  1. Interesting question, for which I have no answer, but look forward to others. My jedi was sort of grey. He took mostly LS decisions, but also did a certain amount of revenge killing, married his girlfriend and had no qualms about killing the emperor. He ended up with about 1200 ds points and was still granted the title of master, so I'd guess that if there're two endings, you nave to do more than just kill the emperor to get the second one.
  2. It depends on where you start. For people that haven't put work into gear and don't pvp, those 51 armoring and mods are pretty important. It's all a matter of perspective.
  3. Good to hear. I think you'll enjoy them. If you're jedi was purely ls, I'd suggest doing that again with one who's more open to pragmatism. It really changes the feel of the story, especially once you get your last companion.
  4. I've never played another mmo that held my interest. I need story, and swtor has that in abundance. I've been playing of what? A year? And still haven't done all the stories. Until you reach endgame, this game is perfect. Even then, no one is stopping you from making new characters and there's plenty of fun to be had in groups if you're social and not the 'race through everything as fast as possible' type. Apart from Dragon Age: Origins, I've never had so much fun playing a game, and this has the additional advantage of other humans, some of whom don't suck.
  5. The rebellions are actually stated by a SIS agent in the knight storyline, and we see Ord Mantell. All you have to do is compare the two stations, Corruscant and Dromund Kaas to see the crime aspect. I don't think that's a reach. As far as I remember, we only have one slave rebellion, instigated purposely by a sith. Hmm...better refresh my memory about there being a specific branch of the military? I don't recall that.
  6. Holy crap, dudes. Is it really necessary to jump all over someone for being pleased about a patch time and having the courtesy to thank the devs for it? It's not like there might not be down time on the next occasion, and what would it matter if there wasn't? Don't you have something better to do?
  7. The Sith code doesn't have to be interpreted as it it and the emotions that power them don't have to be destructive. That being said, even my sith think that much of what the empire does is evil, and while they don't know everything the knights do, think that the galaxy might be better off without the emperor. Still, there's good and bad on both sides. The republic commits atrocities, they just feel bad about it. Crime is rampant, society is fragmented, and it's rife with internal rebellions which kill thousands, or so it seems. The empire is virtually free of those things (except atrocities), but at the cost of freedom. While many in the empire seem irredeemably bad, the republic seem like hypocrites, and the jedi try to live up to a standard that's doomed to failure since it goes so utterly against human nature It seems to me that there must be some middle ground between the two that's both more right and more honest.
  8. Heh, I can totally understand why you want to do this. I dealt with that by remaking my agent on another server so I can play him again.
  9. I can agree with this. That's why I enjoy playing a light side Sith as much as I do. It would take immense courage an fortitude to defy all that is taught and choose a different path. The first time I played a warrior, not knowing which choices might have repercussions (which sadly none of them really do), every decision and conversation was fraught with peril and tension because I expected to be discovered at any time. People compare the knight story to the warrior one unfavorably, but I think that does it a disservice. The warrior story is one of peril from outside, from society, while the knight story is equally perilous, but on an internal level--and the choices as you progress build in such a way that my jedi ended up being my most DS character. Still LS, but definitely no longer pure by the view of the order.
  10. Yes, this really needs to happen. At least adding legacy names to the drop down list. The other night while typing tired I sent someone a whole bunch of expensive gear.
  11. Black Hole has a shuttle to take you there outside the spaceport. Oh, and there's someone on the fleet to send you there.
  12. I never thought I'd make an imperial character, but not only did I make one, I made many. In beta, I decided to try a sith warrior, thinking that I'd be playing republic when the game came out and not wanting to be spoiled. The voice acting was so great and the story so compelling that my first character on release was also a sith warrior--and my next was an imperial agent. Now I actually feel more at home in the empire than the republic--light side trying to create change, sure, but empire.
  13. Geez, I hope they don't slow down getting BH gear. I'm already at my grinding threshold. There's a reason I haven't played mmos before this one.
  14. I dunno about that. I have a LS warrior and a ls inquisitor. Both are good stories and don't forget that the inquisitor wasn't raised to be a sith. Both work fine. That being said, a big part of the warrior story is being surrounded by danger from all sides and an expectation of a certain kind of behavior. Going against that makes for an even more dangerous and intense story and changes your relationships with certain companions significantly, so I'd recommend the ls sith warrior first, but would still suggest that you play the inquisitor as well.
  15. You should also do Boarding Party and the Foundry, for sure. There's some important stuff there. For heroics, the thing that makes most of them fun is the challeging fights, which won't be the case if you're over level. I love Voss, and the mood of the place, so I still enjoy Voss heroics, myself.
  16. I'd welcome it, myself. He was a great antagonist.
  17. You should really just play it. It's probably the best story in the game with all kinds of twists and turns that you really don't want to know in advance. I just can't recommend it more highly. And the marksmanship sniper is incredibly fun to play (and absolutely deadly at higher levels)--this coming from someone who generally prefers melee.
  18. I haven't finished Jaesa's dialogues, because she kind of creeps out my LS warrior. WAY too good an actress, and the fact that she keeps it up when they're alone in the wilds of Hoth and the like make him want to sleep in armor, lol. Anyway, I don't know what happens with her dialogues yet or some mission that might be related (don't tell me ), but they've set her power up to be a big deal and we have to remember that we're only in the first 3 chapters. It may play a large part in the next 3. In fact, it would be quite a wasted opportunity if it didn't. I think it's meaningful that she's the only character you can really change, which makes me think that might prove to be meaningful, too. Really, she suits the prophecy far more than Vette.
  19. The empire is a dangerous place. If the republic isn't trying to kill you than everyone around you is in a bid to advance their positions. It makes sense that there's a high turnover at the top. That being said, I don't think most deaths can be taken at face value. Given how powerful at least some of these characters are, they may not actually be dead.
  20. My assassin is LS. He doesn't dislike her because she's ls, but because she's so annoyingly pissy, lol. He gets seriously irritated when he goes out of his way to give her something really nice and she says 'that's quite nice' in that disinterested tone. There's such a thing as manners, jedi.
  21. I don't think we can know at this point. The emperor can occupy bodies other than his own, so even with his body dead, there's the potential for him to occupy another 'voice.' All we really know is that something of him still exists, but not what or how. Me, I think we'll see the emperor again and that his wrath will likely take him out this time. PS. The emperor is the most powerful being in the galaxy so to me it's a very good thing that the knight couldn't destroy him entirely, especially given that previous heros failed to do so. That would make the knight just too awesome. The emperor is a bit like the devil, storywise. He can be defeated, but I'll be surprised if he's ever destroyed. I think he'll always be out there somewhere, hanging over the heads of everyone on both sides like impending doom.
  22. The empire as it stands is certainly evil as is the emperor, but the people within that empire can be either. Lord Scourge, for example, is obviously DS, regardless of the neutrality of companions, but he isn't evil--a big Ayn Rand fan, true, but not evil. My Sith are very interested in what Kel'eth Ur has to say, and to me, his philosophy is one of the most interesting parts of the game. If there is no DS and LS, just different methods of accessing the power, then there's room for more methods than are commonly used now. Maybe there's no ls or ds, just what's in one's heart. Sith can use the force by chanelling positive emotions as well as negative, but can jedi truly be emotionless? Not really. And is cutting yourself off from emotion really a good thing, if it's possible at all in the long term? I don't think so, myself. Maybe my LS sith and grey jedis are the way of the future.
  23. People who don't pvp might well need tionese gear to do well in the dailies and hard modes that will get them better, so they aren't just for companion gear. Oh wait, misunderstood the question. Arent the crystals like coin as opposed to bills, where an item takes both?
