Here's the thing. I want to play a Miraluka Gunslinger....blind gunfighter has been what I've wanted since pre-launch. With the legacy options now available, I can do this. But I have to level up a Miraluka to 50 first. My question is, which AC/spec would be the fastest to grind to 50. I don't care about the story, or really even the class in general. Just want the fastest to level so I can finally roll my ACTUAL main.

Pure lightning is closest. You have afflic to recast every 21secs. Crushing Darkness isn't a DoT in my mind. It's just a CD ability that happens to deliver damage over time. So tap it on CD (15secs?) and that's it. The only one that needs to be watched is afflic for your barrage procs.

Revel has worked best for me so far. Currently 35, just finished act 1. Pure lightning build. Shield myself, Open with CL (against groups, CD/afflic for strong+) and nuke everything down. Revel in AoE mode helps me mop up everything nice and quick like.

Optimal hell, you can pry my ball lightning from my cold dead fingers......Umm. You know, when I actually hit 40 and GET my ball lightning.

Just hit my 30s as a full lightning spec sorc. I use Revel as a companion and rarely die. Just took 2 elites in the tunnel on tatooine for the willpower datacron actually. The way I fight normal groups is to have Revel in AoE mode. Groups of 3+ standard mobs, forget the dots. Just open with chain lightning, a good couple crits and even a fork proc can knock out 1 or 2 easily if youre lucky, then just lightning strike spam down from there. And of course, CL procs are a beautiful thing. If there is a strong in the group. Open with crushing/affliction on the strong, then LS spam and react to procs as normal (be sure to interrupt and throw a stun in there for good measure). Any weak mobs in the group die from splash from myself and Revel. Elites you should always try to fight alone. Whirlwind em and kill the weak mobs if they're present. Otherwise, I just follow the same pattern as the strongs, making sure to refresh crushing/afflic as needed. Oh, and ALWAYS start a fight by throwing up your static shield and renewing when possible.

Everything in the story arc should be soloable. Did this quest both as a lightning sorc, and as a tankasin. Didn't do anything fancy like dragging mobs around to barrels or anything like that, just stood and tank n spanked. Used the AoE knockback on the adds when they popped. Had to use CDs and a medpack, but other than that, no issues.

On a personal note, I wish the 10sec CD on Barrage and Force Lightning(?) were gone and the proc rate adjusted to balance it out. The 10sec CD makes to too *rotationy* for me. I like proc reactions and a twitch style of combat over debuff mangement or a long drawn out rotation....WoW's frost mage is my favorite caster so far in an MMO.

Buffing the base damage still doesn't allow it to scale with crit rating though.

In order for auto crit abilities to scale with crit, why not have them convert crit rating to surge at a reduced rate? Will still allow them to scale with the stat without having it be 200% dmg or some such nonsense.
