  1. I find it hilarious that people say this will make the voidstar games un cappable, and the side node on ACW un cappable too. Yes people will spawn with their stun breaker, which let you break free from one stun from one player. Concidering almost every class has 2 to 3 stuns i really don't see this being a major problem at all people just like being dramatic. The only thing this means is it will be harder to cap something by yourself, it means 1vs1 you cant count on stunlocking giving you an eazy win. 1 vs 1 will be about knowing when to use stun break, not do i have one and he doesn't. Yes taking a node solo will be harder, but guess what? You are on a team. Try using

    Teamwork

What has been frustrating in Vs testing is that the days of having the *chance* of stun locking a group of people coming out from the door after wiping a group and capping the node are gone.

This is the only spot where I feel that pvp will be impacted negatively in terms of not maintaining the status quo.... But these situations can still be overcome.

  2. Bolster helps you to compete against seasoned players while you're just starting.

@55....Over time, as you gear up with pvp gear, the expertise buff will compliment the expertise gained by gear until your expertise is capped via pvp gear (currently @ 2018) so as to bring you to a point where your pvp gear gives you better stats and expertise than that of a player that is going through the gearing process you just completed.

@ the lower levels, some would argue that you're best advised to keep the best non pvp (pve) gear you have and let bolster do the expertise work. The idea here seems sound because you will eventually phase whatever lower level PvP gear there is out (available on DK) with your >20 and >40 pve gear, not to mention the 55 PvP gear mentioned above.

  3.

    [.....]

In a proper development environment you would have 1-2 guys who would Design the maps, 1-2 guys who would focus on creating the new equipment, 1-2 guys that would focus on class balancing. A proper development environment would have between 3 and 6 developers who are focused on this one aspect of the game. Instead we have 1 guy who has to cover the job of up to 6 people. I am pretty sure they don't have 1 guy who creates the new Ops instance, as well as puts all of the gear into the game, as well as creates the boss mechanics, as well as creates the npc animations for the Voice Over, so Why does PvP have 1 guy.

And before you go all high and mighty developer on me, the company I work for just hired 4 new software developers, 2 of them focus on application integration, 1 focuses on visual aesthetics, 1 focuses on functionality. Now if we were to take on the Bioware model, we would just hire 1 guy and tell him to make it happen.

I've considered this already earlier in the thread.

You're right, Op is simply exposing him or herself as someone who has no clue about what it takes to develop in the gaming industry.

Contextually, it would seem that the team is one deep by the connection made by the two dev posts.

But in reality, we're talking about massive documentation requirements on new system deigns... Art assets creation , project managers, contracted coders, code review sessions, brainstorming sessions with producers and architecture teams, daily stand up meetings, server capacity and performance testing tasks sound assets, approval boards etc

Not to mention QA and multiple iterations and changes based upon internal testing results.

One person alone cannot do all of that... Period. This comment is being taken out of context, and at best, the comment from the class designer is unfortunately narrow in scope so as not to include all of many facets of the development process.

As developers we know it's straight up impossible to take on what was done in 2.0 by itself regarding pvp and class balance and skill tree redesign.

I'm offering.. With my objection to this 2+2=4 argument... That there is more to the story. And my source, like yours, is personal experience.

  4. I never said the PvP team was one person, so continue on with RC fail.

So you work in game development, and abuse an issue not intended, and also think nobody would ever use /stuck to reset their CC break.

Lemme guess, you work for this game, amirite? This is why PvP updates fail, cause players like you are completely useless when it comes to bridging a gap for quality improvement between development and player feedback. The only thing you've shown me, is you are completely incompetent in regards to the /stuck issue.

With my #1 I was referring to Yodawizard.....who is saying that... And you quoted him... So yes, RC achieved by me, not sure if by you however.

Again, twisting my words. Players will use stuck to reset cc break but will find after doing so that it is stupid because the negative impacts of doing so far outweigh the ability reset. RC failed by you again. If I'm so wrong why don't you explain why instead of continuing your personal attacks. Seems to me that there isn't sufficient enough information available to you to do so...... A classic logical fallacy.

Incompetent forum warriors speak of mechanics they don't test themselves, they whine ***** and moan without the slightest bit of objectivity or consideration for players with opinions that oppose their own, and they post narrow minded out of context points that perpetuate a pattern of unobjective disingenuous feedback that removes attention from constructive feedback.

For the record I am not an Ea or bw employee. I am simply a game developer.

  5. He also thinks nobody would purposefully /stuck, cause that wouldn't help the team at all in Rankeds.

    2+2 = 5(a+3); 3.14

    1. I work in game development and know for a fact that there is 0% chance that the PvP team is literally one person. Don't consider my evidence for this at all, please continue to focus on what you WANT to think.
    2. I stuck all the time in pugs not to mention rated. But it's stupid to think one would do this simply to reset a stun break ability. Take my post out of context more please.

