I want Blizz to come back and be my companion again. Why do I have to wait until you release all of the male companions first, then the female (that is another thread) and the cool little alien that is arguably the best original companion on release of the game is still lost in space. It's revolting.

To me, the emperor was always analogous to the story until KOTFE. Sure there were whispers of him but as a force in the class missions he was just absent. Your point is taken, but did the tiger really change his stripes? we really don't know yet. I suspect we won't know even after KOTET.

As the player, I should be making the choices that matter: especially if it is advertised in that manner.

It's an example of a choice that matters. Since we are dealing with republics and empires, crossing the Rubicon serves the purpose of illustrating a choice that matters. As far as the rest of your post, it just takes imagination.

Chapters 1-16: Choice is a lie. Here is an example of a choice that matters: Caesar at the Rubicon......if he stays on his side, following the orders of the Senate, the Roman Republic survives. Instead, he crosses the Rubicon, defying the Senate, the Roman Empire is born. We should have been able to kill Arcann at the end of 16. Despite the need to have the subtheme of redemption (i.e. Ep. 6), Vaylin still could have partnered with Scorpio and the story could continue ad infinitum. Instead the only choice the players had was to hurt Koth's feelings so he would runaway only to return and steal the Gravestone. Nuts. There were some shining moments in the chapters that were enjoyable. However, being told that your choices matter again when they actually don't is bogus. SWTOR choice is a lie.

Oh.....so your choices mattered? Well, according to the OP, at least one of his/her points was that your choices didn't matter. Koth did not steal the Gravestone for me either.

Searching for an end date to this event has rendered no posts and searching the website is the same. What is the last day of the Light v Dark event?

In terms of the type of companion, I maxed out dark side through conversation. If I use diplomacy to gain light, then I will complete the cheevo but not influence the overall choice for all players (except for dark alignment which I got via conversation)? In other words, my light alignment will not go to the overall count for all players, only my dark alignment would be counted.

For the DvL event, are we able to use Diplomacy to gain alignment?

I read that to participate in D v. L you need to create a lvl 1 character. I get the option to create a lvl 60 toon (I have not made a character in a very long time). Am I correct to presume that when they say lvl 1 they mean lvl 1 and the character creation screen option to start at 60 means that you cannot participate in D v. L even though it is a new character created after June 28th?

I guess people have a higher expectation for their subscription. If you have played this game for any length of time you have already done the things they want you to do for the light/dark event. Maybe some people are raging but for the most part this is a weak attempt at content and people have voiced their opinions.
