  1. That wasn't the sense I got at all from their answer. The 'hesitation' on the part of the monitor of Livestream seemed like he was trying to find some appropriate words so as to ask the question, and not end up with someone with far too much passion flaming him. On the part of the developer answer, it seemed more like a 'pause' of relief, like they had been waiting for that answer all day and were ready for it at that specific point in the summit. I doubt it was a fluke, too many things they did read to me like they were expecting or ready for the question. Edit : Additional Thought While not rehearsed, it did seem like the developers had thought out this answer to the best of their ability, with a hope to satisfy as many people as possible. At least, that's what it seemed like to me. You can't make everyone happy, but if you can satisfy several, then Job Completed. On an additional thought, Considering they had spoken that they knew who was going to be involved as SGRA, I wonder if I'm the only one looking at current non-romancable companions and just wondering.
  2. I honestly can't answer about Treasure Hunting, but there's also the option of repeatable heroics and flashpoints. I know I ran Esseles/BT multiple times, not for AP, but for LS/DS points on my characters. The AP I earned was actually rather substantial, and using the GTN could also provide a decent number, arguably that's dependent on player prices, but that's a whole different discussion all-together. It would be difficult to lose all the AP, but the wide arrangement of Heroics that could be easily solo-able makes it more of a short grind to recover, as well as starting over at Rank 1 Gifts.
  3. I think this is a really good idea for the problem of 'existing' players who may have gone too far in a storyline. However, I can see a few issues with the idea of paying XP for the conversation reset. Primarily, it might still cause some upset or frustrated players if they accidentally missed an option before implementation. Personally, I liked the idea of my Shadow training Nadia and romancing her, unfortunately, I got a little too far in her dialogue options without necessarily realizing where the 'romance' starts. While I wouldn't mind paying an obscene amount of credits for a convo reset, the idea of suddenly being unable to use any of my gear because it is all requiring level 50 doesn't sit well with me. Perhaps a better option might be to use the credits as well as a full AP reset for the companion in question. That way, there's still effort expended, and more than just the credit cost. I do think there needs to be something other than credits to encourage people to truly think before they go forward. Honestly, While I do enjoy some of the potential romances, and think they might be fun to explore with the SGRA spin, I find myself somewhat hoping that at the time of actual incorporation, they use a 'New companion only' model for working in. It might solve many of these potential issues with the minimal chance of some coding quirk breaking everything around a specific companion that already exists.
  4. With all the talk about future PVE and PVP gear, I am wondering if we will be seeing any new Equippable Ship Upgrades in the near future, and if so, will there be more unique ways to obtain these upgrades other than just through crafting or Ship Upgrade Vendors.
  5. I made it through about six pages of this drek and trolling. For all the people who said 'EA' threw the gauntlet at Blizzard. That's the fanbase, not the company. You can go back to being grumpy at your fellow forum-goers for building your expectations, or being grumpy at yourself for falling into the hype with rose-tinted horse blinders on. For all the people comparing it to WoW, just -stop-. If you like WoW so much, go play it. If you don't, stop talking about it. Unless I'm mistaken, this is in fact a SW:TOR forum, in fact an official one. Please keep your trolls out of my Star Wars, for all definitions of the word trolls. For those complaining about endgame content, perhaps you should take a good long look at how you yourself play through a game before crying that developers aren't trying/don't care. If you find yourself constantly saying 'small worlds' or 'linear quests' or measuring the time it takes to level with an actual day/hour measurement, then you probably shouldn't be playing new MMOs. You will get bored. You are impatient. If you say 'I can't level alts', then perhaps a -story driven- MMO is not the game for you. Given it's a -story- and the -main story- is different, then perhaps you should look for another game without a story. I'm not going to list any here, but there's a handy-dandy search engine called 'google'. Bet you can find tons of Free To Play storyless games where you can beat up low levels for funsies. (On an aside, if you see 'Korean' in the title, it might be -perfect- for you, since it will take you forever to level) For those who are having fun with the game, carry on. I know I am. But I also went into the game knowing how businesses work, how games work (especially MMOs), and knowing I wanted to see how TOR started and how it grows. I'm excited for this game, more so than I've been for a long time for any game, MMO or otherwise. And one last night, just on a personal level since these are the forums. : if you find it impossble to speel crct or to us punctatn bcuz yur bzy Please. Just stop. Some of us who read these forums are actually looking to provide some feedback, or to be somewhat useful. It doesn't take that much time to use appropriate punctuation and spelling. The forum window even appears to have a spell-checker built in. Please use it. This isn't your cell phone texting window while you are driving. Let us attempt to communicate like the adults we all are in reality.
