  1. What about it? I was responding to his desire for a game that lets you explore and go where you want as you level as opposed to being lead around on a leash. You obviously have poor perception, or haven't really looked into the game, if you think it's not doing something other games aren't right now. Typical closed minded fanboy. I was once just like you, my son... it's okay to change.
  2. Not the best post ever... but at least know you're not alone. Not the first, won't be the last. Now all the BioWare apologists and fanboys can come play.
  3. This is probably the stupidest post I have read today. They work perfectly fine in the beta, so if they get taken out before launch I'll eat my damn hat. Cling to your precious SWTOR as it spirals the toilet and ends up F2P, or worse, alongside Warhammer Online, neglected and existing in MMO-undeath.
  4. Oh, I tried... I attended the guild summit. I corresponded with certain BioWare employees via e-mail. Nothing ever came of it, and eventually "the silence" fell upon us all. I'm done now and just riding out the last couple of weeks on my account from my initial six-month subscription purchase that I wholly regret. BioWare had a lot of really dedicated fans and hardcore players that they neglected and drove off; my guild included.
  5. You won't get that here. Guild Wars 2 has it at launch, though. Tarnished Coast is going to be the unofficial RP server over there. Have more fun not playing SWTOR!
  6. The janitor is running the show. He's the only one left.
  7. Of course not. The terminology is just a carry-over from our early days. For instance, I came from the guild 10th in the US to down Kil'Jaeden. I'd say we were pretty hardcore. There is nothing hardcore about this game, you're right. That's probably a big reason why we bled members off consistently from January until now. Aside from the snarky tone I detected in your post (and my apologies if I'm wrong about that), you make good points. They're pretty much why all the guilds that like to be challenged are gone now, or soon to be. SWTOR will just end up another F2P title for casual gamers. It might finally turn some profit for BioWare/EA, but from a gamer's standpoint, it's really sad.
  8. Yet another thing OP does not understand. Maybe there's a forum he can go to for complaining about char-limits.
  9. Yeah, I sit outside my local K-mart with a big sign that says "HEY IDIOTS, GO TO THE TOR FORUMS!" When you're dealing with idiots, yes, it's difficult to give mature answers.
  10. Tharan Cedrax (consular companion) uses his hologram pal Holiday to temporarily mezz enemies. It's used quite a lot in any particular fight. Scrub alert was directed at the OP, not you btw.
  11. Not going to happen. Guild Wars 2 does this though and is far more enjoyable than SWTOR at this point. I recommend unsubbing/uninstalling and heading that-a-way.
  12. Scrub alert! It's not the CE holo-dancer, genius. It's Holiday.
  13. Shhhh... don't harsh his buzz. He's had a bit too much of the Kool-Aid.
  14. Tip #1: Unsubscribe and uninstall. Tip #2: For Battle for Ilum, just have DPS mop up the weaks. It is spread out a bit too much and kind of a ***** to round up, but doable. Make good use of your longer range abilities to pick up the distant mobs, like sticky grenade or even just regular old hammer shot. Quite frankly, one or two hammer shots is enough to keep a mob on you versus purely healing aggro. Like I wrote in another thread... mortar volley any tight groups, storm, harpoon a mob to bring it in closer, use your two free explosive surges, use sticky grenade/hammer shot or even aoe/single target taunt on mobs you cant get to immediately, pulse cannon the group in front of you, then focus on target order with single target rotation.
  15. Whatever. You're still doing it wrong.
  16. No. Your "friend" is just an idiot and rolled on the wrong server, or you can't spell.
  17. Fair point, well stated. I guess that's what we're going to attempt to some degree with GW2. Still, hardcore debate aside, developers should be trying to introduce content at shorter intervals. It's not just the hardcore they lose if they don't have the content to keep people interested; they lose the semi-hardcore and casuals as well. In fact, I'd hazard to guess that they lose MORE casuals that way than the really hardcore.
  18. Special character *are* allowed. Name your character Willìam Rähl, be unoriginal as ****, and quit ************. That's alt-141 for the ì and alt-132 for the ä btw. You're welcome, I'll accept your payment via PayPal.
  19. Take that HK robot and stick it up your *** BioWare!
  20. Honestly? If we added the time we spent on the PTS with the first two encounters to our total time spent when the patch went live.... we'd still have finished on Friday night, just later. BioWare never made content for decently skilled players. They made content for casuals, and yet the casuals still cry that it's too hard. Nightmare should have been priority #1 FROM day #1.
  21. Slowly shaving skin from my phallus with a broken shard of glass. Rectal insertion of foreign objects. Working for Bioware.... ehhh, on second though, I wouldn't go that far.
  22. Best tip I can offer you is to unsubscribe and uninstall the game. Other than that? Start with mortar volley on a clustered group, storm in, use harpoon to bring in any distant ranged-type mob, explosive surge twice since they're free now, maybe toss in a third for good measure, pulse cannon, then go to town on your primary target. If for some reason there's *still* a mob out of range, taunt it to bring it in. Any leftovers should be melee types, since any ranged should've been your storm and/or harpoon targets.
