  1. Its a PvP focused game. Its the game designers primary concern. If its PvP wont be at least marginally better than TOR's they may as well turn from creating games to fishing. The PvP in GW2 WILL be better than SW:ToRs. Its not hard at all. If they achieve further than that, I'll be happy.
  2. Too bad they dont give sub wins/losses by area. Just because most of the WoW growth and playerbase is in Asia. Itd be really fun to see tWoW's numbers in NA, Europe and Australia.
  3. Guard Sentinels/Marauders, watch the healer constantly (along with said Marauder/Sentinel) and watch death follow. That is all. Guard is not initially "meant" for healers, but ofc tactical awareness > all. Adapting wins the game, and the healer cant die So use your brains: initial clash go for DPS, adapt as enemies focus the healer.
  4. Are you serious? REALLY serious? I mean, we get classes that pump out 400k damage while getting 150k healing and 3 different CCs, ranged heavy armor with 2 knockbacks and you noobs pick on a class that with a pocket healer can pump around 250k-350K damage AT MOST in a great day - and thats with some BM gear? Still, you can argue that well, our 300k damage COUNTS. And thats true, there is no "pointless DPS" in the Sentinel/Marauder - unlike most other DPS specs. So people get stomped 1v1 vs Sentinels. You should, thats THE ONLY THING the class really excels at - and we still have a LOT of trouble vs.Guardians/Juggs ; If all my CDs are available, only healers may eventually delay long enough for help to arrive, mainly because we have no decent stun. But thats it. Thats the only area where we eventually have an edge. 1v1s. I honestly can't believe posts like this. Only shows the ignorance and lack of game knowledge of some people. If anything, non-watchman Sentinels need some buffing - specially the Combat tree. I am amazed at this thread. We are designed for single target melee DPS without insane openers like the Scoundrels. But you are right, we do need fixing. As in, buffs to the Combat tree, making talents that dont work to work, and fixing the ability delay completely.
  5. QFT. Dudes like the one you quoted are the reason harsh penalties for leaving should be implemented: they suck, and expect a team to carry them to battlemaster. Good luck on that.
  6. The infamous "Character Responsiveness" last thread had 145,908 views. Lets presume - since it was a really hot topic - that the previous 4 threads had 200,000 views each. Thats almost 1 million page views in one month. I've run a couple of tests, and it appears the views number seems to be unique views. Or at least it doesnt add up in the same session/different browsers. So depending on what is held accountable for the Views number - and it seems that either it does only account unique views or as a really high % of them. That means there was a huge number of people reading that thread. Far more than your 0.5%. Because you see, it doesnt matter who posts what. What REALLY matters to a company is how many people know it/saw it/read it. And in the thread used as an example, I have 0 doubts of the impact is has had on this game, both internally and externally. These 0.5% can have a tremendous impact on any product, much more so in MMOs case.
  7. Lol. The Rodian & drunken Duros scene wins the award though. And the arrow in the knee ofc
  8. This is where I stopped reading. Getting 8-11 medals does not mean AT ALL that any player knows how to PvP. It just means that the player knows the system and goes for the jugular. This "idea" you are trying to pass on is wrong in so many ways - there are, say, specs that cannot get in a ... legitimate - way the 8-11 medals. And by legitimate I mean in a way the the medals actually mean the player is helping/helped your team. Again, this observation is SO wrong in som many ways its not even funny, and just shows that you really know little about the game's PvP. Sorry but its the truth.
  9. Even if GW2 only gets its PvP half-right, it will still be the best PvP on the market - it is after all a PvP centric game and this premisse alone is a guarantee that no other MMO offers. Every single MMO will have a chunk of its PvP player base leaving for GW2. PvPers are kind off sick of being considered a minority when in fact, they are not. Its just convenient for devs to pass that message along.
  10. "Patches improve the game, right?" Where the heck have you been in the past years??? As per Bethesda's and recently, Bioware's decree, it has been set that patches no longer fix but instead break several issues in games. "Patches" have also began to constantly pay no heed to published patch notes, therefore not breaking any already broken issues, which is a positive note. Not breaking them in the same way that they were already broken. However, its is perfectly possible that patches expand on the broken"ness" of a certain issue, but in a totally diferent direction. Christ, uninformed people.
  11. AS may other posters already said, GW2 is taking - theoretically - the leap you are sugesting, incorporating a "mix" of typicl theme park MMOs and sandboxes. Staged beta is coming and people will be able to have an idea if ANet will indeed deliver on the features they are proud to announce. I am not sure SW:ToR will survive with a healthy playerbase the Diablo 3 and GW2 release. For the many reasons already know, and specially because they are going to loose the vast majorityof their disheartened PvP player base. Because one thing is for sure: GW2 WILL have better PvP than SW:ToR. Its not hard to offer a better PvP experience than SW:ToR and, well, its a PvP centric game. If ANet cant get a better PVP experience comparing to TOR, in a PVP centric game they may as well close their doors. GW2 wont be the third coming, but I bet the PvP will be better than TORs. And that is gonna cost BW.
  12. I logged on earlier than most of my guildies. So they start logging in, first words that come up in the chat: <Guildie> Hey m8 what did Bioware break today? Of course, a big BW flame fest followed. This very question just really disheartened me. Can't explain why, but this is the fame Bioware is beginning to have. Im just ...disapointed by BWs performance. The more the time passes, the lesser is the confidence in Bioware in fixing what needs to be fixed - the blatant bugs, the UI, the fix one thing-break 10, the not fixing what is announced that its fixed. Its not just a matter of not adressing issues: they try - aparently - and they constantly fail AND create new dificulties. They announce it, and fail to deliver. Trust in the supplier is one of the core fundamentals for good business, and thats going away. Everyday that passes we get the confirmation that if Bioware had made an MMO with any theme other than Star Wars, the game would be dead... yesterday.
  13. ...following up on the post above me, combat log would be helpful
  14. I can see this clip going into many threads
