  1. Fallen Empire was what got me hooked to the game, got me hooked to Eternal Throne, and now I'm waiting for the next expansion.

I do wish there was more solo content like Star Fortress and Eternal Championship to do to keep me subbed.

I still want all of our companions back. After redoing Chapter 1 of Fallen Empire, I miss Kira and Doc. :( I hope they will all come back as alerts in the next few months.

It depends on what the devs want. Do they want me to just sub for the story, and then unsub? Or do they want to keep me playing? If they want me to remain subbed, there needs to be more for me to do and grind.

  2. Story was what got me hooked, and story was what made me sub to get this latest expansion.

While I am happy with this change in direction into a solo online-RPG, I wish there was more to keep me subbed. I wish there was more solo group content like eternal championship or star fortress.

One content which SW:TOR hasn't touched on is companion content.

    Bigger Missions

The biggest potential would be, to have companion content where you send them out on bigger missions, and the success chance depends on the correct decisions and the companion influence. We saw hints of it when you had to choose whether Aric or Kaliyo should do something in one of the chapters of Fallen Empire.

This will be similar to WoW's table missions, but you could always enhance it for SW:TOR.

Mass Effect 3 Effective Military Strength

I am disappointed that there is no Mass Effect 3-like group effort where you need to reach 100% war score to launch an attack on the Eternal Fleet. I thought that's why we are recruiting all these people, so that they all chip in and increase the success chance against the Eternal Empire. That's why you have to choose whether to recruit a disagreeable companion/faction in the name of beating the greater enemy.

There could be synergy, one group may hate the other, and your strength as a commander determines whether or not you can keep them in line.

Link between Operations and solo player

I thought the Revan fight was a nice link between an operation and solo players.

Raiders can do it like a normal operation.

Solo players can also do the solo version of it, and how did you write it? The combined forces of Republic and Empire helped weaken the place. And in the fight, major npcs helped you.

Like the Effective Military Strength, you could make companions weaken the operation in the similar way, and also do dailies to further lower the EMS needed to "launch an attack". Then you get to do the last boss for CXP.

This can be a weekly thing, that keeps people playing, grinding for companion influence.

  3. The idea is good. It just needs to be refined.

However like Artifact Power in WoW, the major problem with GXP is that you cannot see it how far you are progressing. You cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel. You feel completely helpless against the power of RNG, compared to the old token system where at least you know what you're getting, and you can then gauge how much you need to do.

For all we know, CXP could be better for you than the old token system, but currently there is a perception problem. It is an unknown, it confuses and scares people, and it causes people to stress.

But we do need to rule out people who just want everything on a silver platter. These people plague WoW too and their opinions on wanting everything within a week can be ignored.

However, if CXP really is bad, we should discuss ways to improve it, such as less reliance on RNG.

For example, I do believe they need to implement some form of "bad luck protection", to eliminate the extremes of RNG.

  4. The old Exotic Isotope Stabilizers dropped in Star Fortress and the Eternal Championship. There are 87 of them collecting dust in my bank.

In fact I think I got my first Refined Isotope Stabilizer from the Eternal Championship. I haven't checked Star Fortress yet but I read disturbing rumours that they removed all loot from it, including decorations.

I hope it is an oversight, but yeah you could try Eternal Championship for your source of Isotopes.

  5. Replaying the quality chapters of Fallen Empire and Eternal Throne is a great idea. It allows people to revisit the quality story without the need to create an alt.

    1. But, is it possible to let people re-play the class stories, Rise of the Hutt Cartel, and Shadows of Revan?

I know it is hard because the quests are integrated in the world, but if somehow you could make it work, it would further establish your new identity as a online RPG.

Maybe you could remove the missions in the world, and keep the class-specific instances. Simply add some text narrative as a replacement for the world missions, and teleport people to the class-specific instances one after the other.

  6. There are winners and losers in every game shift, and in this case the losers are the raiders.

I do feel bad for the people losing out in SW:TOR's new identity, and I support you voting with your wallet if the game no longer caters to you. Only time will tell whether this new game identity is sustainable in the long run.

But there are plenty of MMO that offers raiding, while SW:TOR is probably the only one of it's kind that focuses on single-player and the KOTOR style story.

