  1. There's the overly optimistic possibility that an expansion could introduce whole new companions who are meant to be good fits for SGR. And why hasn't anyone mentioned Bowdar as an option? That's folicle-ism!
  2. The idea that EA is not primarily interested in the good of its consumers isn't exactly a blinding revelation. We've known that since at least the exclusive Madden rights to the NFL. All I'm interested in is whether it benefits ME. If it does I don't really care about the provider's intentions. House can diagnose me any time.
  3. This is based on the assumption that EA prefers subscribers. Does it? The beauty of microtransactions is that you spend it in little bits and don't realize how much you're putting in. It's how Team Fortress 2 went from being a game bringing in virtually no revenue to bringing in tons. I could be wrong. I see the value in a reliable revenue stream. I'm just curious as to which one pays out more overall.
  4. Enough. Really. Move along. I regret even saying something. I was trying to appeal to common sense. I forgot the Internet killed it.
  5. First of all, OP, please use periods. They really help prevent headaches in reading your post. This is the quintessential problem of freeform roleplay: The "I got you!" "No, you didn't!" dilemma. In other forms of roleplay we settle this with dice or a game master. In freeform it can only be settled by the consent of all involved. As a general rule RP communities combat this with the basic rule: "Control no one else's actions or status without their consent, and accept everything a player states about their character." It has a companion rule which is often unspoken: "Don't make your character into anything hard to swallow by the average gamer." This includes making yourself The Emperor's Right Elbow and ordering people around or it can include doing a Star Wars / My Little Pony crossover and expecting everyone to play along. I'm pretty sure claiming a whole planet as yours violates both of these rules in both letter and spirit. You can't claim a public space as yours and expect everyone to accept that just as you can't rope of a section of the public park and start living there. Trying to do so isn't RP. It's bullying, and it's not okay. TL;DR: Anyone trying to block something you're trying to accomplish in game is griefing, whether they justify it with RP or not. Report them.
  6. I created a fictional family line that was exiled en toto, thus justifying why a Chiss would be running around in the known galaxy, especially as something like a Sith or bounty hunter. So the names are: Tul'keel'sabosen - "Agent Mullinine" Tul'kur'sabosen - "Cobalt" Tul'lux'sabosen - Darth Barrenus
  7. Thank you for asking. My point was simply that there is clearly implied sexual content in the game. It is implied through multiple ways, and therefore "sex isn't in the game" is either false or mere technicality, depending on what your definition of "is" is. I think we're all on the same page at this point, which is explicit scenes of sex are different from implied sex which is different from no inclusion of sex at all. Anyone who is still trying to argue otherwise is either arguing for the sake of arguing or a goldfish, or both.
  8. Are you people TRYING to give me a concussion from head-desking? What did I ever do to you? It's a derailing at this point. We haven't brought up same sex relationships for several pages. EDIT: Oh, the guy above me did. Cool.
  9. Anger and passion are not the same thing. If I appear upset, I am merely intense and perhaps a bit frustrated that once again I can't get the Internet to concede to the most basic and obvious points. (emphasis mine) If you agree that sex is implied in SW:TOR, then who cares if it is "part of the game"?! The whole point is that "sexual themes" exist. It's right there on the box. In 9th grade English they teach this thing called inference. Check it out. Plus, IT'S RIGHT THERE ON THE BOX. If I can't get you to acknowledge what is dangling in front of your face, we are literally unable to have an accurate communication. Enjoy your baseless belief.
  10. Are we really going to keep going with this? Alright, fine then. YES IT DOES. The author's intent is blatantly clear. The fact that YOU choose to interpret differently than how it was intended is your prerogative, but it DOESN'T change the author's intent and therefore the inherent meaning of the content. You can choose to say "The cooks in the restaurant aren't grilling my food. I imagine they're just sprinkling magic cooking dust on it." That does absolutely nothing to change the fact that the cooks ARE in fact grilling the food.
  11. Okay... clearly there's just a mental block on this point, so I'll let it go. This is true.
  12. No, it's not the same thing, but THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU'RE ARGUING! You're arguing that if the sex isn't explicitly shown, then it doesn't exist at all. The logical fallacy in this point is so huge I drove a Mack truck through it, backed it back into it, then got a cement truck and pulled that alongside the Mack truck with a good six feet between them. Keep in mind I'm not even taking a side on the thread topic yet. I'm saying that explicit sex is one thing (And yes, you're right that this is a non issue because it is not, in fact, in the game) but that overtly implying that two characters have a sexual relationship DOES happen and IS relevant to this discussion. If those fade to black scenes didn't happen I might agree with you, but they DO happen and therefore are IN THE GAME.
  13. Okay, since this is clearly a semantic argument and we're both saying the same things with different words, let me rephrase my response. Player characters in the game of SWTOR have sex. That sex is not shown, but it is in the game that some characters, at some points, are having sex. The implication is so strong that it is clear that they are not having a picnic. They are having sex. Star Wars: The Old Republic characters are sexual beings that sometimes have sex. Whether or not said sex - that the characters at some point in their lives have - is "in the game" is wholly and inarguably irrelevant to anything on this thread. That's like saying that Harvest Moon characters aren't shown eating so eating is not in the game and irrelevant to a discussion about what food to plant in their farms. The game does not include eating, only food. If you can't agree with me on this, then we are not of the same species and should just ignore each other on this issue.
  14. /RP /OOC /SWTORRP If there are any others people in those channels can tell you. And both sides get plenty activity at certain times of the day.
  15. If you don't manage to wiggle your way into a conversation IC, it's usually acceptable to send an OOC Whisper asking to be included. If THAT gets ignored, they're jerks and you shouldn't waste your time on them anyway.
  16. These two statements are not mutually inclusive.
  17. Believe me, the tank hates you just as much. I can't stand jump-the-gun DPSes who are constantly prematurely ejaculating. Going by your other posts, you don't seem to view this game as a game. You seem to want to race through and get your presents as quickly as possible. And hey, if the rest of your group feels the same that's fine. But don't pretend that it's a problem with everyone else rather than with you.
  18. What exactly do you think happens when the PC and companion walk into a room together and there is a fadeout? A game of Magic: The Gathering?
  19. Sadly, I don't want Cathar. Other than that, any race that is too obscure to make sense running around the galaxy. The Voss are just awesome, but they're only on Voss.
  20. A recent issue of Dark Horse's comic series Dawn of the Jedi featured a "Forcesaber" that could only be activated through channeling the Dark Side. Of course, that was 20,000 years BBY. So it appears that there's some wiggle room allowed, as it technically depends on the individual lightsaber.
  21. As a customer, I fully support a reputation system based purely on money expenditure because I want to laugh at all the fools who spent real money to gain imaginary respect.
