  1. Would you have 5k cartel points without giving Bioware money? It's always astonishing that a simple realization like 'if I have to pay for it, then it isn't free' is not obvious to all our fellow brothers and sisters. You may have a bargain, but it isn't free.
  2. You did pay to get those 5k cartel coins, don't you remember? As a rule: if you have to pay to get something, it isn't free.
  3. Did you read somewhere that they would try to get more money from subscribers? All I read was about getting new players into the game by lowering the entry costs. I guess if they announced to raise the subscription fee month by month by a margin, you would still say 'A for-profit company trying to make money? Say it ain't so!'. And as a reminder, subscribers do already pay.
  4. I feel the same way: Yes, Bioware is trying to get new people into the game with their F2Play option and their so called 'tailored gameplay experience' via the cartel market. At the same time (and this is what they didn't tell us!) they try to get more money from the subscribers. So this is basically their business mantra: Annoy F2P people into buying stuff and get more money from subscribers. It's just disgusting.
  5. In 16 man operations and when you are doing world bosses or warzones?
  6. In 16 man operations and while doing warzones/World Bosses?
  7. i7 2600 and gtx 570 sli@ max settings/1080p here. As soon as there are more than 8 players (Warzones, 16 man operations), fps drop below 30. Worldbosses are especially bad. I once got a reply from a CSR telling me that my cpu is the culprit.
  8. My fellow blaster/rifle/assault weapon users, if you are like me then you are thouroughly annoyed by some weapon sounds, especially if it is paired with a weapon model you'd like to use. So here is a quality of life featuer I would like to see: customzizable weapon sounds. Plain and simple!
  9. I as a subscriber feel treated worse than before the free 2 play change. Your design philosophy changed from 'getting the subscribers their money's worth' to 'get more money from the subscribers'. It's not comfortable any more.
  10. STOP making content subscribers have to pay for ON TOP of their subscription fee. We are NOT getting our money's worth!
  11. You, Sir, know nothing about the man, the company or the way the game is made. In your small minded world you drew connections between this man and your perceptions of this game's health. You did this in a way a conspiracy theorist does it because he is too simple to digest a complexer truth. It's still astonishing how spiteful simpletons like the OP get their crap in every forum.
  12. I think Bioware broke this rule: 'Don't develop free2play content which relies on making subscribers pay real money ON TOP of their subscription". We do not get our money's worth anymore, we'd have to pay on top of our monthly fee.
  13. Still have the feeling you get your money's worth as a subscriber? Or does it start to feel ANNOYING by all this effort being made by Bioware's part to get you to pay more money on top of your subscription? The "it's not mandatory" argument doesn't work anymore, if it ever did. Nothing is mandatory so why not charge for that too on top of the suscription? Honestly, if your free 2 play model works by milking the subscribers for more money, then there is something awfully wrong. I can see charging the free players for something, but the subscsribers? No, Bioware, simply no. I was open minded about the whole free2play thing, but you're permanently crossing the line and slapping YOUR SUBSCRIBERS.
  14. I was checking darthhater and found this: http://db-ptr.darthhater.com/items/57138/chapter_4_rise_of_the_hutt_cartel/ Is this related to Makeb?
  15. You never actually fly your ship and the planets feel more like levels without choice between questhubs.Having played Dark Age of Camelot, Star Wars Galaxies and World of Warcraft, Swtor's planets really do feel least open for exploration. They are comparativley small, linear and offer no choice where to got or sense of exploration (again, compared to those games listed above).
  16. You had the option to travel by shuttle OR do it yourself in SWG.
  17. I think what the thread starter means is that the planets feel more like levels. I share that distinct feeling. Nothing beats an open and seamless world with alternate routes, various questhubs to pick at your leisure. Swtor does not have that. Swtor is linear and very segmented. I think they should have gone with maybe three planets but the amount of content they have now. Plus less linear questhub-design and more variety on the planets themselves.
  18. I use the gtx 570. I even tried gtx 570 sli, which didn't help under those circumstances described, therefore the CPU (as stated by the CSR) is the bottleneck. If an i7 2600 is the bottleneck in a MMORPG with 16 players fighting, then it clearly points at optimization problems.
  19. I see. Those are the circumstances (at least) I am talking about. As soon as there are 16 ppl fighting there is a noticable drop in frames per second right down to choppiness (around and below 25 fps). I was told by a CSR that my CPU (i7 2600) is too slow. I think this CPU should be able to handle 16 fighting players on screen, especially in a MMORPG. Hence I ask for an update about optimization.
  20. So that means no dips to 20-25 fps at max settings, 1080p and in a 16 man operation or the Nightmare Pilgrim on Voss?
  21. There usually is a toggle for chat bubbles in other games. Problem solved.
  22. As for my PSU, I bought a very good one to have no unpleasent surprises: Corsair AX850. Still, the i72600, 8GB Ram and gtx570 (enabling the second gtx 570 does not matter)@1080p with everything maxed out only deliver 25-30 fps in a fight in a 16 man operation. In some warzones the frames per second drop to around 40. It most definitely is not the PSU. Again, a CSR told me my CPU was to weak.
  23. I don't look at graphics as a seeling point either, but the performance in a multiplayer environment especially in a MMO. And the difference in performance from 8 player operation to 16 players is huge. That's what's bothering me and other people. Again, two gtx 570 can't do it, neither does a i7 2600 (which a CSR told me is the problem, it's to slow for swtor under those conditions). So if a i7 2600 is to slow for 16 people + Boss in swtor, but more than sufficient for 64 people in BF3 (with more demanding visuals) then the lack of optimization is obvious. We are only talking about 16 characters on screen doing their fighting. Maybe now you can understand why there is some asking for optimization.
  24. Have you tried 16 man operations or the Nightmare Pilgrim with max settings at 1080p? What's your fps there?
  25. I'm running an i7 2600 with a GTX 570 at 1080p everything set to highest. In 16 man operations the framerate drops to well under 30. Running gtx 570 SLI doesn't change a thing. I then created a thread in the customer support forum and finally got an answer from a CSR stating that my CPU is too weak. So yes, this game could use some significant optimizations.
