  1. My friend was sent an email by me to do the 7 day trial. He did the required steps to sign up on the website and has been sitting there now for 4 hours waiting on pw email. If you want to attract players to your game, the best way is to make sure this system works flawlessly. Not having a new player gettting pissed off cause you failed to send the email.
  2. Actually the company "verant " created EQ, sony bought them out after a year or 2, first expansion that SONY made was shadows of luclin...remember the one where they changed the game engine to make it more like wow and lost 1/2 their playerbase?

    Yea, that.

Incidentally this is also the #1 reason most games are complete crap nowadays. Their all made by big coorporations instead of by people that actually enjoy the genre...it's all numbers and market research data...and no fun.

Your a little off on your dates.. SoL was release in late 2001, WoW was released initially on Nov 23, 2004.

Actually, they were all part of the same company but under different departments...read this.

Sony Online Entertainment's history can be seen as starting with Sony Interactive Studios America (SISA), an internal game development studio of Sony that formed around 1995. In 1996, John Smedley was put in charge of SISA's development of an online role-playing video game that would evolve into the MMORPG EverQuest. Smedley hired programmers Brad McQuaid and Steve Clover who had come to Smedley's attention through their work on the singleplayer RPG Warwizard.

In April 1998, Sony Online Entertainment (SOE) was formed by merging parts of Sony Online Ventures with Sony Pictures Entertainment. Within a matter of months after this change, Sony Interactive Studios America was renamed 989 Studios.

Towards the end of 1998, 989 Studios shifted its strategy to making PlayStation console games only. The company's computer game/online development branch spun off, initially calling itself RedEye Interactive and then soon after Verant Interactive.

EverQuest was Verant Interactive's breakthrough success and the franchise continues its popularity with Sony Online Entertainment

EverQuest launched with modest expectations from Sony on March 16, 1999 under its Verant Interactive brand and quickly became successful. Numbers continued rising at a steady rate until mid-2001 when growth slowed. As of 2004, Sony reported subscription numbers close to 450,000. In March 2000, Verant released EverQuest: The Ruins of Kunark, the first in a long list of expansions for EverQuest.

In April 2000, Verant hired former Ultima Online developers Raph Koster and Rich Vogel forming its office in Austin, Texas to develop Star Wars Galaxies for LucasArts. SOE acquired Verant in June 2000 and eventually promoted Brad McQuaid to be its Chief Creative Officer.[2] In October 2001, McQuaid resigned and went on to found Sigil Games Online, drawing many of the original developers of EverQuest from SOE to develop Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, an MMORPG that was released in January 2007.

  3. The shenanigans like that are not showing themselves on Darth Bandan server YET. All I see which I consider wrong happening is kill trading. Otherwise, on a daily basis my guild can get some decent 6 v 6 and higher pvp in the central area.
  4. You need to adjust the level of the indicator when it reaches below 5 seconds, you can barely even see it if there is one at all. I will think the button is ready and stand there looking like an idiot trying to get a skill to fire off...

My suggestion is keep the whole button greyed out until it reaches zero with a number inside the grey area so we know how much time is left instead of having to hover over the skill to see the timer.

People are screaming no addons no addons and no macros, which is fine with me but if thats going to be the case then adjust the timer and indicator better on your end pls.

  5. So myself (Guardian DPS specced), Trooper and Smuggler decided to go to PVP portion of Ilum to see what it was like. We used the tunnel to get there.

We immediately ran into Imperials, over the course of the next 3 hours we did battle with upwards of 10 imperials and at times we caught singles. It was actually fun to do battle this way. There are some glaring items that need adjusting and fixing. We had 3v1, 3v2,3v3, and at one point got zerged with 3v10.

    1. Turn off the ability to que to warzones either in that whole area OR while in combat. On more then one occasion if an Imperial was losing they would take a que to get away.

    2. Take away the buff you get for flipping areas when a person leaves the area or goes into a warzone. People are literally going into just the Ilum area, flipping areas then going into WZs with the buff.

    3. While we are on the topic of flipping the areas. I am not sure how it is setup now, but make the buff only stack if a person takes each individual area, not do the same area 5 times for x5 on the buff.

    4. This next one imo will be controversial but it is going to be needed if Republic is going to stand a chance in the PVP sections of Ilum. On death, just like in PVE there needs to be a wait timer. For example, the three of us did a 3x5, we killed all 5 but they just kept coming back because there is no timer and medcenter they rez at is so close. In the end, we got 5 kills for our daily/weekly but killed them around 12 times as a whole before they stopped coming back for more. IMO, 2 minutes is more then enough time on each death.

    5. Daily requires 30 kills, and that is way to much. Now maybe when we do a 30v30 it might work but I doubt we will get many of those. Drop this down to 18, thats about an hours worth if each side is avail and willing.

    6. Weekly, this needs adjusting down also to the dailyx5, so 90. You might get a few extra one day, you might get bare minimum for daily another. 150 right now is way to high.

    7. Turn off the who owns what base. This will cause more movement and imo more pvp overall as they will be required to check the bases.

My subscription is currently off, and due to expire tomorrow. I might resubscribe if I feel some changes are made for the better both in pvp and pve. Playing a Guardian has been rough with the stutter in skills, lag on abilities etc. I do look forward to seeing if they can fix the issues.

  6. Completely off-topic, but why do you feel the need to show everyone that you bought a CE in your sig? Is it some badge of honor or something?

Why do you feel the need to have those jumbled signs below yours? Oh I know cause its my choice and I felt like having it. Probably same reason everyone wants to have that purple lightsaber or the best gear, cause it feels good.

Not sure whats more annoying, the people who complain about it or the ones who throw insults via the internet cause they like to hide behind their monitor.

  7. 3 weeks in a row now I have done my weekly's, and 3 weeks now of opening Champion Bags I have gotten 2 relics(useless with no stats, rather use the Light Side V ones), and three yes THREE chest pieces. Seriously, check your RNG if your going to keep it random or allow for the trade in of the duplicate piece. Hell, even if it means you can trade it in for a Centurion piece instead thats fine. At least then I am not wasting my time, which in the current state of the game I am wasting my time.

I love this game, waited forever for this game. I want this game to succeed but as of right now you are turning people away with your lack of listening and common sense.

I feel lucky I am not the guy who has gotten 12 implants so far, talk about being pissed off.

OH, better idea...allow us to buy other classes stuff with the extra pieces for our companions. Yes, I know its PVP gear but why even bother wasting the item and time otherwise.

  8. So from reading these forums I have come to the conclusion that the relics are easily obtainable from the Champion bags. What I can not believe after having gotten my bags yesterday with Relics in them is that they contain NO endurance.

Why would you make them only have a clicky on them with no endurance? It was a 700 HP loss for me to put these on...there is no way in hell I am going to use these when its that much HP loss.

    Oversight maybe?

  9. You cannot complete those quests. If you notice those quests show up in your log when you get there and go away when you leave. All the quests are for is to show you which nodes are controlled by who and such. They are for your benefit of knowledge.
  10. Cyclone Slash > Force Sweep.

Thank you, have a nice day.

Just because you can't use ONE of your "AE"s doesn't mean another won't clear the clones.

The issue is Force/Kinetic vs. Energy.

Use your brains instead of whining about nothing some time. If you can't do it the way you're operating, CHANGE THE WAY YOU'RE OPERATING.

WOW, really...I did that and the emperor bowed at me immediately surrending to my superior skills with cyclone slash....

I have died enough to pay over 200k in repair bills. My gear is above average with 5 pieces of champion gear from pvp. I know my class and how to use it. I made the comment about the AOE's because a dev stated we need to use all our interrupts and abilities to beat the fight. We should not have to resort to LoS or "tricks" to beat this.

I simply do not understand why people have to act like smart butts and aholes on the forum, its like you feel you can get away with what ever you want because your hiding on the internet.

  11. Yes, Guardians need to be boosted to a sentinel's level, and sentinels need to be boosted further.. force using Melee classes are about 3-4 levels underpowered compared to non-force using classes.

Meaning simply this. A Level 46 ranged non-force using class is easily equal to a level 50 melee force using class.

Hell, Sentinels can tank almost as well as Guardians simply because they have the DPS to bring down the mobs faster.

It's all 'Doable' but the discrepancies are going to become apparent when all the huge raiding guilds get under way. The first choices will also be someone besides the melee classes. Because it just makes things easier for them.

BUT, Beyond all of this. the real question is, is it fun?

Annoying and frustrating, sure, but fun? Only sometimes.

You nailed it right on the head. I do enjoy my arch class alot, but I do not like resorting to "tricks" and such to beat a fight. I am not particularly happy with our skill trees either, could use some fine tuning and shuffling.

  12. The issue is that fixing this would take very little dev time.

Which is why its worth it to raise it as an issue, you have a good chance of getting it fixed.

On the other hand, crying about how you're not strong enough or other classes need to get nerfed is pointless, because game balances take a very long time to implement properly, and very few people bring a proper perspective to the table (EVERYONE wants their class to be a little bit stronger).

Well your assertion that it would take very little dev time was off, because the design team has stated its undoable already.

Yes, everyone wants their class stronger. However, I did not state anything about other classes because I feel their are balanced. The JK line is not, has been stated by the devs it is not and requires some work. It was rushed at the end, as stated by the devs.
