I've never done a HM and I was curious about a couple things: I know the bosses and their mechanics are upgraded but what about the trash? Are they all elite's or a mix of lvl 50's? ex: 1 or 2 elites, a few strongs and maybe regular 50's? Is CC necessary on trash? Am I ready? 50 VG Tank HP's = 17031 self buffed Armor = 7576 Damage Reduction = 50.23 Defensive Chance = 1551 Shield Chance = 52.50 Shield Absorb = 43.21 I "think" I'm ready, but I'm wondering if I need to up my absorb a bit more so it more closely balances with shield chance.

My VG is 50 and I've been doing dailies to gear up and such and was curious how the rest of you VG tanks pull groups when there are multiples and you need to CC a couple. in FP's? I've gotten mixed responses in game. it seems most still pull with MV and let CC take place after initial aggro. Maybe I'm just caught up in the past but that just sounds a little off to me, but still feasible, I suppose. Thoughts? How do you do it?

I can honestly say I've never seen a shield like that pop up over my guardian tank unless it's from my blade barrier. I thought the other guy was speaking of OH shield procs.

Any MMO I've ever played, back to vanilla EQ, (yes, I'm old), tanks have always been the most gear dependent class and that's why when guilds first start raiding, the MT get's first dibs on tank gear. So even though I do agree with the whole playstyle and mindset topic, I strongly disagree that gear is low priority for tanking.

This sort of thing only applies to pvp servers, IMO. I play on a PVE and don't PVP unless incredibly bored, which rarely happens, so the imbalance doesn't effect me one bit. If PVP is your thing, yea, this is a mess. Not everyone PVP's, simply due to past MMO experience and knowing that majority will play whatever class is dominating. It's a way to build their self esteem or something. Then there are people like me, that play what they like, how they like and could care less about PVP whiners. Just sayin.

Regardless of the amount protected, as I've read anywhere from 4k - 9k, the fact this can just be repeatably spammed to shield an entire pvp team seems a bit much. I don't play a caster but I think you get a debuff of some kind so you can't just repeatedly heal the same target over and over again in rapid succession. I'll give credit as far as that if our own casters don't use it on our team, shame on them. Still doesn't change the fact that you play a class that is definitely FOTM, haha. Try playing a Guardian or Jugg. May be too hard for you.

The issue isn't about the fact they are designed for burst. The issue is how often and how quickly they can consecutively use those bursts. There are certain countermeasures but they cannot be used as often as the bursts.

You people just refuse to see that Operative's and Sorc's are extremely OP'd. Enjoy it while you have it, because you will be getting nerfed or the other team will be getting buffed to the point that you won't be able to dent them. I've been in pugs where we wipe the floor with pre mades. A pre made just means they know each other or are in the same guild, it doesn't mean they are elite. And I don't think the OP was meant to single out playing with friends and such. Listen, anyone that's played other MMO's knows that the people that succeed early on, cry the most when the majority catch up to them. Let them have their fun, because it certainly won't last.

Well, forget that idea. Now when I go in the launcher and type in the password and security code, it goes to the next screen, the play button lights up and when I press it, I get a flash of the loading screen and then it goes straight to desktop. Seriously, I have never had an issue like this before and I've been in 2 beta's and EA. Something had to be done with the launcher or something. This makes no sense.

Hmm, I'm not sure about the hyperthreading. I have i5-760 quad core. It doesn't mention hyperthreading anywhere on the box or documentation.

Thanks for the response. So the tip I read, that I was trying to use, was when the game is launched, you alt +tab out and open task manager and set affinity on SWTOR.EXE to only the 0 and 1 core, by unchecking cores 3 & 4. It worked really good last night but now, my JG is on Voss and everytime I try to load it, the game just closes after 60 seconds or so. Last nigt I only did that trick to one copy of SWTOR.EXE, so I assume I need to do it to both?

I don't recall having 2 SWTOR.EXE's listed in my task manager. Is that normal? I was trying a tip last night for dual core CPU's and I thought I saw only one SWTOR.EXE. I bring this up, only because tonight, I've been DCing everytime I try to go to Voss or Correlia and it NEVEr used to do that.

If you can honestly say that the Empire classes are an exact mirror of the Republic class, you are full of crap. There's another post here showing all the advantages Empire has.
