  1. Actually that reminds me..two actors, I forget who...one of them was playing the bad guy, with a British accent. He was an American actor. Another, a good guy, with an American accent...Britsih actor. O.o
  2. The Exile was a pretty interesting character. It CAN be done. I'm not saying that the "create a character" aspect shouldn't be respected. My characters, like yours, have a backstory. Its important. I'm just saying that BioWare tries hard, but I think they're overrated. But what they are is a symptom of good things, an improvement in storytelling. They are on the positive end of the spectrum.
  3. Any alien force user would have sway, but not as much as a human force user with just as much power. Moreso in the military is this evident.
  4. Got it every 5 seconds when I went to Drommund Kaas as an IA as a Chiss in the beta. "Bloodly aliens..oh uh hello." "Listen you stinkin' alien" "Don't worry I'm an alien too. Lets be friends." "Aliens just don't think the same, you know? Rather slow" That sorta stuff. But, I'll admit I didn't get that far during the beta, and it was better done than that =P
  5. That's really not it at all. The game goes into great detail. On Korriban, there's a quest to check the purity of the Overseers. The dialouge changes if you play an alien, and the game makes it clear that they hate you soley because your an alien. You are ineferior BECAUSE you are alien. The game makes it clear Pureblood Sith<Human<Alien. Even if your the same rank as someone else, your lower if your an alien. Also, the "Pass on the Sith-human hybrid" is inherently speciest.
  6. I think Video Game story telling is on the rise, and TOR may not be the best example of great story telling, but is certainally a symptom of it. This game focuses incredibly around a story, especially for a MMO, where you used to get more story from a FPS that focused around multiplayer and decided to put a quick campaign together. I'm not sure where exactly people got this idea that BioWare was incredible at stories, I've felt that they make a good effort, but...the best in the biz is most certainally Rockstar. Look at Red Dead Redemption, LA Noire.... I once read a review of Red Dead Redemption that made me feel like I was back in English class. So, there is definitely a rise of storytelling in video games, and while it may not be great right now, focusing on it will help improve it. And this game sorta shows that, I suppose.
  7. Speciest, I suppose. But xenophobic may also be preferable. But they're not talking about the accents. It's not a "Twi'liks are nice and all, but I'd never date them" preference. Its "Here, lick my boot. Why? Because you're an alien." Racist may an inappropiate word, but its not far off.
  8. To be fair, the smuggler story already spoils it before you. "Lets update the Codex with spoilers right before the big reveal!" "Yea, good idea!"
  9. Except I'm pretty sure humans come from Correllia or Coruscant.
  10. There is the occasional ambush, but really this is no single player game. You can only expect so much sometimes. I know I'll play my three months (bought a card instead of using a credit card) and probably just be done there...this game would have to be the best game ever to really be worth it.
  11. There's a couple classes where for some reason it just decides "F*** Tatooine" and shows the Alderaan ones instead.
  12. I pretty sure there were several British Accents during the movies, at least the OT. Because, you know, British People are evil.
  13. "Beverly Thorne" is a mispelling of "Beryl Thorne" FYI, unless she has a sister that shows up in the last 10 levels...
  14. In Order of Evilness* German>Russian>British. Thus, British is pretty damn high on the evil scale. From this we can see why they rule an Evil Empire in the Star Wars Universe. *In Films. I am not saying anyone is more evil than the British in real life
  15. Trying to keep the plot as similiar as possible. Episode 1 Let's start with Anakin being a bit older, eh? He's now 14. He's a crack podracer mechanic, but he always knew he was meant for more. He hasn't given hope entirely, but he knows racing will only ever get him to the next meal. He races not because he enjoys it, but because he's good at it. When the Jedi arrive, they realize why he's good-for the same reason in the films..he's force sensitive. Gambling on his freedom, they get him out. This Anakin should remind us of those "bad boy" types from the 70s. He's a bit a tough, but he's got a heart of gold. Maybe not as much emphasis on the "bad", maybe more of a casual joker. However, this film should focus on Anakin learning on what it means to be a Jedi. And you know what? He's damn good at it. He's a bit quirky for a Jedi, but the Jedi community accepts him full heartedly. The conflict with Naboo should be over by halfway through the film. Maul should be thrown out, and Dooku should strike down his former apprentice, saying something along the lines that "he failed him", or whatever, after refusing the darkside. Slayed in front of both Obiwan (who is in his mid 20s- a solid 10 years older than Anakin), and Anakin (who by this point is Jinn's apprentice-the films should make a loose reminder that Obi is his FORMER apprentice, but not that he was ever over the course of the current film the current apprentice. This is the films climax. Up to this point you should see Jinn, Obi, and Anakin as something almost of a family. Now, without the "father" Obi takes his "younger brother" under his arm, to finish his apprenticeship. Key Points in this Film *The Relationship between Padme and Anakin-should be relatively flirty to begin with, but grow into a fulling friendship as Anakin steps back from attachment and to being a Jedi. *The Family Relationship between Anakin, Jinn, and Obi. This is extremely important, as Jinn dies during the climax. *Dooku as a antagonist, and his "mysterious" relationship with Jinn. He should be present, and quite a speker. Episode 2 The film should begin with Anakin becoming a full fledged Jedi Knight, or rather litterally just afterwards. Congratulated by Obi, friend, brother, and mentor, the pair cannot see anything going wrong in their lives. They, like