  1. I tried out Ranked PvP for the first time this week and I realized that I'm really not that good. Within the first hour people had been whispering me and telling me not to queue and throwing matches by leaving if I was there. I'm not blaming anyone, I just want to get better. I realize that during fights I panic a lot and don't know what to do. I've done many normals and felt that I was fine but the moment I did ranked everything was different. I'm hoping to get advice about what I can do to improve and I have a lot of questions. 1. What dps spec is recommended the most/ what is the talent build? 2. What secondary stats should I be prioritizing? 3. What targets should I be focusing on? 4. When should I pop my defensives? (serious help on this one as I never pop them at the right time) 5. When should I use my CC abilities (stun/flashbang/etc.) and who should I be using them on? 6. What spells should I trinket out of? 7. What should my opener be? (based on answer to first question) 8. What should I do if I'm getting focused? 9. What else should I be doing? Any and all advice is appreciated.
  2. Wanted some opinions on what Race/Class combo gives you that iconic Star Wars feel to it. I have a lot of free time in my life currently and one of my hobbies is writing stories. After viewing all the class story lines I want to create a Fan Fiction, so to speak. The story line will be on the 4 Empire classes (Bounty Hunter, Imperial Agent, Warrior, and Inquisitor). The Class stories will remain intact as much as possible but in between will be moments where the Heroes interact and occasionally involve themselves in each others objectives. This includes events such as how they met, their conflicting/similar views, etc. Here is an example in script form though it's just a rough idea in my head for now: At this point the Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent have already met and they bump into each other as they both travel to fulfill their objectives inside Lord Grathan's Estate on Dromund Kaas. However, it seems like Lord Grathan already has some company... Bounty Hunter: You know, I expected that this Grathan guy's estate would be more... well guarded maybe? There's corpses everywhere! Kaliyo: Aww... What's the matter hotshot? Feeling late to the party? Mako: Ugh, do you smell that? It reeks of burnt flesh. What's going on? [Agent examines some fresh bodies on the ground. It's clear that they're Lord Grathan's personal guards.] Agent: The bodies may be fresh but the injuries from their severed limbs aren't bleeding out. Only weapons with an intense amount of concentrated heat could do this. Mako: Lightsaber wounds. Bounty Hunter: So what are we dealing with here? Grathan's going insane and killing his own men? Agent: It is possible, but highly unlikely. He wouldn't have the motive to do this; Imperial Troopers are still trying to break through the front lines--this would only weaken his position. Mako: Hey, come here! Look at the lightsaber wounds on these men--it's totally different! And it looks like this one over here died from blaster fire. And..... what? No this just doesn't make sense. It's like his.. his lower half has been eaten! Kaliyo: Great, looks like we've got some serious freak show on our hands. Bounty Hunter: So it's a cannibal. Exotic. I'm all excited now actually. Wanna meet this guy--seems interesting. Kaliyo: You're sick, you know that? I like it. Looks like there's more to you than I thought Hunter. Maybe we should... get to know each other better? Bounty Hunter: What did you have in mind? Agent: Enough. We're dealing with a group here. We both have missions to complete and, as much as I hate that I may be jeopardizing the confidentiality of mine, I think it's best if we remain as a group for now. However, once we're inside we split up. Is that clear, Hunter? Bounty Hunter: Yeah, yeah. I wouldn't want to upset you and have myself become a target of your Imperial Intelligence anyways. Let's go, I have a client that's waiting for me back at the city. I hope you liked that example. That is a possible direction I could take with the story but it could change. However, before I create the story I want to flesh out the character backgrounds. I'd like to hear from the community what feels iconic to them. An example of this would be: Jedi Knight Race: Human Advanced Class: Sentinel And anything else you can think of. I'll pick the ones I like the best for the 4 Empire classes.
  3. My binds are: 1 2 3 4 5 Q E R T F C V Then Shift for the next row. Rest are on my mouse. 1 - Rifle shot 2 - Shiv 3 - Backstab 4 - Lacerate 5 - Corrosive Dart Q - Interrupt E - Hidden Strike R - Acid Blade Cant remember the rest on the top of my head but all my abilities are binded. I find this setup to be really comfortable and easy to reach and you don't have to worry if all you have is a standard keyboard.
