  1. Because they didn't put time in to level? Because they didn't put time into gearing? Are you telling me that someone is physically incapable of leveling past 11? That the game does not allow it? That you can't get to level 50 in a very reasonable amount of time? That people with very full schedules will never ever level to 50? Really?
  2. If you say so. This has already been addressed several times. Feel free to read the thread.
  3. Your complete rebuttal has really awed me. I am speechless. I do love cats though.
  4. Why not? Why should someone get a "by" because they are weak?
  5. Because this game is supposed to emulate war, not sports. You don't throw away your most powerful weapons because your opponents don't have them or because it's "unfair." If you decide to wage full scale war, you throw everything you have at them. I mean hell, the only reason nuclear weapons haven't been used in war since WW2 is because of how bad they are for the environment and for innocents. If you could single out the enemy to be nuked with no collateral damage, I guarantee you they would be used. That's how I envision war zones. Everyone that queued up is an enemy combatant, they are all choosing to oppose you. Launch the nukes, hold nothing back. If they can't nuke you back, too bad for them. I understand you disagree with me, I think many people do. And that is also ok.
  6. I think I can use the phrase that every one on Republic uses when Imperials complain about PvP queues: "You knew when you rolled what you were getting into rolling for the side with less people." Apologies for the cliche. Either way, again, I'm in full support of unfairness in PvP. That's the point of PvP in my mind, unfairness. You use every advantage you can against your enemy to defeat them as completely as possible. You don't fight fair fights in love or war. If you do, you're a fool.
  7. That's your opinion and you have a right to it. I would prefer no brackets of any kind in any kind of PvP. Fight everyone, most leveled, most geared, most organized, most skilled or the team with the bigger advantage between the four wins.
  8. So spend your time leveling? I never claimed that you would have an equal footing as a lowbie. In fact, I have said the opposite. And I think that's how it should be. You're a lowbie, you should get beaten almost every time. You have the ability to level, there are plenty of other things to do besides PvP. Have at it. If you want to compete with the 50s, get to 50, gear up, and smash their faces in. How am I priding myself at all?
  9. If you say so. I never claimed to be elite. In fact, I made several statements that I'm not on top. I said no such thing. In fact, I know it does. I think it should. I think it should be unfair. That is the point. Yes. And they should have to deal with it, or fix it by leveling and gearing. I think no one should get a "by" because they're low level. You chose to PvP, you should have to deal with everything PvP is which, by its very nature, is unfairness. Welcome to MMOs. Have you played any before? I never said that "true skill" was to be demonstrated. I said level up, gear up, skill up, or get destroyed. They are independent variables in the advantage equation but they the end product relies on all of them. The distinct advantage is obvious and should be there. That's my point. It isn't. I came better prepared, I put down more money, I should win. You don't get a special "knives only fight" bracket in a street fight. Hell, you can still win. Just sneak up behind me, stab me, you win. I certainly do believe gear makes a difference. I don't think you read most of this thread. I'm not so pro. Never claimed to be.
  10. I can't discuss their future plans for PvP gear as I really don't know. I'm going to guess it will be something like WoW's system where the old gear becomes more readily available and the new gear is hard to get again. The gap can be decently large, true, I agree. It certainly isn't insurmountable though, nor is it not something that can be overcome with good playing and hard work. I'm a huge fan of hard work. I think you should want to get better constantly and strive for new heights because you see how much stronger someone is than you. I'm not at the top, btw, either, I'm not a battlemaster. I do enjoy the game still even though I get beat down by the BMs. I keep trying to do better every WZ I enter and every time I go to Ilum. I just wish more people shared those thoughts instead of saying things like "remove the PvP gear" or "make me a new bracket" or "create valor brackets." You should be trying to improve your playing and not just your handicap.
  11. com·pe·ti·tion noun 1. the act of competing; rivalry for supremacy, a prize, etc.: The competition between the two teams was bitter. 2. a contest for some prize, honor, or advantage: Both girls entered the competition. 3. the rivalry offered by a competitor: The small merchant gets powerful competition from the chain stores. 4. a competitor or competitors: What is your competition offering? 5. Sociology . rivalry between two or more persons or groups for an object desired in common, usually resulting in a victor and a loser but not necessarily involving the destruction of the latter. Seems to fit to me. *Shrugs* There's no special formula or some special reason why people on one side would get no 50s on their team ever and the other side always does. It's all luck. Plus I loved queuing with my lowbie friends, we still destroyed enemy teams despite the fact that I was the only 50 and we were against other 50s. You guys are acting like it was always a team of all 50s vs a team of all non 50s. I'm willing to bet that didn't happen nearly as often as people like to say it did.
  12. Yup, but that the "special" group of people gets to be exempt from dealing with that other group. So really, not nearly as much. You guys even said it yourself: Dealing with a 49 isn't nearly as "bad" as dealing with a 50. That's my point. I think you should have to deal with the "baddest." It seems to be an opinion not widely shared here. I'm okay with that.