The previous expansion was what got me hooked to the game, and made me look forward to this current expansion. And now I look forward to the next expansion.

I like this new identity, or the shift from MMO to online RPG. I feel like this is what SW:TOR should have been in 2011. Scattering story across numerous locations in a MMO wasn't a good implementation. You already see people just doing class missions because they are the only interesting missions worth doing.

Replaying older chapters at a higher difficulty is a nice touch. This is a much better marriage between a story RPG and a MMO.

I hope for more solo content like Star Fortress, or some form of content that you send your companions out on.

  7. I have to disagree but in a respectful manner.

I did not like the vehicle combat. I thought chapter 1 of the previous expansion was excellent, because there was no change of avatar, and the action all came from my character.

I feel that vehicle combat needs to be optional, or it's own mini-game. Constantly switching between character and vehicle disrupted the nice flow for me.

Having said that I don't have a problem with you enjoying it. But for me personally it wasn't fun.

  8. I love the chapters too, but I wish each chapter was 2 hours instead of 1.

I feel KotFE is what SW:TOR should have been since the beginning. Online RPG with a few group content to support it.

I would love more "soloable group content" like Star Fortress. I feel the random elements in it don't go far enough.

Also, maybe you all could learn from WoW's Mission Table? I feel they were copying from you all but WoW has a different demographics and it didn't work out in there. But it may work out better in a Bioware game.

Kinda like the campaign of Mass Effect 3, where you need to reach 100% victory to launch an assault on the Reapers. Some npcs add a few %, other groups add a few %.

I mean we have too many companions that are just collecting dust. We can put them to good use.

  9. So this is basically any EA Sports game that you described. Or any FPS. There is economy there, there is optional group content. And they have a massive solo contnet. What they don't have is monthly subscription fee.

Last time I checked, SW:TOR is F2P. Granted the F2P is quite restrictive, but you can always play for free.

Also if you're not interested in group content, you can just download them from any torrent site for free.

And with that torrent comment, it is clear that you are not interested in an intelligent conversation, and are just looking to pick a fight on the forums.

And you wan't more soloable content. Like we don't have enough already.

That's like saying we don't have enough FPs and Ops already. We're talking about new ones.

  10. In that case pls sell me the idea why should we be online and paying a monthly sub.

Because there is still an economy that people work towards, through the GTN. People trade with one another.

Grouping up would be an optional feature. The fact that the majority of players allegedly prefer to solo heroics instead of grouping up, is proof that there is no need to always group up.

I did ask for more soloable group content, and I didn't say completely ignore FPs and Ops. But more focus on solo content, with the option to group up. And less focus on FPs and Ops (doesn't mean never).

  11. Yeah I don't like gimmicky fights like the shield.

I prefer if you still use your main abilities, then lure Arcann to a spot, break something like an explosion, to weaken him. Which is quite common in boss fights in FPs.

Lightsaber abilities could be magnified, for roleplay reasons. You learn the combined teachings of Satele and Marr (2 heavyweight lore figures), and the key to the fight is actually the shield. It feels underwhelming.

  12. I like the episodic approach of KotFE, and the story delivers. KotFE is what made me continue my sub.

I just wish each chapter was longer than an hour.

I also like "soloable group content" in the form of Star Fortress. I wish there was more.

I would support the alleged rumours of SW:TOR heading into the direction of an online RPG, where it caters to solo and casual players more. It would be a nice alternative to other MMOs where if you want raiding, you can play other MMOs like WoW. SW:TOR can be the RPG alternative of MMOs.

  13. I'm happy with the episodic nature of the expansion, and the MMO moving towards story and casual content.

I just wish for a chapter to be 3 hours long instead of 1 to 2 hours for example.

When I returned to the game a few months ago, I played 10+ chapters in one go. It was a mind-blowing experience. It generated enough goodwill for me to remain subbed to the game.

I wish the devs were more open in what direction they plan to take with the MMO. If they plan to make it a more solo MMO, I'm happy with "soloable" group content like Star Fortress and the heroics that we have now.

I also wish for alerts to be more meaningful, instead of just a few steps for Broonmark.
