  1. So umm, can we add a "you must be this bad" clause to the TOS for a violation (kind of like "this tall to ride").
  2. Pax is a community first and foremost. I think that you would be hard pressed to find anyone in Pax who would say that they feel like just a cog in a larger machine or feel neglected. It can definitely feel overwhelming at first, as we have literally hundreds of members in many different games, but you'll quickly meet and form bonds with the people that you play with. I gotta say that every time I read this thread I get a huge smile. http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=533700&page=13
  3. First, welcome to The Ebon Hawk. Check out http://www.paxgaming.com if you're looking for good people to game with. We're a pretty large guild, but don't let that scare you.
  4. Yeah but that's cause you're high as a kite all the time. Inhibriated ftw fo sho.
  5. Laugh at your own jokes much, amirite?
  6. I also hear that you're the writer behind "The Vampire Diaries". I must say that I'm glad that the CW picked it up for another season, an AMAZING show!
  7. But the screen shoot shows 10. You will not fool us! We be fools already.
  8. I disagree with you. While at first the average level of PVP will drop, the skill gap vacuum will allow players to adapt and learn new strategies and you'll most certainly see players get better and better. When you have a group of dedicated players and you can recognize the holes in your comrade's PVP game, then you can bring it to light and work on getting them and your whole team (or premade) better. You'll be surprised by how much NOT-FUN you'll see in warzones without good players in them. All that QQ about people not watching nodes or doors or calling out, lots of rage hate is in on the horizon. From all that I've heard, the average PVP skill level on POT5 is no higher than it is on TEH. The only difference is that POT5 has a vibrant Ranked scene. Anyone who disagrees or knows better, please correct me on this issue. So while you'll see many (if not most) hardcore PVPers transfer, that does not mean that all of the good or great PVP players will be leaving. As has been said, many of the hardcore players will keep alts on TEH.
  9. 100% agreement with this post. On the +7% damage boost, it is HUGE! We try to min/max 1/2% because when skill levels equalize then gear becomes the deciding factor (and vice-versa). 7% is a tremendous advantage, in effect it is much more than a 35k more damage, it can be the deciding factor in killing, healing, capping, staying alive, etc etc. MMO players are a tremendous disappointment these days.
  10. Shout out to Reilen and Republic. Also, big shout-out to Mustaine (Mr. Ribosome) and the rest of the Core guys. Also big shout-out to Vestus and the other PVPers from Pax.
  11. Don't know who your toons are but your statement is simply not true. They have only one exceptional player, a couple of solids, and rest are average to good. They're good, they have a very solid core of experienced players, but they are far from being 'the best'. Also, I don't know who 'terrorizes' the server. First off, they can do w/e they want. Secondly, we can call them out if we don't like it. They have their rights and the angry EH community QQers have free speech. Look to the people who 'tested out' The Watchmen and then why they left to go back to their old guilds or maybe other guilds in general. I've heard that while some of their members are nice folks, they have a couple of real nasty foul-mouthed douchebags who berate PUGs (precisely bad pugs). Seems like they have 'rights' to be nasty nasty? Okay, well that's nice. Anyways, to be on topic I want to give a shout out to Aeonneta (spelling?) from <The Watchmen>, very skilled Assassin, and a hybrid-sin legend from what I've heard. Also shout-out to Sevni, Wisteria (throwing some Ukrainian lard at ya, mmmm delicious!), Vestus, Wrecks, Mustaine, and Volcrum.
  12. To the best of my knowledge, this is true to the word.
  13. Not sure about the RP. PVP is depended on the PUG and/or Premade matchup. We have some of the best PVPers you'll find on any server. Some of them will be moving when transfers become available, some will be staying. Not too much drama or trolling compared to what we've heard about POTz5. Plenty of PVE oriented guilds, plenty of guilds that span cross-faction. Generally a good vibe. Ranked has been dead until recently, there's an effort to make it happen/work. Kudos to those people who are driving Ranked. Also, Friday is "Pants Are Optional" day. I'm pretty sure that this is because real Sith men wear skirts!
