  1. The system we have now rewards some players more than others. I may play 10 times as much as you, may play twice as well as you. But you can get gear faster than me because of RNG. Doing your daily is not difficult, just a time sink. The OP is not suggesting free epics, he is not trying to make it easier. He is trying to make so that everyone progresses at the same rate so that we can enjoy a better balanced end game PvP. This proposed change makes sure that we still earn at the same average speed that Bioware already has it set to. They give us a 25% chance to earn 1 commendation and we need 20 to finish. In other words, it takes 80 bags or 5 weeks. The OP's system would require 80 commendations at a rate of 1 per bag so 80 bags or 5 weeks. It changes nothing other than eliminating the PvP lottery and the frustration some players have when they get screwed by bad luck. I am tired of winning and losing in games based on gear. Even though I am usually on the benefiting side (I play more, so I usually have the better gear) I would still prefer to win because I (or my team) beat the opponent(s).

    Sorcerer Nerf....

I agree about our utility (the good CC improvements are way too low in our trees which allows us to grab all of them and still have plenty of points for our damage). I agree that we can heal better as DPS spec than other classes that have heals when they are specced dps. I think we need some our trees overhauled so we have to commit higher into a spec to get certain abilities. But there is no way that you are getting 400-600k damage and 70-100k healing every warzone. It is not too hard to hit 200k and 75k consistently (unless you are faicing a premade that is making you a priority or is using CC intelligently). But 400k-600k either means an AoE fest in Voidstar or is uncommon (but possible) in other situations. Yes I've had WZs where I had 300k damage and 150k healing. But those are not the norm. 150-250k and 50-100k is more common (except for those AoE crazy ones). We need our utility and trees looked at. That will reduce our survivability. Which will reduce how long we are alive which means we will do less damage. Don't say that you are always doing that kind of damage because people will hear that and repeat it until Bioware believes it (since they obviously do little, if any, testing) and nerfs our damage rather than what is really out of hand: our utility. Or worse, they may nerf both utility and damage and leave the class absolutely worthless. And judging by what we've seen from Mythic and Bioware/Austin the past few years, I am pretty much expecting this to happen. I hope that they will be smart and improve PvP by brining us in line. But I really expect them to keep up the tradition of ignoring a problem until it is huge and then overdoing the change.
  3. I start the day calm and looking forward to PvP. An hour or so later I turn in my dailies and have 30 more champ commendations (aka 2 BM bags and no BM item) and it just leaves me frustrated again. Play til guildmates take a break and then go back to Kingdsoms of Amalur or something else. This is one thing that seems obvious. I don't necessarily want it to be easy. I just want it to be fair. If they want me to have an average of 4 BM commendations per week, then make sure I progress at that rate (aka, give me 1 commendation per bag and quadruple the price). I am currently 0/7 (missed the Ilum daily 4 times last week thanks to it being broken on Jung Ma) and a guildmate is 2/23. That means that between the two of us we are 2/30. And then there are some people that will have 15-20 commendations by the time they open 30 bags. Did they "earn" them any more than us? No, they did the exact same thing but were luckier. Even at a consistent 4 BM commendations per week it would take months to have full BM gear. So you cannot say that I am asking for "free purples". I just want to feel like I am progressing. It reminds me of max level dungeons in Warhammer Online. I went to the T2 dungeon 33 times. I had 3 drops to show for it, 1 of which was the belt that I bought on the AH. Because I only had 2 "wards" I could not progress with my guild to the next dungeon until Mythic changed some things. Funny how Mythic has had their hands on 2 games that have been so frustrating. Despite the fact there are many things that I enjoy about this game, this is something that is frustrating and is a huge turn off. So I can see how people get so frustrated by aspects of this game. Many are posting because they actually care about the game and do not want to quit but are considering it out of frustration. Some are trolls just causing trouble, but I bet plenty are hoping that the handful of things that make them want to quit get fixed because they enjoy everything else.
  4. Bethesda had hired a ton of voice actors so that they did not need any repeat voices, but most of them took arrows to the knee. :/ Bioware is not the only game to recycle voices. They had a lot more variety than most games.
  5. It's already in the game. As soon as you are a Battlemaster, you get 2 lottery tickets per day and have a 25% chance to win!
  6. Before the nerf my surge brought me to 91% and it is 72% now. Before the nerf a 450 power adrenal gave me larger crits than a 450 surge adrenal. Now my surge adrenal brings me to 77%... completely worthless. And power helps for the 65-70% (depending if I get a smuggler buff) of the time that I do not crit. I understand wanting to limit the burst of some classes. But they made the stat whose entire job is to improve crits actually improve crits worse than the standard damage stat. In other words, they made it COMPLETELY worthless. Willpower and power both add more damage and have more burst. Now I am glad that sage BM gear has almost no surge on it. Of course first I'd have to actually get some gear since after a weak of being BM I have gotten 0 BM commendations.
  7. 0/7 and counting. Was only able to do my Ilum daily twice last week because Ilum was broken on Jung Ma. Thankfully I had a box saved. So between the broken daily and bad luck, I have nothing to show for a week of being BM except champ commendations... I guess I could start buying champ gear to get swap mods.
  8. Another sorc... makes me want to play a Sentinel for more free kills.
  9. No thank you. I already kill new 50s easily enough in full champ (bm ear/implants). If anything I wish it was easier to customize our mods in BM gear. Gotta love all the alacrity on the sage set which really is only useful for a couple of spells and generally just leads to us running out of force more quickly.

