I do think 5 minutes is a bit much. For the effect they have, 2 minutes seems like it'd be much more reasonable for the reusable ones.
  3. I don't like the idea of faction transfers because then you'll just get Republic players, who're bitter about being the underdogs, going to the Empire. And thus the problem would get worse. Now, I do like the idea of offering a Defector quest on servers for the overpopulated faction. Say the Republic outnumber the Empire on a server 2:1. A quest chain opens on that server for Republic players to defect to the Empire. Or vice versa. For example, a Jedi Sage finds himself falling to the Dark Side, leaving the Jedi Order to become Sith. Though out stages of the quest chain, he's throwing fewer boulders and more lightning bolts as his Consular abilities are replaced with their Inquisitor counterparts. Comparatively, a Sith Warrior could have a quest that involves him meeting a Jedi Master. Perhaps losing a duel to the Jedi Master in the story line. Questioning his Dark methods, perhaps abandoning his anger and hatred. Becoming a Padawan to the Master as he joins the Jedi Order. They could even go so far as to cause the switch to impact your companions. Some companions might abandon you after your change of heart, others might come along with you. Certainly introduce new companions to replace the ones that leave you. It could be used as a means of adding creativity to the game. Come to think of it, I'm not aware of an MMO that lets you defect to the opposing faction in such a way.
  4. Bioware did have blatant favoritism for the Empire and the Sith. Evidence? Darth Malgus statuette in the CE. Great, if you're an Imperial. Not so great if you're into the Republic. Good thing Republic players had the option to get a Shatele Shan statuette...oh, wait, they didn't get that option because Bioware was too busy pushing Darth Malgus down our throats.
  5. I primarily agree with this. If Blizzard did anything right in Cataclysm, it was instituting a 1:1 ratio cap on Tol Barad. On my Server, Alliance went from constantly losing Wintergrasp to mostly winning Tol Barad, because the Horde couldn't completely stomp us with overwhelming numbers anymore.

It sounds like a clever idea, sure. But I can't imagine a lot of Imperials being willing to ditch the more populated side to go to the less populated side. But I do like the idea of being able to defect to the opposite faction via a quest chain. A Sith Lord "seeing the Light" and joining the Jedi Order. Or a Jedi falling to the Dark Side and becoming Sith.
  7. Maybe if it was just one mistake. And if that one mistake wasn't such a colossal **** up.
  8. This is a disgrace. I have no respect for the Devs if they let the players who abused this exploitative system go without some punishment. Rollbacks are needed. Bans would be great. You disappoint me. I'm seeing very little reason to continue playing if this is how you treat your customers. It's bad enough you do nothing at all to curb the gross faction imbalance. And even show blatant favoritism toward the Empire. It's bullcrap. If I wanted to feel unappreciated by the developers of the game I play, I'd have kept playing Alliance in WoW.
  9. No rollback? No punishment for people exploiting the broken system? That is completely screwed up and will probably ruin the pvp environment in the game for a long time. Also, Republic players aren't doing any of the camping. It's the Imperials doing it because, frankly, Republic doesn't have the numbers. Maybe if you did a decent job balancing the factions. And didn't show blatant favoritism to encourage players to go Empire.
  10. It's sad, because the finished product is essentially the opposite of what was advertised. Fun? Favors guerrilla tactics? Not even close.
  11. What do you expect? Actually, this is a great example of what I was talking about earlier. When Faction Imbalance is allowed to get so out of control, such as Empire players massively outnumbering Republic players, this kind of thing stops happening. Some Republic players reroll Empire for easier pvp and grouping because of higher numbers, some Republic players realize they're massively gimped in PvP and stop participating, and others just quit out of frustration. As such, I propose drastic balancing measures be taken. Ideas: 1. Institute caps on character creation on imbalanced servers. If the imbalance reached 2:1, prevent any more characters from being made for the higher-populated faction on that server until the balance improves. To prevent the Imperials from making a bunch of level 1 Republic characters to manipulate the balance, base the balance on the number of level 50 characters on that server. 2. Merge high-Republic servers (like those exist) with less balanced servers. 3. Move players or entire guilds from one server to another. 4. Provide more positive endorsement and advertising for Republic. Why endorse the Empire with a Darth Malgus statue in the CE, with no Shatele Shan option for Republic players. That was pretty messed up and shows obvious bias.
  12. Dear Bioware. Please fix this broken mess. I really like this game, I don't want to quit it just because it's getting to be borderline unplayable. The Valor gained from abusing this exploit NEEDS to be rolled back. And the players that did the exploiting should get at least a suspension. They should be made example of for exploiting a broken system. Also... Faction balance NEEDS to be addressed. Give definite motivation to roll the underpopulated faction. Fix the imbalance between mirror-class animations. Put a cap on character creation for grossly unbalanced servers. Force mandatory server transfers to make them more balanced. Endorse the Republic openly a lot more. Something. It's bad enough that you showed a distinct preference for the Empire (Evidence? Darth Malgus statuette. Where's the Shatele Shan option for Republic players? Bull crap.) Faction balance doesn't sort itself out. The longer the balance weigh so heavily in Imperial favor, the more Republic players will reroll to Imperial, stop contributing to PvP, or just quit the game. This latest event highlights just how bad faction imbalance is and how crippling it can be for the underpopulated faction.
  13. Good news. Just wish you could implement the Kira bug fix by itself sooner. "Major Patch" gives the impression it'll be a few weeks or months. And I'm tired of seeing my Jedi Knight going unplayed.
  14. I don't mind a queue once in a while. Even a 15 - 20 minute queue can be excusable. But queues for an hour or more are outrageous. I'd suggest bring up some more servers and offer free transfers. A few more PVP-RP servers are needed anyway.
