  1. Have you done the mission: Facing the Machines of War? It is available for me on the factions daily terminal for that character.
  2. Search for: client_settings.ini It should be deep in your Users folder.
  3. It may be actually launching but not visible due to a config error which would explain it working in safe mode since that uses display defaults. Try deleting (or renaming) the config file so it recreates a new default one.
  4. People complaining like it's that big a deal that the notes were wrong for several hours. And no the roadmap doesn't count because that's not to be taken as set in stone. Or is it just that I've got one of each class/mirror to 300 and thus not affected?
  5. I've been playing at about 6000 x 2000 (windowed across 3 4k monitors) and have no issues. It kind of depends how small you are willing to put up with the UI since it only scales so much.
  6. Bolster should be only as high as required to prevent those entering with lesser gear from being completely without the ability to compete. No one should ever be bolstered near the top. That makes gear progression meaningless. If players want the best gear performance, they should be willing to put in the effort to earn it. 238 seems adequate, but 240 would be okay since it is really so easy to get to that level of gear anyway.
  7. Do the first first mission of the second story - KOTET (more accurately, just start it) and all will be better for you.
  8. Apparently because you still play it. You wouldn't really care if the servers were up or down otherwise, would you?
  9. Clearly they don't want you to be able to both sets of dailies. Edit: or maybe it's not so clear.
  10. Where is the idea coming from that the two faction choices are Imp or Pub? I haven't seen anything saying that and the statement that you can earn reputation with the faction would seem to indicate otherwise. It would seem to function more like Faction X and Faction Y even if for some inexplicable reason they chose to call the Imp and Pub for this story also.
  11. Not really sure how you people are figuring, but CXP has made me less inclined to be playing my mains rather than more. Once they hit 300 CXP I play them less and am much more likely to play and work toward increasing the CXP level of a different alt. I suppose this could all change with 5.2, but other than playing mains for a while until the new tier of gear is obtained, I doubt it. Most players play their most advanced toon for a few things, and for everything else they play ones that have more advancing to do. CXP doesn't seem any different. Edit: I just realized you may be PvP'ers which changes things. I do PvP, but it's only a small part of gameplay. I do see that being something more likely to be done by mains currently (if not in the past also). However, since components are more the issue causing this than CXP, it's different.
  12. If the "how" to meet players wanting components to be available to their legacy was to make them legacy wide, no "looking at how to address that" would be required. They could just make them legacy wide which thay can easily already do. Instead, even though that would accomplish it, they clearly don't want to (or maybe even plan) to make them legacy wide and are thus "looking at how to address" the players wanting "components being available to your legacy". They may address it by saying we've decided to leave them as they are and not do what some players want. It wouldn't be the first time this is how they addressed something players want.
  13. Have you tested your hard drive? Also, if you want to get any new hardware, get an SSD. There's really no good reason for a gamer to be using an obsolete style drive these days.
  14. I'm not sure if you're purposing trying to be negative for no reason or are just that upset over loosing several low level mods and ehhancements. There is no reason anyone would delete legendary armorings with a set bonus unless they were sure they wanted to. And now you can get the bonus on any armor you want because it's now tied to the armoring. Also, the armor is actually useful in a non exploitive way since it can now be used like any other legacy armor. Pros of the change definitely outway the cons.
  15. This sounds like something someone could get now and use after the event to prevent getting any XP at all should they choose.
  16. Think of Dark vs Light as an event and when over at the end of the month the only impact will be that you missed it. So existing character is fine to rejoin and enjoy the game. However, if you want to start a new character to get back into the swing or whatever, then now is still the perfect time for that while the event is still going on.
  17. You're the one who was claiming that progression raiders aren't looking for a challenge if they don't have to, not casuals. Or are you suggesting there is another class of players we could call: casual progression raiders who you refer to as lazy and will no longer be progression raiders with this change?
  18. Seems a stretch too far to complain that no one will have to do content that you imply they don't want to do except to get gear they can only get from it. If they truly don't want to do it, then not requiring them to do it should not be seen as a bad thing. Now if the worry is that it will be harder to get a group for those who want to do it because there will no longer be those joining in who only do it for gear even though they dislike doing it, understood.
  19. Why do some keep assuming that HM/NiM OPs will be the most difficult content in 5.0, or have they heard something I haven't? Given equal difficulty settings, I have mostly found it easier to do things in a group than solo. Depending on the content and tunings per group size it can work either way however. For example some 4-man HM content would easily "require" higher gear than some 8-man HM content, but most is currently the other way around, although it doesn't need to be. One could also imagine solo content that "requires' the best gear in game to complete while no group content requires it. Not to suggest that's a good idea. But if their giving solo players access to the best gear, there at least might be a reason.
  20. Doesn't a player going to stronghold for the first time end up in a diiferent location than the normal entry location following the intro cinematic? Either would need a toon that hasn't been there before (may need to create new one) or to login on a computer that you haven't played on before or edit the appropriate setting/info file so it doesn't show your toon as having been there.
  21. It's not processor intensive at all either. Well not unless you have a crap processor. The only reasonable limiter anyone with anywhere near a decent computer would see is because they haven't figured out that all current computers should be using SSD's. Or they are operating on a poor internet connection which unfortunately some people can't do anything about; but those that can, should.
  22. I could give a damn about getting the achievement except the achievement comes with rewards. Rewards which apparently are going to cost more in the future than what is currently stated for the achievement. And, the game should be authoritative, not some blog which surely wasn't being very clear about what was required for each specific achievement. The blog after all referred to tiers, not achievements.
  23. No where in that blog which starts: "Below you will find each objective required to complete the Legendary Tier of the Dark vs. Light event." does it say that you have to complete the Legendary Tier to qualify for the Legend achievement. While I can accept that it was a bug that all the Legendary achievements were supposed to be included and not something they're adding after the fact, it is poor form. No where is there any indication that there can't be other Legendary achievements available that are not part of the requirements for the Legend achievement.
  24. Wait, so you're increasing the requirements for an achievement - especially one that requires so much effort - after the fact. Why should we have assumed that the requirements for "Dark vs. Light: Legend" were more than what was listed? Why even list the requirements if it's not even supposed to be a complete list? You could have at least posted something sooner before players were so far though it.
