  1. They could improve the LFG tool they already have immensely if they gave it just a little bit more effort. They don't need to make it into an auto-queue auto-grouping lobby game tool. They need to make a separate UI window element that lists people looking for group. Similar to the /who panel they already have, except: - It needs to be server wide. - Sort/filter by level, desired instance, trinity role etc etc. - Add a global /lfg chat channel. Boom.. Instantly way easier to find groups using the system they already have.
  2. It really wouldn't take much to improve on the system they've already got without implementing any sort of auto-group LFG queue. You can already list yourself as looking for a group and add a short note about what you're looking for and which role you are. What they need to do is break that information off into a separate UI window that shows people across every zone/planet and can be sorted by level range, role, desired instance etc. Then you can just form your own groups up a lot easier without having to resort to auto-group zombie mode cross server LFG stuff.
  3. There's also a big group of KOTOR players who probably have no idea about these sort of MMO group dynamics. You might want to try explaining things to people, taking lead in the group and getting CC targets marked etc etc.
  4. The game isn't hard at all. Learn to use some crowd control. Learn the boss mechanics. Get better, don't complain.
  5. It'll get better when people start to figure out how to use the LFG system thats already in the game.
  6. This just isn't true and I wish people would stop saying it. The only situation where games are effected by Australian rating laws is when they are unable to rate them MA15+ or less, since we have no R18+ rating. Now, I sincerely doubt SWTOR needed a R18+ rating, so this isn't the reason we cannot buy it.
  7. Seeing as European retailers get to release as early as the 15th, it makes no sense for US retailers to have to wait until the 20th. We can't play before the 20th anyways (barring early access) so there really is no logical reason to dispatch the games -on- launch day, during the busiest shipping periods of the year..
  8. It's been named as the Oceanic PvE server, so it's not surprising that it's high pop right now (afternoon in this part of the world).
  9. No, they didn't.. But the first few days the population cap on servers was set somewhat low so the number of people in a zone wasn't too ridiculous.
  10. Well, fact of the matter is that you can only have so many people online in one zone at a time. So you can do what Rift did and have low pop limits for the first few days and have large queues. Or you can do what TOR's doing and arbitrarily let in 10% of your population a day for a week. So, either way some of the player base has to wait to play. I'm not sure I like the staggered launch over just letting everyone in to fight the queues though. It's pretty annoying waiting for your email to get a chance to play the game while you watch people get to level 30 in the first day..
  11. B.S. Red Zone has nothing to do with laws. The grace period also has nothing to do with retailers. If the EU can ship copies on the 15th, it's obviously not American retailers fault for not being able to ship earlier.
  12. As if the grace period fiasco and the whole red zone thing wasn't bad enough PR.
  13. It's also the kind of thing that would have been filtered out with proper beta testing.
  14. It's not really even a bug or a glitch, it's just bad design. They apparently intended players to be rewarded if WZ's finished early due to low population.
  15. They said there would be a grace period. Grace periods are pretty standard in MMO launches and many popular MMO's have launched with grace periods. There are a number of ways they could have handled this whole deal. Shipping before the 20th (if European copies are getting shipped on the 15th it's fairly obvious that the blames not on retailers). Allow people with a pre-order code to pay for an active subscription that begins a month after their subscription code is redeemed. Or just come good on their promise of a grace period. Instead they just act oblivious and say things like "sorry for any information that may have led you to believe there was a grace period".
