So how and where did you learn all this? Just trial and error? There is nothing in the guide here about what to pick with what. I guess you just have to have a gathering ability and that's that. Just wish it was mentioned somewhere in the game guide or whatever. When I was able to get crew skills- I really had no clue what was the best or if one of them is better for my class. I just picked out ones that sounded cool and went with it. Just wish the guide was better- Trying to figure too much crap out on my own:( Thanks everyone for their input!

Ah ok I see- I have cybertech, diplomacy and treasure hunting. I assume none of those allow me to gather? Do I just go to the crafting vendor and change it out- if so which one do I need. Kinda crazy it's just not a "built in" ability for everyone:confused:

I've searched around a bit and haven't found anyone else having this problem. It may not even be a problem and is something I'm missing- but I can't pick up a thing and my companions can't either. Select the target and Right click for me - ctrl-right click for my companion right? Nothing happens for me. I'm probably just being a noob and overlooking something.

You have until the 22nd (think technically midnight tomorrow night) to input your product code, which is in your game box. After that you are waiting until you get it to play

ah ok- that's still not a bad deal as you can easily repair your gear at any vendor

I haven't noticed it penalizing you in any way as far as stats go. I am curious if anyone knows this definitely, but I think the only penalty is the time you wait to be revived (or travel back to where you were from the med center which takes time as well)

If you go into Key Bindings- Chat category- then look for the 'Open Chat' bind. Mine was set to 'O'- I changed it to ENTER and that fixed it.

That was it!! I went in to that bind and it was set to 'O' for some reason? I changed it to ENTER and voila I can enter text now! Thanks a million Ghostbear! Never would have thought it was that key. Thanks everyone who helped!

I've been at the office all day and was looking forward to getting in a few hours tonite- looks like it aint happening with the maintenance. 7-12 EST? That just sucks. All the other times are the middle of the night (early AM for the EU) - I know launch is tomorrow, but I'm just voicing my disappointment.

Yeah I'm not even sure you have to do that. I actually went on to Drumond Kaas without choosing an AC and then remembered later that I still had to do that and took the shuttle (didn't have my ship yet) back to the fleet station and found the vendor and had no trouble. I think I was lvl 12-13 by that time.

Tough to kill that dude at level 12. I was lvl 14 with Khem Val helping and it still was a battle. Make sure you use that device you were given that disables his cybernetic stuff when fighting him. It makes it much easier. And yeah sounds like you just have to hit up the vendor in the imperial fleet. They will set you up with your advanced class.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I figured it was gone. Oh well....not a huge deal to me as I said I didn't like the color that much anyways. As long as I have all the other cool CE/pre-order stuff (which I do) I'm good! With that said- this got me thinking. I'm level 16 now and have not come across any new crystals. I would love to find a blue one. Anyone know where you get/find new crystals at? I would think I would have came across a new one by now?

Thanks for taking the time to help- I don't think any of these are my issue though. I'm running at hi-res. I'm not having any problems viewing the chat or typing in it. It's just after I type my message- IT WONT ENTER. I have re-sized the chat window- turned it off and on, etc... I always make sure I don't have extra processes running, so I know that's not it. I will give the RUN AS ADMIN a shot as well as Windowed mode. Anything is worth a shot at this point! I will update this thread if any of those work. Thanks again!

So I did something real dumb- I sold my 1st lightsaber to a vendor (I got a better one) and it had my pre-order crystal in it. Now it's gone. Any way to track it down and buy back or get another? No big deal really either way as I wasn't a big fan of the color- just curious?

OK - I have tried re-installing the game with the actual game CDs. I have run a repair on the launcher. I've searched and googled till I'm blue in the face. I've put in tickets and just got a canned response. Bioware please!! This makes this game virtually unplayable! No matter what i do I cannot CHAT!!! On any channel- grouped or ungrouped- anything! This is getting to be ridiculous. If this doesn't get fixed soon I will have no choice but to just stop playing and cancel my subscription (and that is the LAST THING I WANT TO DO!) as this is relegating me to just a single player RPG and that is not what this game is. It's a basic function of the game!! Escalate this issue and let's get this thing fixed- at least a workaround would be nice- ANYTHING!! Please!

I've had this problem from day 1! I cannot chat at all! On any channel. I've made a couple posts and no one seems to know what to do to fix. I sent a ticket in to in game support and they said it was a known issue and would be fixing it in an update patch. They only problem with that is- It's REAL TOUGH to play an MMO with NO CHAT- AT ALL:confused: Please Bioware fix this- This is such a great game and it is really tainted by not having this basic feature working!

I have looked all over- I guess there is no .ini file that can be edited to change the key bind? I think my game is being delivered tomorrow- I'm going to keep looking around in the meantime, but I may just try re-installing with the actual disks and see if that fixes it. Anyone know if there is anything special you have to do to do a complete re-install - other than just uninstall the old client and install the new?
