  1. This is becoming infuriating. I don't have the perfect setup for internet and there isn't much I can do to improve my situation. Every so often my WiFi will cut out for a split second. For everything else on my computer this isn't a problem, the connection immediately resumes and I never notice that I dropped. With SWTOR I immediately get the red X and my ping spikes before the game boots me back to the server list and gives me the error it can't find servers. I'm forced to close the game and reboot the launcher etc. Typically if this happens while I'm in a Flashpoint then its over and I'm likely kicked by the time I log back in after being forced to go all the way back to desktop. This is ridiculous. I don't know any other game that FORCES you to quit back to desktop just because your internet dropped for a hair of a second. I really don't enjoy playing through an entire flashpoint with my butt cheeks clenched together in fear that I see that red X.
  2. Haven't subbed in months. Resubbed for the bonus and already set it to cancel after this month. I played for like an hour last night before I got bored out of my mind. I probably won't end up dropping anymore cash on the Store since I can only stand to play the game an hour a week or so.
  3. So I'm immediately regretting my transfer, I lost all my character names including my legacy (which even used alt characters). BioWare could have done so many different things for transfers that didn't screw over the majority of player's names they have had since launch. The only ones spared were a few with enough luck to roll on a destination server months ago including plenty that probably haven't even subbed in months. I am genuinely pissed right now and wished I had never transferred.
  4. Some advice, using extreme real-world situations doesn't contribute to the point your trying to make about a video game. I honestly could care less about your examples because they are so far removed from the relevant situation. Now, most if not all of the origin servers are going to be shutdown, probably sooner rather than later. All of the inactive accounts on those servers will be transferred somewhere whether they like it or not. The number of servers that will disappear will be the greater part of 200. How is keeping a half-dozen of those servers open after they've been wiped so that people who care about something you obviously do not, selfish? We all pay the same $15 a month for this game, many even pre-ordered the game for early access so they could save the names they wanted. How are they less important because they were unfortunate enough to roll on a server that half a year later would end being closed? The players that supported the game from the beginning are selfish because they hold something like a name in high regard? Your right about one thing, things could be a lot worse, but things could also be a LOT better.
  5. I've gone and checked all the possible destination servers for PVE-East and only 6 have at most half of my character names available. Character names are very important to me, I spend just as much time coming up with a name for my character as I do customizing their appearance. I was really excited during early release that I was able to get almost all the names I was planning to use. My server is lucky to have 2 people on Fleet at prime time and because of rng that I probably didn't choose a destination server 6 months ago I will be forced to lose all my names that define my characters. I'm tempted to not even transfer. I would rather be completely alone on a server and stay unsubbed until they open a new server that I could transfer to and keep my names. While I'm glad BW finally admitted they needed to merge servers I feel like there was so much more that could do to help out the players that were unlucky enough to roll on an origin servers, especially considering that many peoples servers were chosen for them before the game was even released. Does anyone else feel this, am I the only one who is willing to NOT transfer?
  6. I resubbed earlier today and then immediately cancelled my subscription. My reason being that I'm waiting to see how transfers will work with my server. If it turns out my server is an origin server then I'll see if I can get placeholder names on the destination server for all my characters that I want to transfer before I do the transfer. If the names I want aren't taken or my server is a destination server then I'll transfer/wait until my game time runs out to see how the population is afterwards before I decide to resub again. If the names I want are taken then I won't transfer and will probably not bother to resub again.
  7. I think this is the last day before my subcription runs out. I saw the 1.3 trailer and was super excited that we finally get a LFG tool. Now on my ghost town of a server it will only take 2 hours to find a group instead of 3!
  8. How do you plan to deal with character names once server transfers become available? All of my active characters are on Infinity Gate which is already one of the least populated servers at the moment. I see it only getting worse once server transfers are made available and everyone starts transferring to more populated servers. I don't want to to transfer my characters that I've become attached to since early access only to be forced to change their name.
  9. So your saying you have 28 bound abilities? Why do you need that many abilities to have a class be "fun"? What happened to having a core set of abilities that could be used in a variety of situations and strategy coming from deciding of what ability to use in a given situation. As it is now, "in case of x, use y". Except for Stasis and Push there is almost no decision making.
  10. I agree that this issue is a vast lack of foresight and I would rather have a Jedi robe that let me see the character I made 35 levels ago.
  11. I hit 35 and couldn't stand the fact that I hadn't seen my characters hair in almost 30 levels. I just bought one of the Smuggler legendary chest pieces from Tatooine with commendations, swapped out mods and I only lost 1% of damage reduction from armor so I figured its worth it.
  12. The amount of skills that we have is ridiculous. More than anything it is just plain annoying; personally I prefer to not bind skills to individual keys and instead have individual bars hot keyed. I'm not even 40 yet and I have more abilities than can fit on 3 bars. Every new ability I get makes the class less and less enjoyable. Why do I have to have seperate abilities that can only be used when an enemy is stunned, snared, slept, maimed, depressed, complacent, bipolar, or overly excited. Seriously? There are maybe 3 JK abilities that have any synergy at all, other than that the class is less fun to play than it was at lvl 10.
