ilike the unpredictable nature of PvP.

  4. Are you serious? I'm just...what.

    A) Bubble will last 2-3k. That's less than a single good hit from many classes, two at best for weaker skills. It's barely worth the cast time mid-fight. 'Godly bubble' indeed, if Gods are made of melted butter.

    B) How is having light armour instead of medium armour an advantage? Oh that's right, it isn't.

    C) Aoe knock back... so we can knock them back and they can leap right back to us with a stun and huge damage. Yeah... I see how that totally equals out.

For what it's worth, you're right that it's 'done by design'. It's quite obvious at this point that BioWare wants a few specific classes to annihilate everything in the game. I mean the fact that Marauders are actually being buffed in 1.2... honestly, not sure I'm even going to bother re-subbing for 1.2 at this point.

Dude your the only one talking sense and I agree 100%. Likely because we both play Sages. I get owned by mauraders and Operitives who are spec'd right.

  5. Dear Bioware,

I would like to share my first impressions with you from patch 1.2. I did not play the public test server so I am completely fresh with my perspective.

First thing I noticed was that my skill points had to be re-spent. I instantly became nervous as this was a sign that something had changed in my build. To my great dismay I found the Telekinetic Wave no longer works with Presence of Mind. This was devestating. After quitting 2 WZ's in disgust I moved on to my lowbie. I found that the lowbie PvP gear prices had gone up about 40%. This angered me further so I went back to my sage to spend my 1000 WZ and 1000 Merc tokens I had saved. After purchasing 1 BM chest piece I noticed that all the MOD's have expertise tied to them and NONE of the gear had Surge. I am now incensed with rage at this point because I know that I will not be able to MOD my gear the way I choose to without negatively impacting the "Expertise". Expertise is quickly becomming a necessary evil that despise with a passion.

Bioware I so looked forward to this update but now I realize it is simply a huge NERF.

I presume your goal with this patch was to garner increased interest in the game so why am I feeling nothing but rage... When you "balance" the game, you should bring weaker classes up, not stronger classes down. You should never change prices, just incorperate better gear into the economy at higher prices thereby easing changes into the economy without creating all the dissension. You should NEVER release a patch if promised content is not going to be in said patch.

Please learn from this mistake as you will pay for it. A taum taum and 30 free days is not going to get me over the NERFS. I HATE NERFS!!!!

  6. I'm going afk in protest. Whats the point? Your down 3-0 in Hutball, you have your 4 medals and your in a team of low level teens . Your done, finished, no hope, the other team is going to run around with the ball to mock you, yes I go afk and get a drink or use it as a bio break because there is absolutely NO incentive to continue play at that point.
  7. Now you cannot drop, so what happens is everyone just afk's and says the hell with it. The point is the match should not begin until the Que is full and everyone is in the match, period.
  8. Explain to me why a PvP match starts with 4 or 5 players? Just dropped a voidstar 5 Republic vs. 8 Imps. We spent the whole match in the penalty box because once they wiped the floor with us we couldn't get out quick enough before they already had the next door capped? What's the dam point of continuing and you wonder why people drop Que?
  9. This is my last post. The more I think about it, the more it eats at me. I simply can't support Bioware, no matter how good the game is, if they going to continue to put this gay relationship, agenda stuff in their games. It turned my stomach in DAII and now they are infecting Star Wars with the stuff. You younger generation types who think this stuff is ok, it's not. I'm just like everyone else, I just want to play the game but I can't do that now. "I" am offended but that only seems to matter if your a perv.

    Account canceled!

    Turn the lights off please...

  10. Bioware, I've always had a love hate relationship with you since the advent of Neverwinter and that continues to this day. I'm going to list the positives and negatives of this game as I see them. I am a MMO veteran of many years and feel I need to say my part and was actively a part of the Beta testing process.

    Positives

Story - You nailed this one as I knew you would. This game revolutionized MMO's in this respect and will likely not be matched any time soon.

Launch - Probably one of the smoothest launches in MMO history but... (see negatives)

Comunity - The guild inception phase was awesome but... (see negatives)

Lag - Lag has been managed better than most MMO's. In fact I have experienced very minimal lag even though I have heard the complaints of others, my machine handles everything very well. I beleive their issues lie with certain hardware and driver conflicts particular to their machine.

Crafting - I love the crafting mechanic in this game. Utilizing the companions for gathering was a stroke of genious.

Depth - Very good up to 50. The leveling process was very good, a bit linear but still enjoyable beyond any other experience I have had in other MMO's.

PvP - I have never liked PvP until this game. I have probably done more PvP in this game than any other I have ever played. That being said see negatives.