  6. Did you just start playing this game or something? I mean bolster should have been enough to learn that changes on the PTS will go into live no matter how bad they are and even though the overwhelming majority of the community is against it.

    No testing required...

People are just sick of the dev justification for something that no one asked for. The philosophy tends to be swing for the fences with two strikes, when it should be going oppo, and advancing the runner...

How about you try adjusting the break first... Babysteps....

I have tested the cc break on death and I want someone else who has to step and offer up their opinion as well.

I am also curious about battle rez as I have not considered that in my testing.

Oh and surprise.... I like where bolster is at right now but do agree that the dumb augment exploit should have been dealt with before live.

  7. I am in a PVP guild.

I can tell you right now that members of my guild have already discussed the idea of using /stuck + battle rez to exploit the change to CC break cooldown. I believe some of us have already done this on the PTS too.

I am admittedly curious about how battle rez would change this situation.

  8. I don't need the PTS to understand I can abuse /stuck over and over to rest my CC breaker.

When/if you partake in Rankeds, this becomes a game changer, and for the worse.

/Stuck is my only issue atm, and they clearly stated today they will "monitor the situation", which further tells me they haven't paid attention to said issue in over 16 months. Since they have decided not to remove the /stuck command from WZ's, it is without a doubt one of the top 5 dumbest updates in PvP since day 1.

That's not a knee jerk reaction, that is fact, in which it cannot be disputed logically.

    Thank you.

Lol, "using it over and over" is just not possible or productive use of time in a Rated.

Voluntarily taking one's self out of the fight just to unlock the break is an overblown concept. The person is of better use soaking up heals or soaking up damage and dying so that the damage isn't more quickly refocused... Stucking when stunned after your break has been used is effectively killing your team faster and doesn't help you or your team, it helps the opposition plow through your team more quickly.

If you're stucking to help yourself for that stupid purpose you should be off the team.... Not to mention the 2 minute cool down on stuck in the first place, which really renders this point moot.

The only fact is that you haven't tested it to even come close to providing evidence for your accusations.

    Everything is hypothesis until tested.

  9. Do you understand the repercussions that come with this change?

Can you explain why you think it's a good idea?

    Thanks.

I strongly believe that the repercussions are being overstated because my experience with this on PTS contradicts most of the end of skill based pvp claims people are claiming, and would absolutely LOVE to see your opinion after going on to PTS and actually testing it.

The only piece I am concerned with are the speeder bikes on ACW but that effect has been hard to test since we can't choose the wz.

I will challenge everyone here to consider your opinion of stun break being like this from day 1.

Imo this is just a bunch of people thinking they know best when really their minds are inherently resistant to change.

The best players who know better will adapt and l2p anyway.

Test it, form your opinion objectively, express it, in that order.

All I see in this subject and the development time for PvP issue (2.4 crying) is a bunch of knee jerk qqing. Since I happen to know what it takes to develop in a fast paced and highly critical environment... I know for a fact that these guys need some encouragement from somewhere.

  10. This just doesn't make sense, how can ONE dude being doing all the implementation????!

You're right, Op is simply exposing him or herself as someone who has no clue about what it takes to develop in the gaming industry.

  11. I wish I played more to help make this happen.... But for those of us who are online infrequently, I think it would be a better idea to start establishing hot spots that are either separated from quest areas or in the middle of them so that pot5players have a great "go to" spot to count on open world PvP always being live.

Section X or some new spot on Makeb comes to mind.... Preferably some place with platforming and choke points.

  12. inorite?! Doesn't Eric understand "tomorrow" means he needs to have it ready to post when he wakes up?! I'd actually think he'd have it remotely posted at midnight...

Lol, don't get me wrong, I actually really liked the most recent patch, my warrior has never looked better ... But with the potential for there to be info on pvp updates.. I'm beyond excited for what's next.

  13. yo Iriquois what up, its been a very long time since ive seen your name. I use to play on Chillastra was part of the guild UGD with Aarong and Akrik and company. I think the name of my toon was either Artamis, Artymas or what ever or Anacen

Yo! Good to see ya. Hopefully will be against you in WZ again soon ;p

  14. I only have time to run pvp dailies(barely) ,... And queues pop so often (good thing) that it's hard to really run dailies in between.

After Aug kits and augs AND the cost of adding the Aug kits to armor (ridiculous) I only have 3k. (this is only for 6 gear pieces and they're only blue augs, not even the full set. My credits for this project were funded by selling crystal schems from cartel packs.

Maybe my selling cartel packs on the gtn will net me enough to finish the armor.

Screw spending cc in order to get in game credits though. I need another solution during my gear grind.
