  1. The +15% crit comes from having only two pieces of PvE gear which means you are only losing two pieces with expertise. Even in full Battlemaster gear two pieces is less than 2% expertise, a far cry from the 15% you sited. You will still have ~11-12% expertise on your gear, you will get the crazy stats from Rikata and you will get the set bonus. For mercs this bonus is well worth it since you are opening with 3 tracers missles to build your debuff on them pretty much every time. I can not speak for other DPS set bonuses as I have not seen them. Full Rikata is fail for PvP but a carefully evaluated and planned mix of PvP and Rikata gear is definitely something to look into.
  2. I am wondering if the Ilum valor buff is broken or working as intended. Here is why.... Sometimes I will be in ilum and help capture one base while others are capping others , we will control 4/5 objectives and the buff will only show 2 or 3. When I que into a warzone, from ilum mind you , when I return to ilum the buff is gone , even though it had plenty of time left. It also does not come back , especially if my faction controls all of ilum since I cant go and cap something to get it back. Should the ilum buff be put on your character upon entering ilum , based on what your faction already controls? If this is the case , it is definitely not working the way it should. Someone please shed some light on the situation, do you have to actively capture an objective to get the buff? Do you need to be part of the capture of each base to get the full x5 buff? Should the buff remain on me for the full duration and not a single warzone? Sometimes it seems to just pop up on me whether or not I helped with the objectives , other times it does not. Edit - This very moment I am in ilum , we control all 5 objectives and my buff only shows x1. It doesn't seem right that you can't have other members of your ops group cap objectives while you cap others and still have everyone get the full x5 buff, or whatever amount you have captured.
  3. I was actually about to create a thread for this myself. The game absolutely needs a penalty for abandoning an in progress warzone. People abandon warzones constantly on the losing side because many of them are just trying to get their 3 wins per day(or 9 per week) for their gear bag and nothing more so when they see they are losing , its easier and faster to just reque. Here are several reasons why an abandonment penalty is necessary... 1. Shortened Que Times. Here is why, Person A gets into his warzone , realizes its losing and then quits and reques. Person B enters the losing warzone realizes it losing , quits and reques. The cycle continues untill someone either has the guts to stay or just stays cause it is almost over and will get basically free credits/valor/xp/comm no matter how little. The whole time this one warzone is running no one is actually being taken out of que. the people leaving and requing are just creating longer ques for the people who stay till the end , win or lose. 2. It forces people to work as a team and not just give up and reque hoping for a better matchup. This provides for a better PvP experience for everyone. 3. It makes the losing team have no chance at all to come back (unless they get some really lucky fill ins) because people zone in , fight for 30seconds , then quit. The new person has to travel to the battle 30seconds min , is most likely without any buffs, has no idea on how the battle has been flowing or what strategy that team is trying to use. 4. It would lessen the chance on a solo que'd player entering a lost cause warzone. Solo Que'd players have the hardest time completing daily and weekly pvp quests and the main reason is getting thrown into losing warzones one after the other. An alternative to the abandonment penalty would be to change the daily and weekly from wins to completions. Maybe raise it to 4 or 5 completions every day and 12-15 a week. Honestly this might be the best route for everyone since I am sure there are some unbalanced servers where people find it takes days to get just 3 wins even if they stick out everyone till the very end. It would also give people incentive to stay in a losing warzone and try to turn it around. It would certainly lessen the number of people who just leave losing warzones. There are many other reasons I have heard from various players that I just can not bring to mind right now. Please add your reasons and thoughts to this thread so Bioware will add some form of penalty in a future patch.
  4. This is a way bigger problem than the pre-made groups. There absolutely needs to be a deserter penalty for people who leave a warzone in progress. Many people are not playing for valor or battlemaster but want their daily/weekly gear bags anyway. These people who are only looking for 3 warzone wins drop group the instant they start losing. I have entered easily 100+ losing warzones, some get turned around , others do not. I would imagine this has to be hurting que times as well. Person A ques , group starts losing , he quits and reques. Person B gets his spot in the losing group and does the same thing , now Person A and Person B are both in the que again with no penalty for just deserting the warzone and without spending the 8-15minutes in the warzone unqued allowing others players in que to enter a WZ or que ahead of them. This keeps repeating untill someone decides to stay. I have been in warzones with 30+ players listed on the score sheet at the end of the game, assuming the other team had maybe 9 of them at the most , thats more than 2 full groups cycling in and out of this one losing warzone.
  5. Well I 100% agree that we need a Ranked Bracket. The ranked bracket would give Serious 50 PvPers something to brag about and an actual challenge rather than just steam rolling undergeared PUG groups. It would def reduce the amount of pre-mades in the groups with fresh 50s, However I don't see this being a problem. As many have said before me , this is an MMO. Make some friends , learn from them or teach them, and que warzones together. There is a very large Republic guild on my server that runs premades all day every day. I find that If I get one or two decent players in the que with me , by luck or by pre grouping, We win at least half the matches. As for you insisting people must be using voice chat to target you , that is wrong , I consistently tell the PUG groups I'm in to zerg down the healers and to mark them when you find one. This mark stays on you the whole match and does not need to be reapplied when you die. It is actually very easy to do all this via ops chat and no voice. If you don't want a gear handicap go play an FPS or something. Granted not all but definitely most MMO's work through progressing your character though gear levels to become stronger. If people didn't have access to better gear or a way of improving their toons power, many wouldn't play at all , and probably no one after they maxed out their characters potential. Conclusion: Yes add a ranked 50s bracket , otherwise top end PvP'ers will have no reason to continue Subbing every month. But , DO NOT do it for the reasons sited in this post.
  6. knockdowns are bugged and are causing characters to be permanently on the ground and unable to attack this has happened to me at least 5 times and I have seen it happen to at least 4 enemies I have killed while on the ground both in ilum and huttball
  7. I was really concerned that I had choked my legacy name also. I chose "Sithmasters". Glad I found this forum , once I changed it to display as a title it was actually pretty awesome. Homewrecker Fugitivelama The Sithmasters Legacy