  4. I decided to create this post to address some issues that felt clearly present in the way Operatives are played. This is not a rant about how Overpowered/Underpowered the class is: it's about the game play of the class itself. Currently, most Operative abilities have animations tied to the Vibroknife. This can get really boring after a while (I have a rifle. Why am I not using it more?) as most of the animations for the strikes are not that much different at all. Additionally, the distinction between Snipers and Operatives is clearly defined so why not seal the deal? Snipers revolve around the cover mechanic and long range damage output while Operatives revolve around stealth and close-range mobility; why not just remove the cover requirements on Operatives? I created "fake" patch notes that list my suggestions for the Concealment tree that would help to distinguish us even further from our counterpart Advanced Class as well as provide a more fun and active rotation and play style. Think about the concepts and not the actual numbers. This is not a buff/nerf post. Operatives The color of your Stealth Generator is based on the color of your equipped color crystal. Lets begin with the Color Crystal suggestion. When you activate stealth your character becomes transparent and you become outlined with a light-blueish layer of lining. With color crystals you could change the color of that to whatever color you like such as Green, Blue, Magenta, Purple, White, Orange, Yellow, etc! This is just a small change that could enhance the customization of YOUR Operative even further and gives you something to show off just like Sith and Jedi with their lightsabers. Adaptive Mastery (Passive): Removes the cover requirement on Snipe and Explosive Probe. This is a small change that wouldn't impact gameplay too immensely. It fits well with the idea of a highly mobile class. Concealment Hidden Strike: Cooldown increased from 7 seconds to 15 seconds. Advanced Cloaking: No longer increases movement speed. Now decreases Cloaking Screen’s healing dealt and received penalty to 50/0% Energy Screen: Replaced with Energy Enhancements. Energy Enhancements: Activating Shield Probe now recovers 1 energy per second for 15 seconds. In addition, activating Evasion increases movement speed by 50% for 3 seconds. Tactical Opportunity and Meticulously Kept Blades have switched places in the skill tree. Meticulously Kept Blades: Now a 2 point talent with the same overall effect. Does not require points in Collateral Strike. Collateral Strike: Chance increased from 25/50% to 50/100%. Tactical Opportunity: Replaced with Coup de Grace. Coup de Grace: Using Laceration on a target at or below 30% health has a 33/66/100% chance to grant Coup de Grace, which removes the stealth requirement on your next Hidden Strike. Concealed Attacks and Flanking have switched places in the skill tree. Flanking: Replaced with Overload Barrage. Overload Barrage: A 2 point talent that causes direct damage attacks have a 12.5/25% chance to grant Overload Barrage, causing your next Overload Shot to deal 30% increased damage, cost no energy, and grant Tactical Advantage. This effect cannot occur more than once every 10 seconds. Concealed Attacks: Now a 1 point talent with the same overall effect. Waylay: Replaced with Quick Scope. Quick Scope: Critical strikes from Backstab and Hidden Strike grant Quick Scope, causing your next Snipe to have no cast time, cost 10 Energy and not respect the Global Cooldown. This effect cannot occur more than once every 12 seconds. Requires a point invested into Concealed Attacks.
  5. Are you serious? Is this the first mmo you've ever played? Ofc you won't be completely immune to all effects that would be retarded. Do you understand how much of an advantage that is in PvE? Bosses are supposed to be able to break your immunities. You think they design flashpoints and operations with the thought in mind "Oh we should give this boss a knockback and not let one class be affected by the bosses ability? Any person who does ops or raids in other mmos understands this concept. The talent is clearly a PvP talent if it wasn't obvious enough. Can't believe a thread like this was made.
  6. Seems simple. 6/10. Darth Malphisai Sinthari
  7. Thats not what I said. I meant character selection btw (sorry) but I fully understand that there would be an fps drop but I'm asking if its normal to drop 80 fps?
  8. I'm wondering if anyone else out there has had an issue like this? I mean its understandable to have some fps drop when going ingame but a loss of 80 fps? is that normal?
  9. Okay so there's nothing wrong with the Republic and honestly I feel like they have more mature and helpful players. Thing is, I really like the multitude of races in the Star Wars universe. I don't like playing the generic Human race though I know a majority of players do. The reason I'm an Imperial is because I can fully play all 4 classes with a different race. My SW is a Pureblood, SI is Zabrak, BH is Rattataki, and IA is Chiss. The diversity is really refreshing and overall makes my playing experience more enjoyable. With that in mind, I'd like to make my Republic classes a multitude of races as well but it just feels so limited. Human, Miraluka, Cyborg, and Zabrak Republic side just look too similar in my opinion and it just isn't my taste. Twileks and Mirialan seem like the only race with some reasonable differences. I just wish the Republic had more diversity. Playing through the story the Cathar have a really big presence and I thought it would be awesome to play as them as they already seem to have so many customizations. Or maybe even Togrunta as well as they have some pretty defining features as well. Theres a multitude of other races that could be considered as well and I think maybe it wasn't such a wise decision to have so many similar races at release.
  10. I'm looking for some people who have made Sith Pureblood Warriors for some inspiration. I've been at the customization for awhile and I just cant seem to find the right fit for me. Im hoping that I'll be able to see some pretty awesome Purebloods from the community and get on my way to making my Sith Juggernaut!
  11. Dang. Then I might just need to get a new computer then. Any idea how much I'll be needing to spend to build a decent one?
  12. Yea it makes perfect sense to think so. But it doesnt. It seriously doesnt and it confuses the hell out of me
  13. I figured out my processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz
