  1. 3 months after release:

    - horrible targeting (both keyboard and mouse)

    - pvp network code is totally unreliable (server-client situations missmatch showing false situations on client side resulting in for example pushing enemy "back" in totally different direction that supposed to)

    - poorly designed abilities - kind of an overload of unnecesary skills at least for some classes that should be consolidated

    - no macros support to make gameplay more comfortable

    - huttball as a "warzone"

    - warzones where player lvl 17 can fight player lvl 49...

    - horrible camera with awkward smoothing and random spins

    - horrible engine performance on high end specs...

    - bugged sound

    - harsh interface

i could go on, but this pretty much sums up and can already create image of a harsh beta-mmorpg experience.

No matter how much content you put up on a harsh gameplay it will remain harsh gameplay. Even if this content have actors sounds recorded it still remains harsh gameplay.

I bought new PC just for swtor and you dissapointed me big time. At least i can enjoy bf3 now till diablo 3 comes out. You killed a little sad panda inside me. A mmorpg fan dies within every time company like you releases mmorpg that cant even have engine right.

  2. I also think beta ends with 1.2 and we get the game they wanted to release but didn't have time to do.

Not really. I believe 1.2 is just a marketing hype. It will be s*&tload of irrelevant and unimportant patchnotes and the bugged things will remain in game (horrible tagreting, bugged, stupidily smoothed camera, the server-client situatin missmatch etc). The only reason im yet thinking if i should buy just 1 more subscription or not is my friend (with who i usually play online games with teamspeak) is still not as much pissed off with the quality of swtor as i am and he didnt bought BF3 yet so we dont have alternative to play together - or maybe he isnt so pissed off cause he wants to hold on to swtor as the only multiplayer game he have atm.

This will soon change tho and after this month if i would even buy subscription we both gets diablo 3 so common alternative will be there.

Question im asking myself atm is: should i take 1 additional month of swtor expensive sub as a gap filler to play with friend before diablo 3 arrives or not? Product alone is definitely not worth giving so much money just to wait for fixes and be the naive lemming as i feel when i pay EA, but playing with friends is fun even if game is pretty bad.

Maybe i will make my mind and give you last chance Bioware. You have time till diablo arrives. Make it count, cause i wont be persuaded by marketing list of unimportant patchnotes. If horrible targeting stays when this whole overhyped holy grall (1.2) comes then you wont see me again and thats for sure.

  3. As with all thread here, it is obvious you don't want dissenting opinions. Forums used to be about that sort of thing, you know.

So when there is a discussion with topic about car accident and road safety, you praise people's stories of how OK it is for them that car accidents happens and they are not bothered? What does it bring to discussion? Absolutely nothing but an information that mr.x is content with situation. Its not a freaking poll, its discussion.

  4. Did it really? Or is that just something that's been habitually programmed into your subconscious?

Getting used to the 'rules' of tab targeting for one game over another can take a while. Especially if you've been playing WoW for years.

I'm not gonna lie and say that Tab Targeting works flawlessly for me. But the issue barely crops up for me. Maybe once a day in a 3-4 hour play session. It's nothing horrendous. And usually if I see this happening, I will deselect my targets and start tab targeting over again and it's typically the first thing I tab target to. . .if not the second.

Many of you have been playing Bioware games for years, from KoToR, to Mass Effect, and even Dragon Age. This never was an issue for me before. It was only until I got so used to the tab targeting in my old MMO(DDO), that I started seeing this issue in this one.

And again, I'm not saying there isn't any room for improvements, but it's certainly not making me click on character models instead of using Tab to target.

Story of your tolerance is really charming. Still: game mechanic is flawed as hell and unacceptable for PvP.

  5. I have to agree, they are fixing this mess waaaaaaaaaaaay too slow.

They are celebrating cause its another warhammer online. Cheap game sold for giant money and meinteined by like 1-2 working people. Next title will be also cheap, horrible game but with tv recorded cutscenes with real life actors. And they will fool people again! :)

You fooled me once Bioware, shame on you. Then you fooled me 2nd time, shame on me. - I will not be fooled third time.

  6. I doubt it. It wont survive as "big mmorpg" at least. It will share fate of warhammer online. My sub ends today, and im not paying for more waiting. And im not going back untill they fix the targeting system. They had a lot fo time since they have seen that code in warhammer online (its exact same flawed targeting system as in that game) and there is a good chance they will never fix that as they never fixed it in WAR.

Im fed up with paying for hopes and waiting. I will pay when i see quality product. So far its full of slips and fails. I have already paid big money for upgrading my PC so this mediocre-looking game will play on reasonable FPS and im not satisfied.

I was about to write about diablo 3 coming up, but since you already wrote that in OP then no need :)

  7. Today my 2nd subscription expires, and i dont really think the waiting time for the fixes is worth the money... So i will just wait outside of your paying customers group Bioware. Fix the targeting and you may see me (and other players who knows and praise quality) again. Crude, broken targeting system is unaceptable for PvP gameplay, hence your game have really no value for me at current state after dinging 50.

    Keep me posted.

    Regards.

  8. Point is: What can be more frustrating over game full of bugs, glitches and broken mechanics acompanied with bad luck in team assembling (which results in loosing) and the stupid comments of the commentator...

You struggle to target someone due to broken targeting mechanics of this flawed game, fail to succesfully get lucky and target desired target in time and hear the idiotic Bioware's recorded full of joy commentator mocking whats happening...

You run with objective, suddenly camera spins around by itself with no apparent reason, you fall down and you are simply f#^%$d by game mechanics and all of that acompanied with full of joy Bioware's recorded commentator...

I mean seriously? Throwing paying customers into beta-quality game with stupid american football "warzone" as a poor excuse of a battleground, and having stupid commentator to frustrate them even more?

  9. It would be fun if you could use drop pod from your ship and it would drop you at your party member positions in the world. Drop pod landing animation could be similiar to warhammer 40k ones... daaaamn that would be cool :) Drop pod comes from the sky, hits the ground heavily, shakes the camera, release huge cloud of smoke and your party member goes out of it with acompaniament of:
  10. So i today i have had first glimpse on my pvp gear im gathering currency for, and i found out that vindicator have stats for dps jaggernaut and war leader have for immortal jaggernaut. All nice and cool, but why dps set have 1st set bonus that could help immortal much more? It have set bonus "heal you for 8% while using intercede"... not much of a dps set bonus...
  11. Although, something I have never seen a straight up answer for aside from a handicapping reason, why do some feel they need to use macros anyway? Going on what you are saying, there is zero advantage yet you are lobbying for them.

You must have skipped the part:

If there is no reason to have some abilities divided people gonna use macros anyway... the only difference is if they gonna use in-game or mouse/keyboard macros.

If you have 2 defensive cooldowns with no global cooldown why having them at different hotkeys if you are using both of them whenever there is need to survive? This is just an example. There is much more of unnecesarily divided abilities/functions.

Smart developer wouldnt divide abilities like that... Smart developer allow players build their characters, choose chance on procs and other abilities like that pre-battle (while choosing talents specs, gear etc) so they dont even have to do macros for the tedious icon's tetris play and can focus on thiking about strategy, objectives, and general battle awaraness, but there is other talking about that so i wont duplicate it for no reason.

    --------

i say again: There is nothing for really skilled players to worry about others using macros... the mroe macros you use the easier you are to defeat for a really skilledp layer. The fact is that majority of people defending the "no in-game macros" policy are the users of unfair adventage (gaming keyboard/mouse macros)

  12. macro are software not hardware... what u said have NO SENSE at all, it just show how little u undesrtand about computer and as consequence that you should avoid preaching out about that sobject.

it's not the keyboard mouse that make it possible to do macro "outside" the game but the driver of that mouse and keyboard that include A PROGRAM that make macro

program that make macro are FREE (most of them) and can be installed on any computer with or without the keyboard and mouse you are talking about

you understand why you make no sense now? or should i break it down even more>

First maybe say who you are correcting cause noone said anything about hardware macros, even tho it would still be correct, cause gaming "hardware" - a peripherals comes with dedicated software that allows easily access to macros even for casuall players.