    Valor 70+ gear

Especially after plenty of Imps went from R50 to R60 in one day when 1.1 was released.

    BM Bag Luck

0 for 5 so far. Real problem was missing out on 4 bags this week due to Ilum being broken on Jung Ma. The upgrade from champ may be a small one but this luck based reward will still annoy players. Just let everyone earn gear at the same rate already. Whether that means allowing commendation upgrades (say 3 cent for 1 champ and 60 champ for 1 bm) or just giving 1 bm per bm bag and quadrupling the price. Either would remove the RNG and both would be fair (trade ins would give an average of 4.8 bm per week from the quests. We currently "average" 4 per week. And 1 commendation per bag but 4 times the price would be the same average as now but without the luck element).
  12. Bump because this has managed to go on for nearly a week with no fix and little, if any attention.
  13. I'm not sure if people have given up on this issue or if it is server specific because I have not seen any posts on this. Since the latest patch which supposedly fixed the problem, Ilum has worked for 1 afternoon on our server. Kills are not counting, most objectives cannot be taken, and some armament chests do not give credit. I've been able to complete my daily once this week and still have not finished my weekly despite playing this game far too much. Now that I am Battlemaster the only 2 bags I care about every day are BM bags and half of them are impossible. When will this be REALLY fixed instead of mentioned in the patch notes but not actually fixed (like WZ not counting)? Especially since it is getting close to being time to decide whether or not to give Bioware one more month.
  14. I agree with our high utility but laugh at this. TK Throw usually hits in the range of 350-450 per tic. Against ungeared people if I use an adrenal and relic I MAY get crits of 900-1100. It basically hits as hard in 3s as Tracer Missle hits in 1.5s. The real advantage is that it procs PoM which allows you to instantly cast some other abilities. But the channeled ability itself is low damage for a dps class. And since it is channeled it is not like we can cast that while spamming other abilities. In fact the delve for my level 50, fully geared (champ/bm gear), battlemaster sage who is balance spec's TK throw delves for only couple hundred damage (over the entire duration) higher than my level 25 commando's grav round when he is bolstered to level 49. Again, I agree that the real power of the class is in our utility and our ability to heal as a dps spec or dps as a heal spec. But "mega dmg"? Really? If you want mega damage, play a commando. If you want to destroy sage/sorc then play a marauder/sentinel.
  15. I did not read the entire OP, sorry. But from what I skimmed it looked like he was saying that range has an advantage because root ignores resolve while other forms of CC do not. And ranged classes can still perform their jobs at range. If that is the case, I agree as a sage. I am surprised that root is not part of the resolve system and am also surprised that certain snare effects can stack to create a 100% snare. I think it would be at least fair to make it so that someone on a full resolve bar would be immune to root and make it so snare effects cannot stack. Even if roots and snares did not give resolve points, at least melees would have a time when they are immune. The entire resolve system needs work but I agree that in this case, melee got the short end of the stick.
  16. Fixed. 1 medal is 50 valor and 5 commendations. 1 vote is 10 valor and 1 commendation.
  17. Ilum has failed to give players valor or kill credit for 3 out of 4 days. That seems pretty big to me. Makes it impossible for us to do our dailies, advance our rank, and frustrates the PvP player base. How would raiders feel if bosses dropped nothing for 3 out of their last 4 raids? These are not small bugs. WZ credit has been "fixed" twice but still is broken. There are still numerous animation and balance issues that make one class better than its mirror. The game (or the graphics engine) runs terribly in large battles. Ilum instances are capped at 100 people are not limited to 50 per side. This can leave one side with 25-30 people while the other is at 70-75 and nobody can come help balance the population. Also, the side with a larger population will get more valor per kill due to controlling the zone and will be able to farm armaments while the underplayed side is unable to work on their daily. These are rather large gameplay issues and bugs. And they are only a handful of the ones out there. I USUALLY enjoy the game and want to want to keep playing. But the bugs and the bad "endgame" (hi2u, RNG PvP loot) make it difficult. I've gone from being a Bioware fanboi to a Bioware Edmonton fanboi (and even DA2 kind of hurt that a little for me).
  18. Good thing they are fixing WZ credit again. Sorry BW but I'll believe it when I see it.
  19. Do you mean Project? Because that does have a CD. If you mean TK Throw then that is a channeled ability that hits 3 times over 2 and a half seconds for about the same damage as 1 Tracer/Grav Round which has a cast time of 1.5 seconds.
