  1. Here are some stats for you, taken from a very small percentage of the population (around 10k) since December. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Teala_TeJir/swtorgraph2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Teala_TeJir/xfire2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v356/Teala_TeJir/xfire3.jpg These are xfires numbers. Anyone that doesn't know xfire, it is a small program that gamers use to communicate with each other and track where their friends are, like and advanced instant messenger for gamers. Website these were taken from http://www.xfire.com current people playing and all that at http://beta.xfire.com/games/swtor edit - I am not trying to depress you guys, I am just wanting to get past this silly argument so we can move on to what can be done to actually fix the game. Because it is pretty obvious that not alot of people actually like the game as it is (comparative to the total mmo market available that is).
  2. There is no way xfire can give you the actual sub count, but it can show you that the game is shrinking. Less people playing and less hours played. For example, in January 11 thousand xfire user played SWTOR. In February it was closer to 5k. The only explanations are that for some reason xfire users have an actual bias against swtor they didn't have in January, or people are not playing it as much (says nothing about subs either, I have not played in weeks but didn't cancel till yesterday).
  3. not having macros is just dumb and bioware is dumb for not implementing them. But, to be fair, I don't think it is Biowares active choice to leave macros out. I am starting to think they are unable to do it. Maybe there is something in the Hero Engine or their ported version of it that would make macros too hard to implement. Maybe it has something to do with client side and server side commands, related to combat delays and the like.
  4. You are still way off. Look around on the internet (avoid actual SWTOR fansites, they have monetary interests in the game succeeding). Check twitter, blogs, mmorpg.com forums, massively commentary, video blogs. The entire internet knows this game is sinking. Just search Tortanic and look at all the links. I would say 800k subs. Game will stabalize in 4-5 months at around 500k subs and be stuck there.
  5. I don't know what to think about the legacy system. The thinks they are talking about that I like, I think should be in the game anyways without the legacy system. Some of the things I think there is no point to, being I've never heard anyone request them. And some things I think are just wrong to do (force lighting on bounty hunters for an example). So yea, I guess I do kinda think the entire legacy system is just stupid, at the very least a gimmick to get people to reroll.
  6. I do not consider you a fanboi Darka. Fanboi's are the guys that attack anyone saying anything about the game, I've never seen you do it. You have always been respectful to everyone's opinion. Just wanted you to know that it did not go unnoticed, by this drone anyways.
  7. You do the same thing you did when you beat the KOTOR games. Play something else, you beat it already.
  8. 1.2 is too little too late. This game is doomed. But not all is lost, Bioware, use this opportunity to figure out what you did wrong and come back with stronger games...because honestly, you have been producing 'meh' quality games for some time now. And please, for the love of god, don't take these fanboys seriously. They will NOT tell you what you did wrong being they don't think you did anything wrong.
  9. If mods were allowed this would of been done already.
  10. I am happy you guys are happy. Who am I to judge your standards?
  11. I would like to assign conditions on button presses. For example; if in stealth cast this, if not in stealth cast this or if target is friendly cast this, if target is enemy cast this I would also like modifiers on buttons. For example; If ctrl cast this, if alt cast this and if no modifier present cast this. I would also like cast some stuff on a focus target with the modifier I would also like to assign targets with a simple button press And lastly, I would like to say things with button presses. Like one click directions. All my macros would just be there to reduce the damn buttons I have to have everywhere on my screen, but I am told it is because I lack any real skill and that is why I need these things. edit - I forgot about mouseover macros, the most important one!
  12. I don't know if I buy that. But it could represent a different type of player (fps fans and the like) that may not be inclined to play well with mmorpgs. Or it could be that xfire is such a resource hog that people turn it off before playing SWTOR.
  13. That's a subject dodge if ever there was one. I didn't ask what he said, I asked what he thought about xfire stats and how they relate to the health of SWTOR.
  14. So it is your assumption that Xfire users are disproportionately anti swtor and those numbers are there because of it? The forums I can understand. But Xfire users have something against swtor for some reason? Because that is the only way this game is growing while xfire shows it dying.
  15. First, I agree only a small portion of the playerbase is represented in the forums. I would also go so far as to agree that a disproportionate percentage of them are unhappy (unhappy people complain, happy people just keep playing). But not everyone that does not come to the forums are happy. Some just quit without a word. The complainers here are probably some trolls (less than you suspect) and people actually MAD at the game/Bioware/EA. They are mad because they were once fans and the game did not turn out as they had hoped. The bigger the turn from their expectations and hopes, the more the anger. Also, Bioware/EA is not the only place you can get your stats. There are other indications almost as good. Xfire being a prime example. Also, market analysts and read quarterly financial reports and piece together sub numbers from all the other numbers they give out when a company refuses to get specific. But I don't feel the game is losing subs because I am actually mad at Bioware for the letdown, I assume the subs are dropping because of what I see on the fleets, the types of complaints from fans of the game (ie, merge the servers already type posts), and the forums and chat all over the main mmo sites out there (mmorpg.com and massively). It seems the entire internet knows this game is in trouble and the only place you can hear anyone saying anything other is here when the fanboys and girls attack critics.
  16. jedi use lightsabers. They should be at a disadvantage if not using one, but they should be able to wield other weapons. I see no problem here. I would even take it farther, saying they could use basically any weapon in the game, but they should suck using them (compared to the light saber).
  17. Yea but 200k is very extreme. Not sure I buy that. I would say in another three months you will have at least 500k still playing.
  18. ok, so some have held you. And I am basically with you. No mmo's except wow have held me for long because they all feel lacking in soul. AoC was close. Eve I couldnt get past the first hour (too confusing and different). STO, Aion, Warhammer, GW, Rift, none of them held me for even a month. I did two here, but Im done with this game now as well =(
  19. He said it was a feeling, it's not like he is alone on this or anything. There is thread after thread of players here in game complaining about population problems and demanding server merges to fix it.
  20. The only stats out there are xfire and mmodata.net Neither of them is 100% but both show a decline.
  21. Not clear on this post's purpose. Are you here to reassure him that SWTOR is doing well because WoW lost 2 million subs or are the two items unrelated and you just wanted to laugh at WoW a bit?
  22. Did I hear that correctly? This is the longest you have ever subbed to an mmo before? And you have played many?
  23. You are worried they will go to far like SWG did with the whatever it was called? (CU or something like that).
