I think you might be confused - Heroic Moment is the ability every class gets around....I want to say lvl 10 or lvl 14 or so. It's the ability that has a 20 min cooldown and can only be activated while you have a companion with you. It generates 3% of your max health per second (or per 3 seconds) for 1 minute. I think the heroic abilities you get can ONLY be activated DURING the Heroic Moment buff (which is what I just described above and lasts 1 min). You don't unlock Heroic Moment, it's an ability that every class gets around lvl 10 -14. I think for BH it's called something like "On the Trail" whereas for Sith Warrior or Inquisitor I think it's called "Call on the Force." Sorry I'm not too clear, but I'm at work so I don't have the game sitting open in front of me. Hopefully it makes sense though. EDIT: Too slow

(tl;dr - sometimes you can play and get nothing but the WRONG kind of drops, but I've kept on my game by keeping up with mods for orange equip and spending commendations at the end of planets for either gear or mods. Also if you have someone else to play with (friend, gf/bf, sibling), try that and play with different classes - increases the odds of getting something someone can actually use!) Sounds like the OP has it bad - I'm not in the same boat, but I CAN sympathize. My gf and I have been playing all kinds of combinations (we've each made 1 of each type of character for each faction) but we always make sure that whatever two characters we're playing, we don't have the same primary stats (ie her BH will never play with mine, but we'll use her Inquisitor instead). At any rate, I think we both have pretty good gear - mostly orange's from flashpoints and occasionally heroics (though the flashpoint gear with updated mods is usually better). We also play through a planet and then spend ALL of our commendations either on gear or on mods so I don't think we're leagues behind where we should be (like the OP sounds like (s)he is). HOWEVER, the reason we started playing different classes (if I'm on BH she's not using her BH) is that when we did that we never got ANY drops. So for example, we'd both be BH with Mako ... we're both looking for aim and cunning items right? We went through a WHOLE flashpoint (I forget, either Athiss or Hammer station) and got nothing by willpower and strength drops. I'm not exaggerating, we got ONLY willpower and strength drops - even from the big boss fellah at the end! Even when I'm on my class quest playing by myself, not in a party with her or anyone I'll get drops for the wrong class! The most recent example was a BH quest (yeah I like my BH the best so far ) in a BH instanced area as part of my story quest and I get willpower drops for all the baddies.....I mean what's the freaking point in that? At other times though (still grouped with gf) we get nothing but the CORRECT drops....it truly seems to be random, but at least it's consistent. If we start a play session getting the wrong drops, we get nothing but the wrong drops. If we started with the right drops, we'll get the right ones throughout. Sorry for the long-winded post, just had to add my 2 cents. We're not gimped like OP is, and we stay that way by keeping up with mods (mostly) through our commendation vendors, but I truly do understand the OP's frustration. And if you don't have someone else to play with (like me and my gf, or that other guy and his sister) then getting the ludicrous amount of incorrect drops that I've seen with my own eyes would be EXTREMELY frustrating.

This has to be part of a larger problem - I haven't seen it on my Sith (because it's low level), but my trooper will constantly go green from heals from Elara. After about an hour of gameplay I'm pretty much just running a green character around the world - and yeah it IS that bad. I understand that this'll take a back burner since it's not game-breaking or anything, but it's pretty lame to get all your sweet armor and have customization like the game has only to be staring at a practically solid green person running around

^ This right here - I'd love to see what you actually have on your screen. I've got 4 toons all hovering around the mid 30's. I have the right bar filled with stupid stuff and 1-time use stuff like fleet pass, mount, different cylinders for my trooper (despite the fact that I only use 1 of them) and I haven't even filled up my 2 bottom center bars with abilities yet. I even put all abilities I buy on the center bar - seriously, I haven't removed any abilities from my trooper yet and I haven't filled up those 2 bars at the bottom. I understand where you're coming from, having to flip between pages for a million abilities doesn't make for a fun experience...I just don't understand HOW you're coming from there, so a SS or something would be great for my understanding Anyway, I agree wtih some of the other posters here, thanks BW for the variety of abilities, I haven't felt overwhelmed by them at all. I HAVE noticed that I don't use certain abilities as much as I thought I would (due to the way my AC is spec'd) but that's all part of the game isn't it? Thanks for making me use my noggin when I play.

I'm sorry I don't have any thing helpful to add to this thread (as most everything I've learned/seen has already been stated). But I needed to reply and say THANK YOU for the information! I thought I had a grasp on the crafting in this game, but I really only understood the linear crafting haha no clue about the non-linear one O_o Anyway thanks again for the information, I'm bookmarking this thread right now!

Definitely /signed. I hear UI updates are in the works and I hope they at least include moveable windows, and at the very least the ability for windows to overlap one another. I don't need everything on my screen to close when my crew comes back from a mission only to report that they don't have anything to give me

I had a day of questing with my gf where she would always get green or blue gear/mods from chests, but everytime I opened it (no matter which toon I used) I would get either the pants or the gloves....I feel your pain bro. Nice ode though, I did enjoy the read!

Same exact thing happened to me in Beta - black screen but you can hear the opening cinematic, and once that's over, mouse over stuff and click but you just can't see anything. All I had to do was update my gfx drivers. I did that and re-launched and it worked just fine! I would definitely try that before you reinstall...hopefully it works. Good luck!