  20. If I could vote for enemy marauders, they'd get my vote. Because they sure make my life a living hell in WZs.
  21. Some people enjoy fighting others on equal footing. I don't like winning fights because I am better geared than my opponent. And it is still not quite free purples. Unless your side has a huge population advantage, it takes time to get to BM. Imps that are always getting 200 valor per kill in Ilum may not have a problem. But getting 20-80 valor per kill and constantly being zerged has made those last few levels hard for me. On top of that, it still does take time to get champ commendations. Maybe the suggested trade in would be 60 champ to 1 bm (aka, 4 bm bags worth of champ commendations). It takes time. It just evens out some of the RNG so that you eventually earn upgrades rather than rely on playing the 1 in 4 lottery every day.
  22. A healer with plenty of expertise doing their job 100% of the time can get 4 medals (75k, 300k, 2.5k crit, 5k crit). A dps doing their job 100% of the time can get 7 medals: (2.5k crit, 75k, 300k, killing blow, 10 kills, 25 kills, 35 kills) A tank can get 9 medals: 3 protection medals, 2.5 crit, 75k, killing blow, 3 for kills A hybrid with enough expertise and is a biochem (aka adrenals) can get lots of medals too: 2.5k crit, 75k damage, killing blow, 10 kills, 25 kills, 35 kills, 2.5k heal, 5k heal, 75k healing I did not count defender points since anyone can do them and solo kills depends on your play style. A healer can get a solo kill but probably is the least likely since they are needed near everyone else. Do you really think that everyone earns medals at a fair rate? Or do you now realize that healers have a hard time in WZ unless they want to game the system and do some damage? I want to try healing but also want to hit BM. I will respec soon as I do (hard to do since they screwed up Ilum). Until then, I'll keep getting 7-10 medals per game rather than struggling to get more than 4 or 5.
  23. I have Force in Balance with 30% increased crit damage and have FULL champ gear with 643 expertise. If I use: Willpower stim Surge adrenal Power or Crit/surge relic The expertise buff in WZ Force potency to make sure I crit My HIGHEST crit I've ever had in a WZ is 3800. Against most geared players it is about 2500-2800. Adrenal, potency, and relic are either 2 or 3 minute cooldowns. And bubble with talent points is about 3200. Crazy for an "instant" heal but it is not over 5k. I can get a 5k heal. But it takes over 2s to cast and requires all of the things that my large FiB crits takes to do. Not just spamming bubble on people. I have received heals of over 6k before but not from sages. Benevolence usually crits for closer to 4200-4500. Again, I have 643 expertise. Sage/sorc have lots of utility and are good at being hybrids (aka, can heal fairly well as dps or put out some damage as heal spec). We are mobile (instant cast DoTs, force sprint, CC to get out of trouble). These things allow us to put out good numbers in WZ. The thing is premade vs premade, a group running sorc dps will nearly always struggle against a group using marauder/merc dps. Geared marauders with healers in WZ will make sure that I spend the entire WZ running or dead. Geared sorcs will just be about who is better: them or me. Everyone is playing sorcs (because nobody seems to want to play marauder/sent right now thankfully) so I do well. I think our utility means that a DPS sorc/sage can have a place in a 4 man but we will do best as a healer. A merc/marauder combo will do far better as a damage team. Then you either throw in a tank for guard (marauder with heals and receiving a guard will ruin my day) or a dps sorc/sage seems like a great 4 man. 4 sorcs/sages with a mixture of specs rolls over to that composition. My guild seems to be very sage heavy (I always play a caster of some sort though I do prefer more of the annoying style caster like DAoC shaman or GW Mesmer) so we've bumped into this situation more than once. Since we are geared, organized, and generally do fairly well in PvP games we are fine against other sorcs/sages. I don't think sorc/sage are weak. I think they are great hybrids and have enough utility to offer a place in high level 4 man groups. I realize we are insane solo but I honestly don't care about 1v1 in any game. If you want to find a way to nerf me 1v1 without making me worthless 4v4 or 8v8, fine. But I laugh at these claims of OP. It makes me wish I liked melee classes because I'd love to destroy the masses that chose to play a caster. I have encouraged people that chose shadows to try sent but it seems my guild only has 1 and only will have 1.
  24. An issue that should not have made it out of testing. We need the ability to properly test patches... more than a couple days to do it, ability to have level 50s on test server, and some incentive to get enough people on the server for a legit test (maybe complete certain tasks and be entered into a drawing for some free swag like Star Wars stuff, game time, etc). If 50 people played on Ilum for 30 minutes on the test server, they would've been able to tell Bioware that something was wrong. So either they need a huge QA team or they need to allow (and encourage) us to help with the QA process.