I guess when someone says "this house gonna kill me" complaining about high rent you are correcting him, that house cant kill anything and it might just be a heart attack? :D

  13. By having no basic macros in game (im not talking about bot, sequence macros with delays which can be easily spotted and banned - and they SHOULD be banned, im talking about simple multiple function keys) you are giving owners of gaming keyboards and gaming mouses unfair adventage. You can do macros on those products very easily. Example of gaming mouse/keyboard macro:

    start

    1. hotkey A

    2. hotkey B

    stop

this wil use ability A if able and if not then ability B.

Now why would you want to give this adventage only to gaming peripherals?

Say yes to official in-game legit macros

or say no and give room for unfair adventage of mouse/keyboard macros.

So atm official statement of Bioware about macros is totall prohibition? Do i have to remind you how all prohibitions work? - they only allow unofficial organisations/individuals gain hell of a profit.

If there is no reason to have some abilities divided people gonna use macros anyway... the only difference is if they gonna use in-game or mouse/keyboard macros.

  14. I have made a video about exactly this, watch it here

Nothing to add really, it has been around forever and probably is one of the harder things to fix....

Yeah thats the issue... IF they are nto goign to fix that, this game pvp will remain a joke for naive.

  15. I have absolutely no respect for a post like this.

Go back to wow and play that.

Giving players a variety of skills and lots of different talent to use in any given situation makes for more interesting and challenging gameplay while also making it clear who is actually a real good player and who's not. So in other words if you think you have too many buttons to handle then play a different game...

And you feel an irresistible urge of posting what have been said already? You think that becouse you sign it with your nickname same argument changes its value?

  16. ill be glad when the day comes as clicking keys isn't hard, it just needs practice.

the less monkeys we have playing, the better.

    let me change that

the less monkeys we have pvpin, the better, i really dont care about PVE, you can have all the PVE macro's you like, just not for pvp, that would make no sense at all.

What makes no sense at all is that a "skilled player with no problem with his hotkeys whatsoever" is affraid of macro user who dont have so much controll over his actions as the one who dont use single macro... You either deceive yourself that you have no prbolems with hotkeys, you lie to us or you have irrational fears of macros, am i wrong? ;)

  17. It's actually really easy to time. Just turn on target closest enemy in options and then spam your ranged stun. It will kill them the second they land 90% of the time.

What are you talking about? Could we please come back on topic?

  18. not true :|, this just shows me you really dont know what you are talking about

maybe the fact i've been using keyboards since the 80's i dont have a problem with multitasking my keys, oh and i play guitar....does that mean i have an advantage!?

    cheers tho.

Yes, that certainly gives you adventage over me in terms of fingers agility. But mmo cannot cater only to people skilled in fingers struggle - it woudl have quite small playerbase in the end, when players who dont like so much fingers struggle will abandon it.

  19. i wasn't getting at you, more the person you quoted.

i play healer as one of my classes, i did in swg, rift and lotro (i was not a fan of WoW, i also ended up hating rift due to the fact you could be practically unstoppable with 3-5 hotkeys, that did everything :| ) we are lying to ourselves that we are intelligent, when we get a piece of software to automate keyclicks for us.

you dont need macro's, any kind of macro, you've lived that long with them, in other games, you feel like you do, but you dont.

Here is the reason why you are not bothered with piano playing... Your main abilities are all casted abilities - means you dont have to WASD while shift+hotkey pressing...

Try playing melee class with hotkeys overdose while you have to stay at your moving targets while piano playing. It is doable, but its uncomfortable as hell - and game are not ment to have uncomfortable controlls you know...