  13. Feel free to not read my thread then. You solicited it by clicking on it. Just saying. If you have more pvp knowledge and/or experience, feel free to share some of it instead of making a vague appeals to authority. Thank you.
  14. Ah, then the misreading was on my part. I thought he was referencing the 50s bracket for some reason. Responding to many posts, probably didn't read as clearly as I should have. You win. <--- Not sarcastic, actually relenting. I'd have to re-read to change my response to him, there's a lot of posts coming in, I'll be honest, I probably won't.
  15. My issue isn't with me at all. I'm perfectly happy. I'm trying to get the 10-49s to see things my way at least a little. They don't seem to want to.
  16. I love PvP, never find it boring regardless of who my opponent is unless s/he did not choose to PvP. You joined a WZ, thus you chose to PvP. You are a willing participate in the fighting. I don't gank people because I don't think it's fun. If you choose to fight me I will fight you with everything I have because anything less is disrespectful.
  17. So there's no expertise on the 40 PvP gear? Weird, I thought there was. Once again, this has absolutely nothing to do with winning or losing or getting beat in PvP at 50. If it were, I would be doing what I'm saying the 10-49s should do which is: Check gear, check consumables, check grouping, check class, check skill, make sure I'm maxing them out before crying on the forums. Then, and only then, would I put up a constructive post asking for adjustments or help on how to do better in PvP. Rewards are earned and I have earned mine. I'm just asking those that love their 10-49 bracket to earn theirs instead of asking for special treatment because they don't feel like putting in the time to do so. See what I'm saying?
  18. Uh, no it doesn't. Because the first sentence was regarding the person I quoted who was talking about 50s pvp and rolling Imperials as Republic. The second sentence was about creating a special bracket for lowbies who don't seek to level, gear, etc. to be competitive. So again, how was that contradictory? If my wording was unclear, then my mistake. If you misread it, your mistake. Either way, not contradictory. Sorry I had to point that out to you.
  19. Why? If everyone was equal skilled why even bother? You're not better than anyone. The entire point of competitive gaming is to be better than someone. You seek advantages to be able to beat people. That's the point. Tactical advantages, gear advantages, class advantages, level advantages, it's all part of the game. If it weren't, it wouldn't be in there in the first place. Someone who beats you because of gear beat you because they spent time farming gear. Someone who beats you because of level beat you because they spent time leveling. Someone who beats you because of skill beat you because they react faster, have better class knowledge, and spent more time learning the game or practicing than you. Etc., etc., etc.
  20. Reading comprehension is hard. I know. It's okay. Keep working at it though. Those don't contradict each other at all. If you can actually explain how they do, feel free to do so instead of making a vague reference that tries to imply intellectual superiority. I said he has an advantage, I'm glad that is the case. The game is about capitalizing on that advantage. I then said that making special level brackets encourages people to not try to get those advantages even though it is within their power to do so. They can level to 50, they can gear out, they can group with friends, they can learn more about their class and other class mechanics and become better players. How was that contradictory? I bet you don't respond because you don't have an answer.
  21. I never said it was fair. In fact my ENTIRE POINT was that it isn't and that's how it should be! It SHOULD NOT be fair! He's level 12, you're level 50. He has crap gear, you have good gear. You should completely 100% annihilate him. That's how PvP should be. Losing at PvP should be a motivator to level up, gear up, and better yourself. Not reason to start a crying fest about how overpowered 50s are, how expertise is overpowered, etc. Not a reason to blame X, Y, or Z. Blame yourself, work on it.
  22. 1. Who said to skip all quests and grind? You can't complete your class quests until 50 (or at least high 40s) anyway, so yes, you have to get to 50 to fully enjoy the story. 2. I suppose, but I still don't see the point of covering for weakness because you refuse to take it upon yourself to get stronger. 3. Probably is but why should things be balanced for someone is is clearly weaker? Why should a level 10 be able to fight a level 20, 30, or 40 on equal ground? S/he shouldn't in my opinion. You're weaker. 4. Completely disagree, you're just choosing not to see them and instead infer a bunch of things I didn't say.
  23. I'm not crying at all. You keep saying this and yet there is no evidence of crying. You're making it up in your head and are convinced it's the truth. A friend of mine is a really good psychiatrist if you want his number.
  24. You are physically incapable of hitting level 50? Strange, let me login to your account and see if we can get you to 50. Bet we can. Getting into FP's is far from impossible. Do you have any other skill spec you can use? Do you have a guild? Quests give you all the gear you need while leveling. Stop sending your guys on crew skill missions, you'll find yourself with plenty of credits. Work harder at leveling. Once you hit 50, you swim in credits. Plenty of spare money for consumables. You are quite physically capable of purchasing consumables. You have friends that are 50 already? I guess the solution to level to 50 is even more appealing, isn't it? If you suck at PvP, you can get better. You just have to want to and you have to work at it. Anyone can be good at PvP in this game it just might take time. This is what I'm trying to tell people. You are not physically incapable of any of these things. You're more like a lazy person that doesn't want to stand up instead of a legless person wanting to stand up. Not trying to be offensive (genuine apologies if it comes off that way) but these are all fixable problems.