  14. I was in TS with Wisteria last night, she explained the Tor'barr membership. Thanks for clearing it up.
  15. So you would say that individually members of Game Genies A-team are bads? Like maybe not bad bads, but maybe like B-rated bads? You think Dizeren is a bad? You think Dimitri is a bad tank? You think that Hollie is a bad healer? How about Sno? Or Arina? All these guys are bad individually, yes? Or Manlio? Or Alexis? Or how about Peyton? It doesn't matter how solid they are individually, all that matters is how they all "come together"? You don't have be in Game Genie to be a superb player, guys like Osidix are superb but with other great players they become part of an overwhelming force that smoothers and crushes the other teams players. You got picked up by Hex why? Because you were the best freaking Merc healer on the server. Why is it that top PVP guilds recruit elite players that do well in a solo setting? Do top PVP guilds recruit scrubs who all of a sudden find their place in the greater machine of a ranked team? I highly doubt this. Arguing that individual skill isn't important in a team setting is like saying that Lebron's individual skill didn't make the difference between the Heat winning and losing. Yes, the other players are important, but so are the all stars. When you have a team of all star players, you have a superb Ranked team. When you have average players, you have an average team.
  16. That's good, just that not everyone enjoys getting ridden into the ground over and over and over. Having and playing with friends is what social-MMO gaming, whether PVP or Raiding, is all about. You guys should be able to play with whoever and however for your money. @Omophorus Your a smart guy, why don't you actually ask the best ranked players about their tactics. How about we all get to learn about these special tactics that are reserved to elite 8-man ranked teams. Not over-committing? How is this special tactics learned from going up against elite teams? Over-committing is the reason good players ***** or roll their eyes when they PUG, they don't need to get rolled to learn "not to over-commit". How about switching targets on the fly, but again, I don't think that is something you learn from ranked. I think that Ranked is a league, just like you play a sport you can play a pickup game or you can go and play in a league. The level of skill and competition is much higher, on average, when you go play in a league. Yes I am a fragile butterfly, thank you for noticing. Like I said, it ain't about losing. I solo queue, I lose a ton, that doesn't phase me. Having **** teammates is a different story. Let me ask you something, how many Shadows/Assassins do you know who would compare to Dizeren? How about Sno (who I've been told recently is Source)? There are individual players who will make the difference for a team. The difference will literally be between a roll and a competitive match, that's how close skill equalization is at the top levels. If you don't think that it comes down to individual skills then you are sorely mistaken. You have to be elite on an individual level before you can make a team elite. You know why Game Genie was able to beat Hex, because of the Dizeren factor. That's 1 individual player who can make or break a team. He's a slick rick on his toons, regardless of whether it is his Guardian or his Shadow. Remember that, all it takes is 1 player to make or break a team. Please get it straight, I don't piss and moan about the state of PVP on this server, I see how it is and if there's a thread I may, may make a post. As far as I'm concerned PVP is fine. I'm putting some sexy outfits on my toons, I'm grinding my comms, I'm queueing with my guildies, I'm doing Raids and WBs and other social stuff with Pax, SWTOR is perfectly fine for me. Ranked would only be a nice little cherry on my cake. What you want me to complain about how bad the bads are? The bads are so bad, that pre 2.0 I was top DPS, in RECRUIT gear on my Merc... my f-ing merc! That is something to complain about, but I don't because I don't care. It ain't my job to ***** and moan and whine about how bad the bads are. I know they're bad, you know they're bad. They be bad. Are we organizing PVP clinics to help these poor bads? No, we're not. Nor do we have to nor do we truly care. It is easy to ***** and moan about it though. As far as Dark Empire and Guerilla and Game Genie not being the same, they sure as hell have members who multi-guild their toons. That's their right, I don't care, but that is meta as far as I'm concerned. Kudos to your persistence (I wouldn't call it stubborness, you guys aren't mules). But 1 day of getting your face planted isn't weeks and weeks of it, like I said, give it time. A sufficient sample size of time, I hope time proves me wrong. Anyways, I know you're only trying to help with Ranked and I don't want to have a flame war with you. Kudos to you and El Kamino and everyone else who you guys have had participate. Good luck!
