  1. This is very good advice. (I just recently came back, Finnish, do the changes they made awhile back to CC not being broken by AoE also apply to that ability? I would assume so, which makes it rather awesome if this is the case.) Another thing to bear in mind is smart timing. If you see you're about to be heading into a big group and your Deflection is down or you're not wanting to use it for some reason, re-pop your Dark Ward and wait a few seconds before charging in, so that if your charges get used up a few seconds in you won't have to wait on the cooldown to finish in the meantime-- it already will have by then, making it safely re-applicable.
  2. I would personally swap two points out of the Endurance talent and put them into the Thrashing Blades talent on Darkness' first tier. If you're Thrashing/Lacerating something(s), especially in order to proc an Energize, you may as well get that much more damage out of the ability's usage as well. Not to mention that the amount of HP you gain from the Endurance talent is rather negligible. Other than that, though, it looks solid.
  3. I cannot wait for new things in space combat. Even if guild capital ships are never a part of it, it would still be exciting to see the potential behind this explored further. Also, while I see the point about people being ***hats if they don't have to group with folks from their own server, I've also encountered many a fun group with people I'd never had met without a cross-queue, so if they want to do it that way it'll get my vote, though I don't feel the need to push for it. They still want new functions and to not feel like their request is going to be swallowed up instantly by other people in this case. Know what else helps with that? Keeping your bloody Trade comments and requests on the Trade channel like it was intended instead of having EVERYTHING on General. Next you'll start hearing it clogged with Chuck Norris jokes all over the Fleet. It isn't a hard concept to grasp, typing that little /2 beforehand.
  4. A Darkness Assassin, beyond grabbing shield rating, absorption and defense rating, should take Surge if possible. Energize gives you a guaranteed crit on Shock, which has a threat modifier from talents as well. Therefore, if Shock has a 100% crit chance from Energize, Surge rating will only further empower its damage and thus your single target threat. Don't forget to abuse Recklessness also! My Shock at level 31 hits for over a thousand damage before I ever hit my Surge trinket.
  5. Who said anything about wasting the ability on a group of two? What I'm saying is if they want it to have a Force cost nearly half of your bar, give it a LITTLE more than what Thrash reads out to be. And considering that by the time it does that much damage, everyone else not only has AoE just as strong if not more so, but can do them with less of a resource drain? Edit: Also, before you tell me it's only 30 Force talented, I'm a Pre-Wither Tankassin, so that doesn't apply to me.
  6. I have noticed the lack of a true difference in Shock as well. I also agree that Lacerate's damage is a bit lackluster for it's cost.
  7. Re-posting to give my approval to the thread once more. Here's to hoping solutions can be worked out.
  8. I noticed that changing my game window from fullscreen to a windowed setting DID help me tremendously. I'm not saying the problem is gone, but it's much more manageable. This may help some of you out until the problem is properly addressed.
  9. People going for containers above their level isnt a crime. Farming them *For the intention of selling credits to other gamers in exchange for actual money* is. Please learn the difference in what is being posted. Ignore the crybabies in here. Thanks for the post, Stephen. I'm damn glad to know that farmers are actively being punished from the beginning. Last thing I want is a message every five minutes from someone offering to sell me credits or powerleveling.
  10. Try a Shadow Priest, mate. I had so much Haste in Wrath that Bloodlust//Heroism didn't even give me it's full benefit. SWToR would load it's pants if it tried keeping up with what I used to do on that.
  11. Exactly my point. Thank you. You shouldnt wait for an animation to finish before your instant hits, because it is not instant then. It just has a hidden cast bar. There's an obvious difference.
  12. Then it is not instant. There are no "instant-instant" and "instant after a 1.5 second animation". It's either instant or it's not. So apparently it doesn't support a concept of proper english wording in this case.
  13. Because they're not capable of handling it. They're the same people who came here from WoW and left it primarily because of how responsive and fluid it was-- they weren't able to keep up and were informed that they were bad players. Butthurt ensued, and here we stand today defending the slower responses so as to level the playing field with people that can't keep up. THAT is why they want that.
  14. Don't feed the trolls, Xcore. If they don't get responses they go away.
  15. I tried EQ1 a few years ago, to see what it was like. The newbie training area before you EVER even get out into the actual world with everyone: 1) Had graphical bugs. 2) Had quests I could not complete because the NPCs would not properly respond to me in acknowledgment of having done everything the quest required. 3) Had more lag than the first city with other players running around in had by a noticeable degree. And I stopped at that point. Because if the place where people are being SHOWCASED the game has uncompleteable quests and graphic issues, what is the REST of the game going to be like? Accepting glaring flaws does not make them go away or make them anything but glaring flaws, mate. That is, by definition, a failure. Then again, it's Sony. I'm rather confident at this point they are where games go to die.
