    LOL. This is the most ignorant thing I ever heard in history. Up and downs are never consequential with each other in the stock market. If they were, everyone would be rich. Try to learn some realism. It might help you in your future endeavors. Oh, and random blog without a shred of evidence is inconsequential. Fail thread is fail. SWTOR will thrive.

    No, they're not. They turned around quite radically in the last few years. If you want to look for "everything that is wrong with gaming" Activision is where you have to aim.

    No. LucasArts didn't loan money to EA. It's an investment. EA has to pay back nothing. Lucas simply takes a slice of the profit, like any investor does.

    because Activision doesn't do that... On top of doing nothing else than regurgitating the same tired IPs over and over and over. Oh wait.

    Actually they cleaned up their act considerably in the last few years, pushed new IPs and all that. They're a LOT better than activision. People that hate EA are simply stuck in the past (or hate this game, and therefore hate EA).

    Considering that EA is the only company that really stands up to the great evil of game publishing (Activision), there's nothing wrong in celebrating that EA is doing well.

    Yep. They reversed the trend that doomed every other MMORPG since wow. People that blabber about "wait months from now!" forget that every single MMORPG released since wow bled a TON more than a meager 15% after the first month. That, in this economy, is by itself a massively positive feat.

    Without EA Activision would probably have a near-monopoly, and the world would be a MUCH worse place.

    So, SWTOR has 1.7 million subscribers and growing, and EA's stock raise 6%. Not too shabby. Not too shabby. Wonder where the analysts that were throwing mud on the game are now. Probably responding to angry calls. Guess old dear Pachter was right for once

    Considering all the social network numbers of GW2 compared to those of SWTOR (which is really all we have) GW2's hype is quite low in comparison. The hardcore MMO players and PVPers (which are pretty much the only ones hyped for GW2) are nothing compared to the mainstream.

    Those people will always be counted. As long as people continue purchasing a game, there will always be people in their first 30 days. It's inconsequential. While some of those will go, others will come.