anyone else, are aware of tensions in the senate but do not actually forsee war. For the first half an hour of the film this is so. However, after Dooku personally slays an important Senator, a "close friend" of Palpatine, war breaks out between the two sides when Palps accuses the seperatist of assassination. Anakin should try to console Palpatine, and a genuine friendship should start to foster. Then quickly, is should be a full out war. This Anakin should be about finding his flow within a changing galaxy, as he struggles to deal with the lives of real men-genuine connections to the clones should be formed, and Cody and Obi should have a close friendship. The film closes with the realization that Dooku has a "superweapon" that will "destroy" the Republic from the inside. Key Points in this Film: *You didn't think Padme would dissapear, would you? Anakin and Padme's relationship should be just like one of those annoying "Y U NO GET TOGETHER" relationships *Anakin steps up into becoming a War Hero *Anakin and Obi should have a bit of friendly rivalry *Anakin and Palps should be friends by the end of the film, possibly Palps saving Anakin's life Episode 3 Starting in the midst of war, Anakin should be shown to be a true War hero. However, by the end it is clearly having a toll. His relationship with Padme has expanded, and they are together, in everything but name. However, it is ANAKIN who is most unwilling to share it with the world, afraid he has shamed the council. He won't admit it, but there's signs their relationship is failing anyway. Dooku should die, but not because Anakin kills him, but because Dooku refuses Anakin's help-he would rather die. However, despite the feelings that things should get better, they simply get worse. When Order 66 activates, Anakin has to kill Cody to save Obi Wan. Obi ridicules Anakin for this, who flees because he doesn't understand his brothers close relationship, he even begins to attempt to dehumanize Cody saying "He's just a clone". He flees to his friend Palps, who then reveals he a sith. However, he insists its the Jedi who are fault, and actually says they know and have known, and even has a staged assassination on him by the troops. Anakin is unaware of Order 66's full effect, and believes the council turn on him and Obi. At this point he flees, unable to accept either sith or Jedi. He finds himself back at Padme's house-and Obi is there waiting for him. Reaching the wrong conclusion he feels betrayed by everyone but Palps- using the force he disrups the buildings foundation without ever having a conversation-he then returns to Palps, who he obeys-not as a sith-not as a Jedi-but as a friend. The film would end with a similiar approach on Mustafar to tie up loose ends and to follow the same general plot, but with less ****** dialouge. Padme will die during childbirth-and that's it, no corny line afterwards. Palps informs Anakin the Padme has died-at Obi's hand. The film ends. Key Points: *Obi-Cody relationship *Anakin as a War Hero-brave, slightly arrogantly, but loves his troops like brothers *Anakin and Padme's relationship SLOWLY falling apart. This SHOULD NOT be done like National Treasure 2, where they start off with "BTW, They hate eachother now" *The effect of War on Anakin That's just off the top of my head, in short though the films should really focus more on the characters. Cody should play a bigger role, and there's should possibly be another character on board who could act like a foil to Cody-a smuggler perhaps? Anyway, there's probably large room for improvements there, but I tried to contain myself within the Star Wars Universe and the original plot.
  16. So I checked the name, Nariel Pridence is the name of the Jedi on Tatooine. If you went darkside, I suppose you could get the sith Vaverone Zare instead, which it'd be interesting to choose between companions.
  17. It happens in other classes. My smuggler has failed to know things he should. Essentially, don't trust the question mark. It means "I lack knowledge on whatever precedes this", not "why did you say that?"
  18. If your thinking of the quest I'm thinking of, everyone thinks they're dead anyway so they wouldn't have that fate lightside. Meanwhile darkside they'd probably die =\ But yea, its really clear that they have some "class set" answers, and with the Sith they're all very dark. I find the smuggler's are neutral ("You're about to see a real live hero in action"), arrogant, but neutral enough. You're never going to get exactly what you want with these dialouge options, especially since your given three of them (at the most-often you're forced to choose between light and dark and not given a third)
  19. The female Jedi from Tatooine for Smugglers, I also feel like they need a new male companion. I can't think of any stand outs off the top of my head though.
  20. Smugglers have something better than the force: luck.
  21. SI=becomes second to One in Empire, major power player SW=becomes someones *****, no real power SW=More Powerful at the end??? Now, I haven't played through either story all the way through, but I do remember during the beta SW was too dull to get past Korriban. SI has been interesting in comparison. I personally don't like these "do something incredible/become god" type of arguements...I feel like that's what spawns Revan fanboys.... But to each their own. Who knows, maybe SI goes downhill and SW goes uphill. I didn't read the spoiler tag, for obvious reasons.
  22. I've heard it was uncommon for Jedi to do so, but never have I heard "frowned upon" or "forbidden".
  23. Atton Rand was a Jedi Killer and for our purposed, a smuggler, turns out he was force sensitive, but there were plenty train like him to do it. Which leads to me to our conclusion, there is nothing *special* about a smuggler or trooper or some random non force user. They all start in the same boat, so an exceptional non force user could in fact take down a non force user. They would simply have to be smart about it. Hell in this game, smugglers at least and I would assume plenty of other non-force users take down plenty of force users. Thus, it is completely plausible. They're not mediocre force users either.
