  1. this game is a cesspool of bugs. fix it. you guys are just an embarrassment to the mmorpg gaming genre.
  2. I never really was into star wars that much, but I will admit it. I was one of those people who got sucked into the SWTOR hype. "man, i cant wait for swtor!!!", yeh i was one of those guys. I missed SWG, and everyone raved about how amazing that game was (pre-combat patch), so I thought maybe i would be part of something amazing here, like... a pioneering game that pushed the boundaries of the MMORPG genre. I have played KOToR, hunted, fallout and mass effect, so I had a certain expectation of this game. I expected SWTOR to be of the same quality as these other games. I was very, very disappointed. I don't really know how to say this without sounding like an offensive jackarse or a troll, but seriously... this game BLOWS. it blows HARD. i will start with the good aspects of the game. the BEST aspect, was the voice acting: it was absolutely spot on! and i found myself engrossed in every quest i went on, wanted to listen to every word said (which is odd, because in other games i tend to just skip passed all the quest text). 10/10 on this one, truly amazing stuff. space missions: i know opinion is divided on this one, but personally I like this 'on rails' system, since it makes more sense because you have lots of crew members and so somebody is steering the ship while you control the weapons / tactical movement systems. now for the bad: the graphics engine is really bad. I feel like I'm playing city of heroes again, I mean... it was a great game like 10 years ago (one of my favourite super hero games) but we're in 2012 now... we have graphically stunning mmorpgs like Aion, TERA, RIFT and GW2, and now we have this game which honestly, looks like a pile of carp compared to those games. and then we have the end-game operations. they are an ABSOLUTE MESS. when i raid with my guild, we are constantly hoping (praying!?) that the boss we are fighting does not bug out and wipe us. every single day i am seeing more and more bugs in the game, and bugs in boss encounters. i know this is a freshly released game, but there are just SOOO MANY bugs that it honestly feels like the game is in alpha test or something ontop of that the UI is absolute garbage. it is not customizable at all, not scalable, and we can't move UI elements around at all, and bioware have the audacity to try and 'impress' us all with their announcement that they intend to give us UI scaling in a future patch?! NICE JOB, GUYS! you gave us something that should have been in the freakin' game at LAUNCH

  4. how is merc better? Sniper has - MUCH higher damage - better CC - longer range merc is more defense orientated with their heals and damage shield overall i think they are both good at seperate stuff. i prefer the sniper style of gameplay though (straight up burst rather than grinding people down slowly)
  5. entrench has never failed on me. i use it sometimes to specifically protect myself from pbaoes when i see people are lining themselves up to use it
  6. yes, thats why i asked for people to post their results from this specfic fight
  7. the pve sets at 50 look pretty good also I kinda liked the trench coats you got as a sniper. very matrixy
  8. dunno what you crazy kids are talking about, but i only wish to compare my DPS with sniper specs I don't really care how much DPS a sorc does on this fight, i merely picked this fight because its great for snipers
  9. it means you can save 2 different specs and then switch between them when you like (out of combat) just allows you to have a spec for pve and a different spec for pvp, or whatever you like RIFT did it and WoW too and it works pretty well
  10. Marksman probably seems like its doing more DPS because it produces big numbers, so hitting for 4k damage every 3 seconds is gonna seem like more DPS than hitting for 300 damage every 0.2 seconds
  11. I managed to pull off 1.1k DPS on the infernal council boss in nightmare mode EV I don't know if that is good or bad as I have nothing to compare it to, but I plan to respec to marksman for the next nightmare EV raid so I can test marksman DPS compared to this Post your results too if you have them, so maybe we can find the optimal DPS spec for raiding. If you are gonna do the same test as me, then use the same boss on nightmare mode because I think the hard/normal versions have less HP
  12. so you want to nerf one of our amazing utility abilities for PVE (shatter shot)? -20% defense is useless for pve since mobs dont deflect anyway that change to entrench would be VERY overpowered, trust me. pyromancers had a similiar ability called 'glyph of strength' in RIFT that made them permanently immune to CC while stationary and reduced their damage taken (and made their spells 20% chance to stun). so they could just stand there like a turret and completely destroy an entire raid of people while healers spam heals on him the camo idea was interesting i guess, but the 100% ambush crit would be ridiculously OP in pvp due to how hard ambush crits when you have good gear + high surge and the 10% armour pene from that marksman talent. it was too strong in WoW so why bring it over here? overall Snipers are fine in pve, but its hard to tell due to the lack of dps meter in pvp, i believe snipers are about right (perhaps even a little too strong when they get good gear) p.s to the poster above: what is wrong with Sniper Volley? sure, an extra 1 energy per second is not much, but its pretty damn good for a passive I do agree about the heavy armour bit though, BW should probably think about adding some an penetration stat and put it on high-end pvp gear
  13. if i was a developer for bioware, this is how i would improve the sniper class: Change the (2) set bonus on PVE gear, so that instead of restoring 10 energy when using target acquired/illegal mods, it now increases your maximum energy by 20 and also restores 2 energy per second for 10 seconds. Change the (4) set bonus on PVE gear. it now reduces the energy cost of Snipe, Series of Shots and Interrogation Probe by 2 Change target acquired & illegal mods so that in addition to giving 20% alacrity, it also increases accuracy by 20% for 10 seconds Plama Probe has been revamped: Plasma Probe: Deploys a plasma probe that clings to the target and deals 1944-2275 points elemental damage over 18 seconds up to 3 enemies within 10 meters of the initial target (like a PBAoE that follows the target around, hitting his teamates) Rapid Fire has been revamped: Rapid Fire: Increases energy regeneration rate by 100% for 10 seconds. Using this ability does not trigger the global cooldown. New ability added: Caltrops: Deploys caltrops at the target area which deal 243-347 kinetic damage per second and slows up to 5 enemies who attempt to pass through the area. Lasts 10 seconds. 2 minute cooldown. i was bored :< maybe i can think of some more stuff tomorrow, which i'm sure bioware will implement in a hotfix later this week~
  14. so what? I stack surge/crit and I pretty much rely on it as a sniper, and this ain't gonna change much at all. it just means you can stack surge to ridiculous levels and 2 shot people now. OH NO THEY BALANCED THE GAME OOHHHHHHHHHHH CANCEL MY SUB RIGHT NOW get out. stack power instead, it provides much more reliable burst.
  15. i actually rolled on this PVE server because i couldn't be bothered waiting in a 10~ hour queue to enter the game most intelligent players did the same. i imagine only the naive/casuals/SPECIALPEOPLE went to pvp servers, since it was pretty well-known in beta that the open world pvp in this game is a steaming pile of hrose siht, hence no reason to roll on pvp servers and suffer 63 hour queues at launch
  16. it's not against the rules. I kill trade because i don't find it fun to spend 2-3 hours collecting crates.
  17. this is one of the best talents in the lethality tree useful for both pve and pvp
  18. I have been comparing my DPS to that of a marksman Sniper in my guild (on the 'council' event just before Soa in EV) and I always kill my boss first, out of everyone (including him) I know for a fact that he is a good player, because I used to watch his energy bar and he would never drop below 60% energy and would be constantly DPSing He killed his add about 6 seconds after I did. and he has better gear them me. (I am in PVP gear, he is in rakata gear) That tells me that either: a) I am getting lucky with crits b) he is slacking c) I simply do more dps than him Bear in mind that this happens pretty much every time we do that encounter...
  19. LEFT and RIGHT from the point of view of where you start the match not a hard concept to grasp
  20. yeh because Tomb of Freedon Nadd is the #1 pvp server in the world! oh wait i shiat on scrubs like you.