    Negatives

Crafting - While I love the mechanics of crafting it's broken in that you don't need a crafter to get blues, all the blues are available through planetary commendation vendors? I was really remiss when I found that my skills were simply not needed in game... This was very dissapointing. Venders should have never been able to sell anything beyond greens period! The crafting economy is ruined by this aspect of the game. Crafting purples isn't a viable option because you simply out level the crit rate. Crafting is a futile venture as it is now.

Depth - While there is plenty of launch options even at 50, it's very inconvenient to find a group. This is something that the masses of Beta testers complained about but was not taken seriously in developement. Although most of us did not group as we couldn't get to end game content. It has been my guild experience that leveling was fairly easy and then hard mode flashpoints are insanely difficult without a properly geared group. THe only way to get the gear is to gring the same couple quests repeatedly as a PvE'r.

Community - The guild pages were deleted at launch. Why? Also every dissenting opinion on the issue of gay relationships in game is being deleted. If homosexuals have a right to complain then so do normal people. I find it offensive that persversion is going to be installed in this game but my thoughts on the subject are being silenced? I find this disturbing and it will impact my decision to renew my membership. In fact this may be my last post.

PvP - While not exaclty balanced I was having fun until the nerfs began. The most complained about classes were the stunlocking scoundrels and operatives along with Sorc hybrids. The scoundrels were nerfed to the floor as their key damage dealing spells are not permitted in PvP and shoot first took a 20% damage hit along with a 50% reduction in duration but operatives still retain a distinct advantage in that they don't have to be stealthed or behind someone to use their abilities. Sorcs remain UNTOUCHED while their counterpart Sages lack the same abilities. The imbanace now HEAVILY favors the Empire making PvPers apathetic.

I really want to like this game Bioware but your pushing me out. My guildies are feeling the same way. Maybee we're just playing to much and impatient but for me the alternate lifestyle agenda is just too much. I will likely leave on that alone.

  11. Dude no vague responses needed, your list proves our point.

NO OTHER CLASS OUT THERE has all those abilities.

A sorc can DPS, Range, Shield, and CC as well as a Sentinel, Scoundrel, and Vanguard combined. How can 1 class beat three?

Bioware has created a monster because if they nerf it, the majority of the players will rage quit. All the vain, imature younglings will rage quit... I beleive a better way to deal with it would be to bring other classes up to be on par.

    Hey just a thought!

  12. the average dps reduction isn't going to be much more than 1%, but it will take away the very top end burst spurts.

    Mountain from a molehill much?

You've lost your mind. Surge is everything to Scoundrels and Gunslingers and keep in mind, we've already lost "20%"!!! The 1% you are talking about, and I can only assume that's an accurate number, is from a calculation based over time of sustained damage like in a boss beatdown. Scoundrels and Gunslinger BURST because if they don't kill their target in PvP they are dead once exposed. So by "removing" the burst you are removing them from effective gameplay, they can simply run interference and heckle the wounded.

A scoundrels primary role in PvP is to take out the healers. Healers shield up and heal themselves faster than you can damage them. If we loose our Crits you can beat on one all day to no avail. It's pretty much like that now without adrenals.

  13. Surge nerf is a nerf to pretty much EVERYONE. Therefore, everyone benefits.

    Nay.

Tanks don't use Surge, Healers and Force users can stack Power to be effective. I'm more familiar with republic but the classes most effected are the Surge DPS classes. Scoundrels and Gunsligers will be crippled, Sentinels will also take a hit, Shadows to a lesser degree but they tend to go the Kinetic Tank route. The Show DPS line is nice and can be used but it means you will be a bit squishy and an easy target for multiple deaths.

I just recently made 50 with my Scoundrel and it is like starting over but I can say this, my toon is not OP. I have two pieces of purple PvP gear and all I can do is run interference and pick on the wounded. If these adjustments are made my character will be shelved and I'll likely take a break from the game. No other classes currently hold much interest for me.

THE ONLY adjustment I can see that is needed is a minor tweak to Sorc's range in PvP.

  14. What will be the end result. All DPS classes will be weaker, Tanks will be nigh untouchable and Sorc's remain stalwart because they use a OP DoT, long ranged lightning that slows that can be boosted by Power and Force power. So one of the main complaints in PvP is again left alone and scoundrels and Ops are again going to brought further down.

Scoundrels and Ops lost 20% off the top to their main 2 abilities, their special abilities (cheap shot and head shot) aren't available in PvP and now surge is going to be nerfed to the floor. So other than knocking someone down for 1.5 sec's and then kicking them in the groin for another lock of 2 sec's we have nothing. Flash grenades are all but worthless in the lvl 50 PvP as it works less than 50% of the time. I will have to boost all they way up just to do anything other than tickle them.