Not sure why being in Europe would make a difference (but I haven't exactly read a million threads on this issue so he probably knows something I dont). When you get the black screen, can you still hear stuff going on? When I first started I had a black screen but I could totally hear the cinematic going on behind it. Turns out I had to update by gfx driver. Funny that you should mention BF3 too, I was playing BF3 on full settings just fine, and then this game comes out and no black screen? You gotta be kidding me, BF3 requires much more than this game surely?! Hopefully that helps, otherwise maybe that other guy has info for you.

I seem to recall reading in another thread that there is an option in the menu (perhaps in the UI options?) that allowed you the game to do exactly what you describe, open a companion window next to your main character window that shows the stat gains/losses from changing equipment. It'd be great if someone could confirm/deny this though - I didn't know about it in beta and I haven't got my companion yet now that I'm in early access. Thanks!

So good (bad) news guys! I tried logging in now that I'm home from work (I pulled my head out of a**) and it totally worked (and I found that my IQ isn't as high as I had hoped it would be). I logged in and launched into the game (I have to wear a football helmet wherever I go from now on). The weird thing is I never got that invite e-mail from EA/Bioware I got that initial e-mail that said "Hey we're going to start sending out invites through e-mail so keep refreshing your inbox to make sure you get it!" And that's it...no second e-mail inviting me to play or anything :S Oh well, at least I'm in now I guess! Good luck to the rest of you! Hopefully they'll get almost everyone in by tomorrow/Friday! Yeah, as far as I know, that registration on the "My account" screen is for the game code of the actual game....not the pre-order early access code. When the actual game launches (20th) you'll input the code from the physical CD case (or if you got a digital edition, I hear origin will mail out codes on the 16th) So no worries mate!

^^ These are the times that make forum surfing enjoyable. Yeah I'm hoping for weekend play time. I can use my current evening time to catch up on other video games before SWTOR devours my life! I just realised that the last time I opened up the SWTOR launcher was to patch it BEFORE the early access invites went out. I haven't opened it since then because I've been waiting for an e-mail from Bioware saying that it's ok for me to play.......As soon as I get home from work I'm going to try and open it up again and see if I am able to sign in - then I'll post an update for you guys. I'm conflicted....I hope that's the case because then I get to play....but at the same time I'm really hoping it's NOT the case.....because then I'll need be required to wear a football helmet at all times

Ha! Sorry to ruin your day, I certainly didn't mean to I'll probably end up sending them an e-mail tonight asking about it - I was more curious than anything. I have the distinct feeling that I just dropped the ball rather than anything they're doing though. I'm pleased at the responses though too - with so much QQ'ing going on, it was good to read a rational post like this. Plus all this crying and complaining and threatening to quit will be forgotten...I'd say in January, but given the attention span of the current generation I'd say as soon as they get access....so guaranteed to be gone by the 20th

My acct told me July 22 but no invite for me I must have biffed it somehow

You know Equanim, I just read your post and I laughed, that is a great story. Then I all of a sudden got a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach....didn't I have issues trying to figure out the code redemption when I did it too? What if the same thing happened to me? My vacation only starts on Friday, but I'd love to play before then, I enjoyed the beta weekend. So I ran over to the "my account" section and noted that the 3rd item on the checklist (inputting a code) was blank...no check mark. "Oh Jesus" I thought "I've really done it now :(" So I run over to my e-mail, find my saved e-mail recepit from purchasing it on origin and find my digital rights code. I head over to the code redepmtion page and paste that sucker in there. Hit submit, hit verify...."Error: This code has already been used" ....wait what? I take a look at my code redemption history (on the left panel) and I did indeed register my code on July 22 when I pre-ordered the game....so what the hell is going on now?! ...that's the end of my story, I'm still sitting here at work wondering what exactly is going on. Did I mess up my code entry? If I didn't, then how come I hear of August and September people getting in but I never got my invite? But if I didn't put my code in correctly, how come it says my code has already been redeemed? Don't get my wrong, I'm not bitter about not being let in early - 1) I'm not the only one waiting, and 2) trying to make it through work knowing that SWTOR is waiting for me at home would just make the work day go even SLOWER. But I would like to know just what the heck is going on! Anyone else have a similar issue? I'm going to go and search the forums now.

I think it's been cleared up that it's a different mouse droid. To the few people saying how the CE store is accessible to everyone - it's not. $1 million credits will get you into the VIP room (it's free for CE people). But the actual CE store (that's located within the VIP lounge) is not accessible unless you have the CE of the game. Buying the bracelet to get into the VIP does NOT get you access to the CE vendor (the game tells you basically that you can't access the vendor since you don't have the CE of the game). To the best of my knowledge they are different. In the Beta I distinctly recall there being a security vendor (or a name like that, maybe authenticator vendor) and it said that I need to have an authenticator on my account to access that vendor. Later on (in the fleet station I think), I came across the same security vendor as well as a different vendor that quite plainly told me that I need to have the CE to access it. I know it's not very concrete data to go on, but that's my experience. I think I saw another post about this earlier in the day and they mentioned that as far as they knew it was 2 different vendors as well. Hope it helps!

I'm probably just some dumb kid to you guys (24 yrs old), but I'm PUMPED for this game! My girlfriend and I have been excited since we heard about it, and had a ball playing on the Beta weekend at Thanksgiving. Chances are we'll only get access on the 20th...but that just extends the period of excited waiting right? Enjoy the game when you get in!
