  1. No option to change AC was one of the reasons (besides no Legacy Datacrons and a few others...) I quit the game about a year ago. But now that I came back I actually changed my mind and think AC change is no longer needed. Back then there was almost no legacy gear and the Collection didn't exist. But now if I e.g. play a Guardian and Sentinel or a Mercenary and Powertech, I just need to get an earpiece, implants, relics and an off-hand for the individual characters (all of which are very easy to obtain) and I can re-use everything else across both ACs. The only imbalance I see with this is for certain AC combinations, e.g. Sorcerer/Assassin or Commando/Vanguard, because they don't share the same mainhand--and the mainhand is the most difficult piece of gear of them all to get in PvE. However, this could be fixed by e.g. making a rifle in the hands of a Commando as effective as a cannon and one and the same lightsaber in the hands of a Sorcerer act as a regular lightsaber and in the hands of an Assassin act as a two-bladed lightsaber.
  2. It has nothing to do with laziness.. that's not the point. SWTOR is kinda unique in the way it handles multiple characters, as in it is encouraged to play multiple characters and across both factions. - For example there are certain achievements which grant Cartel Coins and which can only be completed if you have both a high level Republic and Empire character. The Inheritance mainhand construction kit you get to provide a nice starter weapon for your next character. The Presence bonus you get from leveling a human and/or gaining affection with companions helps you level. And so on, there are several more examples. The whole platformer chore you have to do to get the full datacron stat bonus on all toons is the odd one out here, because it actually decourages a lot of people to play more characters. That's why I think it should be brought in line with the other mechanics. It's not like e.g. PvPing or going to an OP with an rDPS instead of a Healer, which is a different experience, getting all those datacrons is the same thing over and over again no matter what kind of class you play.
  3. I'll be in a similar situation soon. I'm moving to Canada beginning of next year and it'll be hard for me to do anything then with 6-7 hours time difference to most of Europe. For people like me it would be ideal if they boil everything down to 4 server types: PvP, PvE, PvP-RP and PvE-RP and get rid of the regions altogether. That way I could make new friends in my new time zone but still stay in touch with the people I got to know and do stuff with them on the weekend. Don't know, this whole region thing feels kinda antiquated these days, we live in a global world after all, the Internet and so on... Anyway, guess that's not gonna happen...
  4. This seriously needs to happen, ideally tied to the "Datacron Master" legacy title reward. Once you unlock the title all your characters get the maximum stat bonus and all colored crystal fragments. Basically as a reward for doing every existing datacron puzzle at least once. This way it would still require a significant time investment and at least 1 character on both factions (because some datacrons are identical for both sides, but some of them are pub/imp specific) - but it would not require the ridiculous amount of grinding it takes right now if you want to have all the stats on all your characters. Do it!
  5. Necro FTW! Came back to the game after quitting about a year ago and been playing again for a while now. It's good to see that about 50% of the stuff that made me quit in the first place has been fixed. Unfortunately, a quick search showed that this is still broken and Datacrons are still not Legacy wide... Oh and before I forget: Nerf Operatives! j/k
  6. This works fine for regular side quests but does not work for a lot of planet quest chains. The most famous example is probably the Voss planet questline, which many people abandoned at some point and now cannot pick up again in order to finish it and to get the endurance datacron in the Temple of Healing. - This particular example basically just illustrates a bad design decision (linking a datacron to a questline which can easily break) but yeah, it's a general issue. By the way, when you write to support about a broken planet quest chain the answer will be: "Sorry, we currently only offer support for class story quests."
  7. Yep, one of those two specs + around 1200 Expertise + stacking all Power & Surge in gear + PvP Eliminator Set = pwn. That pretty much sums it up.
  8. This video should answer all your questions regarding PTs:
  9. Simple solution to all of this really... don't be a social retard, make friends, look for a decent guild, pre-make a group and agree on kills / tactics before the run = win.
  10. I'm a Sentinel so I really need: A stealth detection skill Self-heal in Focus spec; maybe add an effect to Force Sweep like Force in Balance has, i.e. it heals me for every target I hit.
  11. Well... great video! Especially like the editing and music on it. Anyway, thing is, it was made when you could still use PvE Relics and PvE Adrenals in WZs... just watch the video and observe how she pops relic + adrenal right after the jump (or basically while jumping) and before the smash. You see, there was a reason why they removed those things from WZs because you could do some ridiculous damage by stacking power through stim + relic + adrenal. - And now it's back to almost the level it was back then, without the relics and adrenals, which isn't all that good really...