I've played a Trooper and a Consular and grew bored very quickly. The Smuggler classes are for me but I don't know if I canstay interested in this game if you keep trashing my characters with endless nerfs whil Sorc's stay unchanged.

  15. Signed

But I would also make note that a spec'd healer being shielded by another is nigh impossible to kill since the nerf to operatives and scoundrels.

I want to know why the sorc's were not nerfed at the same time? You put two or three of them together and they cannot be stopped. I say the ONLY way to fix it is to nerf the distance or the DoT damage. Once they lock you in it's over as you CANNOT close the distance and even if you do your then stunned and finished off without even scratching them. Operatives and Scoundrels could do the same with stealth but now were only a nuisance.

  16. Hello,

this is my second day trying to complete the daily warzone quest (3 wins in warzones). After playing warzones over 8 hours I have 2 wins. This has happened before and it will certainly happen in the future.

Please introduce a system that will allow the completition of dailies even by losing warzones. Something like, get 30 points to finish dsily - you'll get 10 points for win, 3 for losing.

My guildies are not level 50 yet, nobody on server wants to team up (I asked in general) and we are fighting against very skilled opponenents in premades. Don't get me wrong, they are not cheating, our side is simply unable to win, I just want a mechanics that will allow me to complete my dailiy, well, within a day.. (Up to 4 hours of daily gameplay would be lovely)

I am fully Champion geared, win most 1v1 fight (except being executed by Agents of course), I pass the Ball in Hutball, fight at gun batteries, watch doors in Voidstar and generally do what I should in warzones.

And of course this change will help Imperials later on - when my guildies hit 50 and we start rolling to warzones. :p

It all depends on the group your in. If you run with skilled folks who work together and help gear each other out a win is not that hard to come by. If you pug, avoid guilds, level without reguard for gear, you're going to get your but handed to ya just about every match.

  17. Signed

I don't have a problem with good gear but the whole expertise stat thing is just a pain and really not necessary. You grind all this crap, grind out purples through crafting, spend hours doing dailies etc. all to have it worth nothing at end game trumped by the expertise stat. I agree with the op, expertise should be removed.

  18. Another troll thread.

Sorcerors are not imbalanced, if you can't kill one, stop PvPing as you can never be successful at it regardless.

I have killed many. but "ONLY" on my gunslinger who can pop in and damage at range with some quick bursting and adrenaled damage behind my dampners. All other classes can't get close enough to a skilled sorc group as their abilities are just to strong at long ranges. And keep in mind that they DO run in groups. Your almost never facing one. I beleive the range is defnately the answer without damaging the ability too much. Cut the range.

  19. Give all melee classes dps similar to force lighting

Give all jedi the ability to capture force lighting into lightsaber stopping 100% damage.

I agree with these two BUT...

    1) You don't really have to change all the other classes or even nerf the ability, just shorten the range. An ability that strong should have a shorter range. That way you won't have 5 sorcs standing at range with two healers supporting them with heals and shields even further out. If you bring them in closer it will definately make things interesting.

    2) I like the light saber mitigating damage and should definately be an ability, even a passive ability of Jedi tanks. May even make the Jedi a viable class again.

    3) "TURN ON" Scoundrel abilities. Cheap Shot and Head Shot currently don't work as designed or are turned off in PvP and they also share the same timer. So basically your support class has no way of getting the sorcs off of anyone. They run up, do a little CCC and then die horribly because they cannot DPS a fly. All the Ops' abilities seem to work fine and they are often working in tandem with a Sorc.

  20. Dude it's all very true but in each case I have experienced it's been them teamed with another operative or sorcerer who also DoT's or stuns them.

Here is the problem I see.

    1) Sorc's need a major nerf of a DoT lightning spell that slows and has a moderately long range. Once they" instantaneously" cast this spell it not only DoT's and slows the target but it also marks the target with this huge lightning storm for other team matess to finish off. I was watching one player tick this on me for 400-800 points of damage per tick while and operative kept me stunned and face rolled me. Abo****ely nothing I could do if I couldn't get off a flash grenade to get away. The republic shadows and sages have their force throw which is supposed to mirror the lightning but sorry it simply doesn't.

    2) The republic's operative would be the scoundrel and his abilities are not working, ie. cheap shot and head shot. When your dissabled, stunned or otherwise incapacitated the scoumdrel should have these abilities available but they are currently broken or disabled for PvP. They often don't work in PvE either so I would say they are broken.

In conclusion the Empire has a HUGE advantage over the Republic because we simply don't have the offensive abilities to retaliate in kind.
