  1. On my assassin tank I have only completed HM Raptus once (and even in that instance I died at the 10% health mark) and have wiped countless times (often within 1GCD). At the time of the kill I was in 78 belt/bracers but the rest was 72 gear (I did have a bit too much defense compared with absorb and 38.5k HP stimmed, my relics were the pvp shield constant stat and UW Ephemeral Mending). I found the tank challenge was surprisingly easy, I'd return with ~45% HP remaining whereas the PT that was co-tanking would return with ~30% HP left. For the tank challenge Id just try to keep my self healing up as much as possible and pop overcharge saber when I left as I was picking up the boss not long after exiting. Deadly Slash hit me for an average of 9.5k but the highest hit I received was 16k. Rising Slash was similar, average hit of 11.5k and strongest was 17k. Force execution I found I would survive the ability, it would hit for 24-25k, but resorted to saving force shroud for that in later fights and get 0 damage from it By far in a way the most disastrous thing I found for my assassin was the ability "Driving Thrust" (although it animates more closely with thundering blast) which would hit me for 31-33k damage and lead to at least 10 wipes that evening as it occurred too soon after a 4-5k slash ability. (driving thrust hit our marauder for 35-36k as a comparison). I found that both myself and our PT died regularly around the time this ability was used (although me as an assassin half a dozen deaths for every time it killed our PT) During the kill I noticed that I was only hit by 2 driving thrusts (one of which my parse showed I resisted). Not sure if it was just good fortune at not getting the ability used or because myself and the PT tank started taunting the moment the other got below 90% HP.
  2. If it's the one I'm thinking is it from the bounty broker reputation vendor in the Cartel Bazaar on fleet that sells it
  3. I have also had this bug happen (at least sounds incredibly similar), but it occurred part of the way through a Lost Island instance rather than maelstrom prison. It was a group with 2 that had not gone it before and we wiped on grav-rak but when we hit the button to return to area start. We were all teleported to where we were meant to go but all 4 of us were unable to use any abilities or move. We were able to use the chat window and I was able to accept scavenging mission rewards (at first I thought it was lag where the game thought we were still dead, but dead people can't accept the items until they rez). One thing we did notice was the icon for when the ping gets to high and there is a disconnect was showing, although hovering over it showed a ping of 40 ms which varied like it normally does. 2 members of the group were disconnected at the same time. About 5-10 mins later the bug seemed to have resolved itself and we were able to continue.
  4. "CURRENT PLAYERS Build your legacy! Become an active Subscriber on October 20 and receive: JA-3 Subversive Battle Droid Mini-Pet JA-3 Subversive Speeder NEW SUBSCRIBER REWARD: Receive the first Digital Expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel free of charge* and continue your adventure to Level 55 when you rejoin as a Subscriber!" Just to clarify, will I get the speeder if I am already a subscriber, or would I need to unsubscribe and re-sub in order to receive these items? The latter seems like a silly idea (for lack of a better description). P.S. http://www.swtor.com/join-the-battle-rewards?intcmp=sor_bwa-mkt-t-us-hp-083 is the source of this information for anyone else looking.
  5. I agree entirely with this sentiment, particularly the second paragraph, you just beat me to writing something along similar lines. That's not to say there shouldn't be a discussion about it mind.
  6. Crafting the Bulwark 31 enhancement (shield + absorb) for Mats only. Contact Mar-kun on the imperial side. Alternately sent the mats in a mail message including the name of the item wanted in the text box so that I will know who the mail is from and will to able to sent the items back. Mats Required: *Carbonic crystal x4 *Primordial artifact fragment x4 Exotic element stabilizers x 5 Vial of stabilized Isotope 5 x 5 Mass Manipulation generator x1 *The ones with asterisk's send if you have them but no worries if not, The Exotic element stabilizers, Vial of stabilized Isotope 5 and Mass Manipulation generator are a must if you want your items to be crafted. Mar-kun will also craft the Black Blue dye module for mats only.
  7. In terms of 26 stuff Mar-kun can also craft Bastion, Battle and Bulwark as well as the Advanced Magenta Indestructible Crystal
  8. What I'd like most would be things like inheritance/birthright gear given to players for getting certain legacy levels, or at least have them more easily accessible in to higher legacy levels
  9. You've said this once already, in this very thread. I will ask you then, what exactly makes a good pvp system?
  10. A mechanic I'd like to see for this battle for this battle given there are 6 dread masters would be something along the lines of catching 2 or 3 of them "off guard" when they are without the the rest of the dream masters. Then at some point, such as a hp constraint they summon the rest of the dread masters and the fight steps up. Another option would be similar to the mind trap with soa, where everyone is in their own mind trap and has a fight similar to the infernal council, "freeing your mind" so that you can start fighting the dread masters proper. Without some way of getting the right battle for tanks/healers I can't see this happening however. Possibly not even a dps race fight, a puzzle for individual players would be an interesting way of doing it. (Or possibly the option of either surviving while being attacked and completing the puzzle or alternatively killing the mob, that way dps could kill it and tanks/healers can survive and do the puzzle instead.) All of this is assuming you fight all 6 in 1 boss fight, I wouldn't be surprised if they split them up into 2 boss fights
  11. My personal opinion on the matter is that most of the love of the original trilogy is nostalgia, a decent number remember the moments they think are epic but gradual forget the mediocre moments . With the prequels I do agree that it seems like they tried to force a lot of the story into a short space of time. I really liked the prequels, it gave the impression of really epic battles that the original trilogy lacked significantly in my opinion. I have no real preference between the 2 trilogies.
