  1. Guys, I think I'm doing something wrong. Whenever I'm playing on my 50, a Sniper, with 448 Expertise and all PvP gear but the helm, Operatives/Scoundrels don't kill me in that knockdown. I'm obviously doing something wrong if all these full champion gear people are getting killed in that knockdown. Am I just not geared enough to get slaughtered? They only get me down to about 50%, maybe 30% depending on the crits. I just need to get more gear before I can scream OP and get killed in one knockdown...right?
  2. I don't know much about Empire side on my server. I don't know how good I compare to others. It's hard to say if I'm the 'best'. I can tell who is worse, but they're also different styles. I'm a Lethality Sniper. Pure DPS. We've got a Valor 57 (As of Yesterday) Hybrid DPS/Heals Sorc, Thorun. An awesome tank that I like, Aerwyn. Viran'cano, who was a good Marksman Sniper, and swapped to Lethality. As for the enemy side...I only remember one name, but his entire guild is on the good side. Mihos Doppleganger of Night Watch. Commando, using (I'm pretty sure) the Commando version of Pyrotech. I don't know the name of that tree. As it is, I dread seeing him opposing me in the Warzone. It's kind of like Christopher Paolini described in Eldest. Sometimes, there are mages powerful enough to obliterate the enemy army. Unfortunately, the enemy army also has a mage like that, and instead of actually blowing the helpless little soldiers to tiny bits, they spend all their time hunting, evading, and hiding from their counterparts. That's what it feels like to me when I see Mihos. If we stay away from each other, we'll destroy each other's teams. I've nothing but respect for Mihos. If he reads this, Kalaria Stormblessed salutes you, Mihos Doppleganger, and still wishes she never has to fight you again.
  3. My Sniper saved them all. When it came down to it, her mission was to stop Ardun Kothe from using the Shadow Arsenal. Letting the people live didn't interfere with that. Plus, her anger wasn't directed at them. They're just doing as their told; using a tool for maximum purpose. Her anger was mostly at the old Keeper for brainwashing her in the first place. When Ardun Kothe showed up at the end of the story, asking if I would give it to him, I actually did step away from the computer to think about it. He'd shown he was at least honourable. In the end, my Sniper decided to keep it. And her first question when she got back to the Tenebrous was to ask the Minister what he was planning on doing with it. She trusts herself, and only herself, to be able to resist that lure of power and use it to better the universe.
  4. Why is it that everyone assumes Snipers only have one spec; Marksman? I find Sniper PvP fine because I, unlike most of the mindless drones connected to the hivemind, play Lethality, and don't use cover, so those cover bugs don't affect me.
  5. Stun them. No more cover. Laugh as you chop them into tiny, tiny pieces.
  6. Sorry. FemAgent here, and I love Vector. Easily my favorite companion of all the ones I've seen over each class. Especially his semi-monotonous voice; it's kinda hypnotic to me. And his hair is amazing. Besides, can't you romance Doctor Lokin? I mean, he does look like he hangs out in front of a school and asks Younglings to climb into the back of his white speeder, but he's an option too, isn't he? In all honesty, Quinn freaks me out. I'm disappointed that he's the healer; my Marauder will be stuck with him. He's just TOO nice looking. Has to be a serial murderer. Has to be.
  7. Wasn't this how it was described and shown in the Huttball PvP trailer? Not faction vs. faction, but just team vs. team and random draw as to who is on which team? That's what I was looking forward to the most. Especially since Empire is rather sad on my server. It's a lucky draw as to if enough of the good players get on the team to win.
  8. Wait...Snipers are...supposed to use cover? (Lethality Sniper, watching those numbers burn down that HP!) When I played as a Marksman sniper, I'll admit, if you died to me, you either didn't see me, or didn't care. I would be stationary at some place, shooting at you, and if you didn't LoS me, you really weren't paying attention. If anyone got close, I'd cover-pulse and pray I knocked you away somewhere that you couldn't get to me. If you did, I'd have to pop all my CDs and pray. But, all in all, the damage wasn't really that high. Then I swapped to Engineering. A bit mobile. Very nice AoE from the 3 second Frag Grenade, and I could defend a turret in Civil War or a door in Voidstar with Plasma Probe quite easily, but despite that, I wasn't killing all that much. Great team utility, very low personal rampage. And finally, I decided to try Lethality. I have that same utility as Engineering, if a bit more proactive. *Pop a Corrosive Dart on each enemy before you die, and you'll get back there before they can cap.* And, if anything, I feel I do more damage than a Marksman Sniper. Best of all, it's almost all mobile. I barely ever go into cover. A simple rotation, on someone with full Hp (Tanks and Commandos excluded, reason to come,) goes Corrosive Dart, Weakening Blast, Acid Grenade. One or two Rifle Shots, depending on how many DoT crits I get to give me energy, then Cull to finish it off. They're either dead, or in Takedown range and going down to that. Of all those skills, only Cull requires channeling. That said, tanks with the high HP stop me, occasionally. Depending on my crits, a healer Sorc may survive long enough for me to have to finish them off with a few rifle shots or a Series of Shots. Most fights, I'll kill the enemy before I'm down to 50%. The harder the fight, the lower I may get, or the more CDs I'll pop. The only ones I lose in a 1v1 fight to are... Commandos. There are a few really good commandos on my server that I loathe to engage. They've got several pieces of PvP gear, and are heal spec. I have to kill them before they see me, or they'll hold out long enough for someone to show up and kill me. All in all, I guess, I just have to say, Marksman is a bit of a joke to me. LoS then, burn them down like crazy...There are so many ways that they can be countered that it's not even funny. Lethality, though...You can't counter that. And even if you stun me, all those lovely DoTs will still be ticking. You are already dead, you just don't know it yet.
  9. What spec are you, and which companion? I was running a Marksman with Vector and doing fine, then did fine as a Marksman with Temple, and now as an Engineer with Temple. Still doing fine. I don't know what the problem is that you're encountering.