  17. I keep on forgetting that Ocklan is Loggus, cause I keep on running into him!
  18. So you guys lost, what did you learn? How to focus fire? How to call targets? How to up your healing numbers? There is literally 0 things you can learn from queueing up against an elite level 8-man team. I see folks throwing up these "well we're learning". Listen, maybe I'm an exception but I don't need to 'learn' how to focus fire or put up the big numbers, I just do it. I have the situational awareness, the timing, the understanding of what is going on in the other parts of a warzone where I am not present. But frankly, if someone wants to work on that, to get better as an overall player, I don't see how Ranked will help. How does getting your face ground into the dirt teach you anything? Does a novice boxer go and hardcore spar with a World Champion, over and over and over? Again, I don't agree. I think PVP should be fun and when it becomes a chore, when it loses the enjoyment, I personally don't want to do it. I don't see anything wrong with losing, but I do see something wrong with queueing to lose over and over and over. You want to do it, Mazel Tov, I salute you but I must decline. After a while, after you get rolled for weeks at a time, you'll see these PUG members that you're organizing start to duck. "Ohhh, I'm running an Operation right now" or "Ohhh, my head hurts, I'll just do my daily in the regular Warzone and log" or maybe "You know, this just IS NOT fun". Pick any of those and eventually I think that this will permeate. Now I hope you prove me wrong, that would be awesome, for Ranked and for our server, but I have my reservations. I hope you and Mort both prove me wrong. Honestly, I don't have a problem in saying "hey guys, you really did make Ranked happen for longer than 3-4 weeks, it's been 6 months and Ranked is still going strong." But see, only time will tell. I think this is a good indication of everything. Weren't we given assurances that the Guerilla/GG/DarkEmpire metaguild wasn't going to queue during the 'practice' days. And Sunday was supposed to be a practice day. What happened on Sunday, oh they queued. Well, that didn't last long at all. Kudos to Luddott for pointing this out, I hadn't thought of this. My thinking is that until the meta-guild transfers out or stops logging into TEH, Ranked will not work. Just too many factors. I'd love to see a PUG version of Ranked, where PVP community members are sorta kickballing it, but we have guilds and metaguilds who pay the same $15 a month and if they want to queue their A-teams, then that is their right. We as individuals figure how we want to spend out time, like I've said, I don't want to bang my head against a wall. Anyways, gl to the peeps who are trying to make Ranked work, I salute you.
  19. Would it help if Bioware made that center building into a circular gazebo? Gazebo got ganked, anyone?
  20. I don't know the people in Gameperilla, so I don't really care about them guys/gals. They aren't worth my time or effort to "combat them" as you say (no pun intended to any Gameperilla peeps). They aren't my community or family or friends, I have 0 connections or loyalty to anyone there. I can live without Ranked, I don't care about it. I think it is another activity, a more hardcore form of PVP, but it isn't necessary for me to enjoy SWTOR. Winning also hasn't been a primary objective for me. The only thing that I do is pop into a WZ and if I don't recognize anyone I may leave. Now I'm not guaranteed to leave, but I really hate having a bad team at my back. Other than that I'm all carebear for PVP. So you are right, I am a carebear, but you know this. Apparently you got reserved optimism, similar to my response on Enjin, and you just couldn't hold it in, you had to go and blow your lid again. This isn't the first time and unlike last times, I didn't feel an obligation to privately let you know that "Hey Mort, you're drama llama-ing again." If you want to leave TEH, best of luck to you, but last time I checked there has been NO announcement for TEH server transfers. Slamming the door and stomping your feet is very immature. Would I like to see Ranked on TEH, sure. Do I want to participate when I have time, absolutely. Am I the Chuck Norris of the Ebon Hawk (as coined originally by you)... it's in my sig, but what I would personally like to see Ranked to be is first and foremost fun. And that is what I said to you, if you think the Gamepirella will allow everyone to practice and form some rag-tag teams and then 2-3 weeks later start curbstomping everyone, I don't think that many players will participate in that form of Ranked. People won't queue against A-teams that they know they will get pummeled by. I for one won't be participating in Gamepirella curbstomps. I have other things to do with my time than get rolled into the ground, over and over and over. If you guys want to make it fun and competitive, without poaching or any BS or drama, then I'm all for it. Otherwise, Ranked is DOA, with a little bit of a pulse. As far as how community views me, I try not to be too much of a douchebag. Sometimes it doesn't work out. I don't understand the point of this thread, is it your QQ that people don't want to queue up (or have expressed reservations) about queueing up against Gamepirella A-teams?
  21. You're probably right, maybe farmed isn't the right word. Spending $15 to get ROFL stomped doesn't sound like an enticing way to spend time.