  12. In fairness they said they were adding a free to play option, rather than becoming free to play. Also the impression they have given is that players can subscribe for full access to everything at no additional cost (although there is a question hanging over the Makeb update) but they have additional option of paying a reduced amount to allow access to each of FPs/Ops/Wzs. It allows greater options to the consumer which I have no complaints about, allowing them to play the parts of the game they want.
  13. Merc's/Commandos are pretty good for solo and PvE gaming, but like has been said, you may be disappointed with PvP with those classes as they currently are.
  14. When TOR first came out there were limits on red/blue/green colour crystals and who could use them. It was only after a little while and probably many complaints that they allowed everyone to use whichever colour crystal they wanted
  15. Another thing worthwhile doing is exchanging 3 WZ comms for 1 RWZ comm, If you find you're at the limit of WZ comms that is, It just helps when you can purchase the war hero implant/earpiece as soon as you hit level 50
  16. Sorry I misread something. I have now deleted my comment.
  17. I completely agree with the 1st and 4th point. With 3 I agree this should be the case so long as those that are transferred post proper feedback to the developers about the new content. With 2 I think if certain guilds have a reputation of giving particularly useful feedback then I think they should get preferential treatment to those that don't actually test and using the PTS just for progression/learning the fights. It is the public TEST server afterall, for bioware to get to know if it is working as intended.
  18. This pretty much sums it up, concealment doesn't work particularly well with any hybrid spec I have tried. I tend to run a hybrid Lethality/healer most of the time which I have the most fun with and works really well for solo play. Sadly as it doesn't fit the pure DPS/Healer roles very well I have to respec fully to healing when I do FPs/Ops
  19. The one missing from the list is highest objectives, particularly in huttball or civil war when someone defends the side that didn't even get attacked during the warzone. I've seen very few vote for someone with top damage unless they had top medals as well.
  20. Those datacrons are in the areas that are part of the bonus series. Unlike other early planets where bonus series follow immediately after completing the planet the Nar shaddaa bonus series is designed for players to be at least level 28 I believe. You can still obtain the datacrons at lower levels but it can be more difficult with mobs a lot higher level than you roaming around.
  21. Trial and error is probably the best way to go with your first character, this is my first MMO and I made plenty of mistakes at first but so long as you learn from things you'll be fine. You don't lose anything if you lose a PvP match, infact you gain a reasonable about of xp for each one you complete and gain some warzone commendations which you need for PvP gear when you reach lvl 50. With companions they each have 2 different "stances" which normally changes the role they perform, you can select their stance in the same way you can select which abilities they use. I suggest at some point you may want to play around with the interface editor so that things are in the right place and more importantly the right size for what would like, also it can make life easier for players with certain roles.
  22. From what I saw they looked at the feedback in the class specific feedback threads they made a while ago and took the posts there seriously, however with the exception of reducing time of Guarded by the Force and the marauder equivalent I haven't seen much from the PvP forums being used. Then again if I worked at bioware I doubt I'd look at the PvP forums for inspiration. Whenever I check the forums there tends to be a big difference between the PvP forum and the rest of the forums. In the rest of the forums it tends to be fairly easy to find threads the offer constructive criticism or very occasionally genuinely inspired ideas, however, looking at the PvP forums it takes a lot more effort to find threads to get ideas and decent feedback from. I'm not saying they don't exist, just that they're much more likely to be lost/looked over when surrounded by Nerf X, get rid of vertical gear etc threads.
  23. Wait, when did the Bulwark become extinct? From my memory there are 5 different vibrosword skins, but like bliapis says, it's only the min/max damage that are changed and I believe energy and kinetic damaged are dealt with identically
  24. That always annoys me, generally when I start off I say that I'm gearing up X companion and will need only on items for them and will pass on all others. Normally this works fine, if someone says they need the gear for their main and would be polite about it I normally go along with the group anyway, if however they become hostile about I apologise to the non hostile group members and drop group.
  25. Why not just have valour as a separate requirement for adaptive armours? That way you can use either the PvE avenue of working together to attain social rank and get adaptive gear, or you can PvP and gain valour in order to get adaptive gear. This would allow the customizability (can't believe that's considered a word) of the adaptive armour for both PvP and PvE players without forcing them to do a mixture of the two to gain the greatest reward.