  6. I agree that I'd like some changes to the GTN, but I believe the ones I'd like will be added eventually. Such as being able to search for specific armor locations (Ex: Legs, Chest, Helm) while also looking for rarity. That would be a nice change, as well as being able to sort companion gifts by type ( Ex: Luxury, Military Gear... ). Pretty sure we don't need an upgrade to the 50 items though. I know I've never had more than ... 10 on my worst day posted up, and I firmly believe that increasing a cap so dramatically could have negative consequences on the ability to search/find what you need. I'll create an Over the Top Example from something I've actually experienced from another MMO that shall remain nameless. I'm crafting Artifice, I require several of Artifice Fragment X. I see one stack up, let's say it's 75 items, and it's a reasonable price. I go, do a space mission or something to get the credits, come back to the GTM..only to find out that same stack is gone. Instead, one person is 'playing' the market, bought that list, then relisted it individually at a greatly inflated price, so much so that they may as well have relisted each item individually at the same price as the stack of 75, all for the 'glory' of controlling the market. No thanks. No Thanks. Summary : Keep the 50 Item limit, but make it easier to search for specific item types.
  7. Sexual Torture. You keep using that word (phrase). I do not think it means what you think it means. I've tried to read your posts, honestly I have. But it's the same argument over and over, and you reposting the same thing while insulting people who disagree with you. The Slave Collar is nothing more than a 'stun gun'. Perhaps you would like we go to Youtube, and claim about 'sexual torture' anytime someone posts a video of their stupidity getting tazed. IF we take it to extremes, as you seem to, we should add a warning to police that tazering someone who is drunk or resisting arrest to be 'Sexual violence'. I can -somewhat- understand your argument, but I believe you are completely wrong. You rolled a class that ESRB knew about, and posted information on in their website complete with content. I might give your arguments more weight if you, yanno, stopped calling something stunning/incapacitating for punishment as 'sexual torture'. You chose to play a male sith and make those decision, or if not, you chose to argue about something and vie for the removal of content others might enjoy, simply because it offended you. You have already proven you won't admit you made the choices of your own will, so I know you won't 'budge' on your belief, you are stuck in the mud, bunkered down because you are right and everyone trying to discuss it is wrong. Yeah, I have a Sith Warrior. I've remade her multiple times. She's perpetually been female, and while she often shocks the crap out of Vette, there's never any 'flirt' or 'sex', and with the non-inclusion of Same Gender Romance, the only explination to you seeing 'sex' is you played a guy, and you wanted to follow that. As for your original complaint, about "Evil Empire, With Horrible Moral Values", but I have to agree with everyone else who's given points to you that you seem to ignore, about how evil the 'Empire' is, and how it has been canon. Rewatch all the movies, and I do mean all of them, Episode I - VI. In order if it helps. You will see that the Empire, and those that followed the Empires' beliefs...were certainly no rose. Manipulation, Torture, Murder, all common themes. Remember, one of the 'greatest' villains of all time, Darth Vader, tortured 2 humans and 1 alien for no other reason than to piss off/irritate 'The Good Guy' Luke. He also took a city that was 'free' and made it a complete totalitarian state whenever he got frustrated. Really, watch Empire Strikes Back and pay attention to it. TL;DR Electrocution/Stun technology is not -automatically- 'Sexual Torture', you are chosing to view it as such. Also, the Empire is not nice, nor do they propose 'morality' questions to players. They exist..to -be- the most extreme bad guy they can be. It's the Sith Way.
  8. 1.) Either removal of PVP, or at least removal of the complaints related to it. I understand the game is 'Star Wars' and there is a war, but Warzones work well. Stick with them. Remove World PVP and PVP-flagging areas. Being Grief on an RP server isn't fun. I chose not to be on a PVP server for a reason. 2.) Name Enforcing Rules -AND- Meaningful titles. If your name is 'JimmyJoBobly', I don't want to see 'Master' or 'Darth' in front of it. Those titles should be earned, and names should at least somewhat fit into the scheme of Star Wars. And if your name is a variant of 'Revan' or 'Malak'....go far away, please. 3.) Learn from previous MMO mistakes. I'd like to explain the 3rd one. In detail. This thread has been filled with people 'Take X from WoW' 'Forget everything from WoW'. Learn from WoW (Also Rift, GW, Korean MMOs, EQ, SWG, LOTRO.) Catering to the whimsy of the PVP crowd is a mistake. Catering to the whims of a gear-hunting 'New Shiny to show off' crowd is also a mistake. Make end-game more involved for the story (Hey, they're making new acts. Sweet.) Make the game play more social. I honestly think an LFG/LFR (Yes, it'd be LFF/LFO in TOR) would be tantamount to destroying social interaction in the game. Yes, some people would get to run the content, but the level of 'trolls' doing it would be over 9000, and we'd have even more forum complaints. There were some good things to come out of these games, and some brilliant ideas. Just make sure you take the good ideas and leave the bad out. Oh wait. I'd like to add one last wish. 4.) For a time machine. So I could go back to a time where gamers, especially online, were patient. Understood the development process and -not- to blame publishers for bugs that development was fixing. But, since that's impossible, I'd settle for players as a whole to remember that developers aren't machines, have deadlines, and fixing a bug isn't as easy as flipping a switch. Show some patience, and stop screaming about little things.