  16. I'm not, mate. It just tickles sometimes how a funny offhand comment can become THIS ISN'T WHAT WE'RE TALKING ABOUT GNASHGNASHGNASH. Though, to be fair, some probably havent seen the participation of the previous threads like we have, also. I'm just as guilty of needing to keep things in perspective.
  17. Let me make this clear-- Xcore mentioned the looting bug (kneeling for an hour), so I mentioned what I did. I am not making comparisons of SWToR of now versus WoW of 7 years ago. COMPLETELY different thing. Please don't take this out of context.
  18. I know, I've followed it since the first posting. I was just bringing it up to him since he mentioned something similar and it made me laugh.
  19. Oh man, Xcore, I completely forgot to mention-- do you recall when people tried to go to WoW's AQ raid? Enjoy having your ship disappear entirely requiring you to remake the trip! Or have the entire boat wind up in the side of a freaking MOUNTAIN. Yup.
  20. Don't get me wrong-- the Voice Acting was a major selling point of this game and I understand fully their desire to get that out so they arent saying "Hurp this is all voice acted but only half of it works right now when that's what a lot of our money went into." But considering the fact that we DID, in fact, have Bioware response on the second incarnation on page 122, I believe it was, it's safe to say it's going to get the attention it deserves. I say this because I didn't even catch it until Fallevirtues pointed it out about 20 pages later. Thank you, mate! Also-- I am likely the only one of my guild right now to really read the forums, yet all of us have mentioned this in one form or another, so there's another 20 people for you who are experiencing it for those who want to cry "Hoax".
  21. Fair enough! Although I'm rather certain I've seen other posts on here from folks saying they've used it and it's given them a flat 20% Alacrity, not 20% of their CURRENT Alacrity. I remember it from another discussion of whether or not GCD is affected by Alacrity as well as HoTs//DoTs. Edit: Or maybe it was THIS bloody thread and my memory is atrocious.
  22. Considering the talent itself says it grants 20% alacrity rather than reducing the cast time of X spell, isn't this splitting hairs? It almost looks like you're saying "Something that makes me swing my axe faster isn't the same thing as something that makes me able to act more quickly". Both stem from pure Alacrity stat. All that matters is how much of it, and the talent's case is a pure 20% regardless. So if Alacrity affects the GCD, then there you go. And if it doesn't, then again there you go. The way you word it almost makes it sound like the talent and the stat itself are different entities, and they aren't. Also, I remember EJ telling Shadow Priests to not stack Haste as a top priority in Wrath. Yet no other Priest on my server could ultimately keep up, and this was with folks who had better gear to boot. Not a single time would they even match me, much less surpass me, with what EJ told them to do. Never think that they're always right without fail. They are, like anyone or thing else, a group of opinions, and if everyone listened to those all the time without fail the forums would have about 60% less posts due to lack of arguments.
  23. There is the Madness tree, too, you know. You'll still get Force Storm regardless for group mobs, and this way you won't feel like the whole time you're fighting a boss that you're trying to be Electro. In fact, I've devised a build that allows for Chain Lightning as well while still having a lot of talented oomph for boss encounters. It doesnt allow either final point talent to be taken in the trees, but unless I'm mistaken neither one is doing terribly much more damage than what you get at earlier levels anyway. Please feel free to disprove me on this if I am incorrect, and I will make changes wherever necessary-- I am merely going on what I see thus far.
  24. I have read nearly everything in this thread and the thread before it, before putting in my own bit. This took the better part of a day and a half between having my companion do Slicing//tab back out to read. I finally caught up to the growing pages. I wanted to thank everyone who attempted to add information to this listed issue-- even if some of you come off hostile while doing so. I'd also like to thank a few of the trolls for a lot of good laughs. It was entertaining to break the constant post perusing. I experienced this firstly on my own Sorcerer. I tend to try chaining spells together-- Crushing Darkness to Affliction, Force Lightning//Lightning Strike to Shock-- and sometimes it would work. Sometimes it would not. Glad to see I was FAR from the only one. I am in fact going to be upgrading my video card soon-- an 8600 GTS GeForce isn't really cutting it so much anymore. (I've 8 GB of RAM so I'm sure that's fine) Anyway. Big thanks to Xcore and everyone else that took time trying to examine what issues existed for this problem and what might solve them. Even when arguments arose, it progressed, and that's a telling thing when spanned across....350+ pages.