  12. A true Sith Warrior should be able to take out a whole battalion of Troopers on his own!
  13. Title says it all. - Learning several crafting schematics is necessary to level a profession but at maximum level a lot of them are useless and could be removed to clear up the list. It does get rather long if you have a lot of schematics... Would be simple to do as well, e.g. make it possible to right click something in the list and select remove.
  14. Then you've never fought a good Assassin 1vs1. An Assassin should always win a 1vs1 against a Sentinel, and if he doesn't, he's just crap and should l2p... In fact, an Assassin should win ANY 1vs1, except when fighting a Shadow.
  15. I don't get it either... It's not like anyone would force people to use it... My main is a Sentinel, too by the way - was since I started - and I'm actually very happy with it because I do 90% PvP and it's an amazing class for that. So personally I don't even want to switch my AC, but I realize that there are people out there who are desperate for it and I think there should be an option to do it... for a price though... in Cartel Coins.
  16. I totally agree on the option to switch advanced class, as I've said several times before. HOWEVER, I think it should be a rather expensive Cartel Market item (>2k CC or so) and with some sort of cooldown, i.e. no going back-and-forth on a daily basis, it's supposed to fix things for players who are really unhappy with their advanced class after playing it for some time.

  18. Most attacks from players simply ignore Shield Chance completely. To test if it's working in principle you should do this but only use free basic attacks, e.g. Strike or Hammer Shot, as they can be mitigated through Shield/Absorption.
  19. Let's assume they would get the pull/leap immunity. Even then there would be plenty of ways to shut them down as Commandos can still be CC'ed like everyone else, they can be interrupted, they can be rooted, pushed away by Juggernauts, and so on. - People would probably have to learn to deal with it, but they would. I also totally agree with you on the "don't mess with Arsenal" point. Commandos are perfectly fine for PvE. That's why I'm suggesting such a passive ability: It has basically 0 impact on PvE.
  20. Well... any Assassin could still just walk up in stealth and proceed to destroy him. Even the most paranoid Commando isn't using Stealth Scan all the time when he's busy trying to kill someone... Besides giving them this ability would make them interesting to have for a team, almost needed for a team, like the way that a Sorc is needed for bubbles or the way a Carnage Marauder is needed for Predation. Just for the record, I'm playing Sentinel (mainly) and Sorc (sometimes) ... it's not like I would benefit from this in any way, actually it would make my life in WZs harder most of the time... I just think Commandos need to be fixed for PvP and giving them a passive which makes them immune to pulls/jumps is a very easy way to do it.
  21. What I would do in your case: 1. Get EWH relics (for a little extra Power and Expertise) 2. Min/Max WH gear (which is superior to stock EWH gear) 3. Start exchanging 61 armorings, mods, enhacements 1-by-1 for 63s.
  22. I still think giving leap immunity to them as a passive would be fine. A Sniper would still kill a Commando at range, because of the dodge while in cover mechanic and interrupt immunity, it's absolutely no change here. A Marauder who knows what he's doing, get himself knocked back, use Force Camouflage at the right moment, etc. would still be able to faceroll a Commando if he wanted to, but it wouldn't be easy mode facerolling any more. It would just make the class overall playable in PvP without having to balance and re-balance a lot of other stuff. This is only true for PTs and Juggernauts. A Marauder can simply use Force Camouflage as a gap closer. Which is the whole point. By simply adding this, it makes the class viable against certain classes (e.g. PTs and Juggernauts) while still leaving it vulnerable to others (e.g. Sniper and Marauder). That's the way it's supposed to be, like Rock, Paper, Scissors = Balance in the Force
  23. Mercs/Commandos already have close to 0 mobility, so at the moment I see it more as them having all the drawbacks without any of the perks... It wouldn't be exactly like a Sniper in cover by the way, e.g. Sniper are immune to interrupts while in cover, the Merc/Commando would only get the leap immunity, just permanently. In essence a passive ability for Commandos which could be called "Static Field Generator" or something... "Prevents the use of Jet Charge and Force Charge on you." - and an equivalent for Mercs. Class fixed. P.S.: The best part is, this wouldn't have any influence at all on the current PvE balancing, as (1.) this is pointless in PvE and (2.) Mercs/Commandos are actually fine in PvE, they're just broken in PvP.
  24. I don't think so. They only have 1 on a 30 second cooldown... More than enough for a melee to walk back there, even if slowed.
  25. I think a better solution than giving them "Hold the Line" would be to give Mercs/Commandos complete leap immunity. Like a sniper in cover, but constantly, even when running around and everything. It's just not possible to leap on them (only with Obliterate / Zealous Leap). Melees would of course still totally faceroll a Commando, but it would be much rarer since they would actually have to walk there.
